《The Diner Girl》CHAPTER 13: Unexpected

I had finished putting my nice jeans on along with my tank and cardigan. I had also styled my hair leaving it wavy cascading down a little past my shoulders while wearing minimal make up as well.

I can't believe I agreed to go on a date with him. Although at the same time, I am also happy that I did.

Brie had been teasing me all day long with going out on a date with Abe and that this is the first real actual date he has ever really been on.

After walking out of my room and into the living room where he was waiting for me with his nice jeans, boots and nice black buttoned up shirt and hoodie on that complimented his slicked back hair exposing more of his tattoos. We then headed out and onto his bike and took off.

I had no idea where we were going but I thought it would be better to be surprised to see what he had in mind.

He doesn't seem like the romantic type really but who knows right?! Plus, can't ever judge a book by it's cover.

We first pulled up to a place that seemed simple and yet casual all at the same time. So I'm glad I still chose to wear what I wore without feeling over or under dressed.

I also had noticed too that we were just outside of town.

When we walked in, I immediately was taken back a little from the decor that hits you right as soon as you walk in.

Right away your nose was hit with mouthwatering smells of home cooked and deep fried deliciousness. Then over by the counter where you pay at was a turntable type tower that displayed delicious choices of their sweet desserts.

You could tell this was a family-owned place and the people here were very down-to-earth and welcoming. It was nice.

"How y'all doin' this evening?!" A young waitress came greeting us. Then she looked at Abe and smiled even bigger before hugging him. "Well hey there stranger!" She says to him.

"Hey Sophie." He laughs a little.

"It's been a while." She says.

"Yeah it has. Sorry." He tells her.

"I get it. But you better explain it to my folks why you've been absent for so long." She says.

"I will. How are they?" He asks her.

"They're good. Well, better than good thanks to you." She winks.

She turns and grabs a couple of menus and we start following her over towards a small booth where she has us sit and lets us know she'll be back to take our order in a minute.

We first give her our drink order before she walks off.

"She's sweet. Are you guys friends or is she friend of the family?" I ask him.

"You can say that." He says while looking at the menu.

"Well she seemed to be real happy to see you. And if you don't mind me asking, what did she mean by that?" I ask him.

"By what?" He asks.

"She said thanks to you her parents were doing better than good." I remind him.

"Oh yeah. It's no big deal. They were struggling to keep this family restaurant open and I decided to help them out. Now looks like they don't even need my help." He laughs it off a little bit while looking back down at the menu trying to make it sound like it's no big deal in what he just told me.

"Wow. That was really nice of you." I tell him.

"It's just helping friends out." He shrugs. "So what looks good?" He asks me.

Oh that's right, food.

"Hmmm, well everything looks good um..." I began thinking.

"We can order one of everything off the menu if you'd like." He winks at me.

"I couldn't eat it all." I laugh.

"Well then looks like I'll have to bring you back some more times then so you can have the honor in trying everything." He tells me.

I start to blush a little. Did he just say that he would take me here again?

"And what makes you think I would ever go out with you again?" I tease.

"Because I know the effect I have on you." He says while leaning forward closer to me over the table.

"Oh really?! And what would that be?" I ask curious.

"It's the same way I'm feeling." He says again not answering the question.

"And what feeling is that?" I ask him.

"You'll see." He winks again at me and then takes a look back down at the menu again and we spend the rest of the next couple of hours talking, eating and enjoying each other's company.

Never expected any of what I have been experiencing with him right now but I will say that it's nice and would have to be one of the greatest dates I've ever been on.
