《The Diner Girl》CHAPTER 11: Okay Then.....

Am I hugging him? Did I really just thank him as well? Did I mean it? Of course I did. It's the truth after all. Since my brother died, nobody has ever really stood up for me before, especially when it came to guys being cruel.

I take a step back a little and start to feel a little nervous and embarrassed in a way.

"I'm sorry. I appreciate what you did for me." I tell him again.

"You're welcome. That guy is seriously just a dumb ass who talks a big game but can't ever follow through with anything, including a threat." He laughs a little.

"Yeah." I replied.

We both share a brief moment of silence and then he thankfully breaks it.

"Why don't I finish closing up and we head to the house?!" He suggests.

"Sounds good." I reply.

He smiles at me and then heads towards the back as I go behind the counter underneath the register to grab my bag and sweater.

I meet him at the door and as we walk out and after he locks the door, I stop when I see his bike.

"Of course." I say under my breath sarcastically.

"What?" He asks.

"Of course you would be riding a Harley Davidson Dyna. Looks just like the one Jax rode in Sons Of Anarchy." I tell him with a smirk.

"What can I say, we got great tastes." He winks at me.

He walks over to his bike and puts his helmet on then turns and hands me a helmet from behind him.

"I'm not riding that." I tell him. "I'm in a diner's waitress outfit. My out fit will go up making my ass hang out." I tell him.

"Well this is the only way we're getting home." He tells me while still holding out the helmet.

I look at him for a moment more while telling myself not to be such a goody goody. So I start to smirk at him as I hols my head high and walk towards him, grabbing the helmet and putting it on.

"Alright then." I say while putting the helmet on. "So, quick question, does this helmet make me look fat?!" I ask him.

He starts laughing a little.

"Not even close." He says.

I start to blush and then hop on the back and straddle the bike while putting my arms around his waist.

"Hold on tight." He says as he revs up his bike and right when I start asking what he said, he ends up taking off, forcing me to hold onto him tightly.

I have to admit that this is really fun and I feel as though I want to ride a bike. Although it feels even better being on the back of his.

Oh my god I need to stop thinking like that especially around him.

When we pull up to in front of the house, I get off as he turns the bike off and I hand him the helmet while trying to run my fingers through my hair.

"Thanks again for the ride." I tell him.

"You're welcome." He chuckles before getting off the bike and putting his helmet on there. "You do know I live here to right?"

"Of course, I was just thanking you." I tell him as I can tell he took it the wrong way obviously.

"Relax. I'm just messing with you." He says as we start walking up towards the house.

"I knew that." I rolled my eyes.

"Wait." I hear him say as he grabs my arm in a firm but yet gentle way.

"What?" I ask.

"What would you say if I asked you out?" He comes right out and says.

"I would say no because you have a girl already and again, no offense, I just can't be part of that..." I started rambling but he stopped me.

"Okay stop right there. We aren't going through this whole background judging thing again so why don't you forget about the world I live in and the world you do and think I do, and try to answer honestly." He says as he takes a step closer towards me.

Is he seriously trying to feed me that kind of a line? No I can't do this. I can't be distracted. He could get hurt. His dad, everyone could get hurt. Just like my brother.

Then again, what if he could protect me? Better yet, what if this could really work out and this is a sign? Maybe he isn't like my father or others like him. Maybe I have misjudged him.

Meanwhile as I stand here with both of us looking into each other's eyes as he waits for me to answer, I finally snap to and say the first thing that comes to my mind.

"Okay. Let's go out." I smile at him.

"Good. Be ready tomorrow night by six." He says as he walks past me and opens up the front door.

"The diner doesn't close though until around ten." I remind him while walking into the house past him.

"You're not working tomorrow." He winks at me.

Whatever game he is playing at, I guess it wouldn't hurt to play along as well and have a little fun. I'm worth it. Besides, I need to determine if the way he makes me feel is good or not. Call it butterflies or whatever, either way, he's got me interested and curious.
