"Get your ass back to the hospital right now!"

"Geez chill out. I'm coming in ten minutes," I said into the phone as I picked out the important things that we will be needing today.

"I swear to God Isabelle, I'm gonna fucking kill you if you aren't here in ten," Noah practically screamed from the other side and I shook my head to make sure my ears were still working fine.

"I'm coming!" I said and hung up on him before running out towards the car.

I told the driver to take me to the hospital as soon as he could. I was using the office's car once again and although I've been feeling way too guilty for using the office luxuries for personal use and taking over Ace's mean didn't mean I had the right to do all that but I couldn't help it. I was in a hurry.

Emily was going into labour today and suffice to say Noah was freaking out to a point where I was thinking he was going to pee his pants any minute.

Over the course of time, the four of us had gotten so close that I couldn't remember a weekend when we didn't hang out together for the past few months.

And as for Ace, no, he hadn't woken up yet but that didn't mean we had lost hope. Although we've been quite busy with our lives but not even a single day had passed when I didn't visit him and I could say the same about the other three.

Even when pregnant, Emily made sure to come by and sit beside him for a while and the same was for Noah and Alex too.

I hurried towards the respective ward and saw Noah standing outside a room peeking in and then pacing back and forth and then repeating it all over again.

"Oh thank goodness," he said as soon as he saw me and I chuckled and hugged him as I awkwardly patted his back.

"How's it going?" I asked, putting the bags in my hand on the chairs.

"They aren't fucking letting me in!" he exclaimed with a horrified expression but if you ask me, he looked like a five year old to me.

"Why not?" I asked, playing along with his freak out session.

"I don't fucking know I wanna be with her so bad!" he whined like a child and I saw a doctor making her way inside the room.

"Hey Rachel!" I called out her name.

"Isabelle! How are you doing?" she greeted me with a warm smile on her face.

See the perk of spending half of your life in a hospital is that you get familiar with a lot of people.

"I was wondering if Noah, my friend could be with his wife while the delivery..?" I grasped his arm and pulled him forward as he awkwardly smiled at her as she looked up and down and nodded before going inside the room.

"We're not even married yet!" he whisper-yelled at me.

"She doesn't need to know that!" I whisper-yelled back at him and he grinned and kissed the crown of my head before practically flying inside and I couldn't help but chuckle at that.

Emily was finally having the baby- oh wait let me correct myself, the babies and now it was my turn to freak out.

Holy shit my best friend was going to be a mother of two!

*************

"I'm late I'm late I'm late don't abandon me please," Alex came running towards me with balloons in his hands and I laughed as I saw his flushed face and messy hair.

"Where the hell were you?" I asked as I took the stuff from his hands and he sat down on the chair catching his breath.

"In fucking Atlanta!" he said loosening his tie and I laughed even harder at that.

"Yeah yeah laugh all you want. You weren't the one who had to attend two freaking meetings in two different states in the span of twenty four hours and then fly all the way from Atlanta to NYC just so you don't miss this," he pointed at the room in front of us as I took a seat beside him trying to keep the excitement and giddiness at bay.

"Guys," Noah came out and said and Alex and I exchanged glances.

"Oh my god!" I jumped up and down in excitement as I pushed Noah away and rushed into the room with Alex hot on my heels.

I slowed down as I saw one baby in Emily's arms and the other in the cradle.

I breathed out as I felt tears forming at the back of my eyes. I stepped forward and picked the baby up in my arms as Alex stood behind me looking at the baby fast asleep.

"That's our little man" Emily smiled at me and nodded at the one in my arms and I smiled looking back at Alex who was still staring at the baby like he'd seen it for the first time.

Noah, on the other hand was leaning against the doorframe looking like he was about to pass out.

His eyes were glistening and it seemed as if he was trying not to cry.

I walked over to the bed and saw the baby girl and let's just say it was the most adorable thing...ever.

Emily nodded at Noah with a faint smile and he slowly started walking towards the bed, his steps slow and nervous.

"Come here you dumbass," I chuckled lightly and I didn't even realise that my voice was thick with emotions.

He took the girl from Emily's arms and I gave the boy over to her.

I stepped back and looked at the four of them, together, like a perfect family and I couldn't help myself so I took my phone out and took a picture of them.

I turned around and saw Alex standing their with a smile on his face but still there was a hint of sadness in his expressions.

"What's wrong with you?" I lightly said and nudged his shoulder.

"It's just that...he isn't here.." he trailed and I knew exactly who he was talking about.

"It's okay," I grabbed his hand and squeezed it lightly, "We're gonna take the babies to him so he can meet them too."

I wanted my voice to come out strong but I couldn't say stuff like this without getting emotional as hell.

"Where are my grandkids?!" the door flew open and a very excited William stood there with the biggest grin on his face.

And here it goes.

********************

I held the baby girl in my hands as we walked towards Ace's room. Alex was walking beside me holding the baby boy and Noah was right behind us talking to William.

Emily couldn't come because the doctors said she needed to take some rest before she got discharged from the hospital.

Alex opened the door with one hand and we entered inside with grins on our faces.

As we advanced towards the bed, Alex spoke up, "If this doesn't wake you up, I swear to God I'm kicking your ass and I don't care if you're in coma."

We sat on the chairs beside his bed and held the baby girl in one hand and entwined the other with Ace's.

"I think the baby girl looks like you," I whispered to Ace when Alex was busy making fun of Noah.

I knew that wasn't techinally possible but what, it did seem like she had Ace's nose and lips.

"We miss you so much so you better wake up fast before we tell the kids what an evil bastard you were," Noah chimed in and the rest of us chuckled.

The four of us kept sitting in that room for a while before Noah took the kids to their mom and Alex went outside to talk to William about something important, and I of course was left with him once again.

"I was thinking last night how you never officially took me on a date," I whispered to him, running my fingers through his hair.

"You better wake up fast and take me to that pending date Ace Rhodes or I swear I'm getting real mad at you soon," at this, I felt like his fingers tightened around mine and I gasped as I looked at our intertwined hands.

I couldn't say for sure if it was the fatigue playing tricks on my mind or if he actually moved his fingers.

"Ace are you there?" I said, hoping to get a reaction, any reaction that would highten our hopes but nothing came which led me to assume if I imagined all that.

I sighed and stood before leaning down and pressing a kiss to his forehead, "I miss you."
