I groaned as the sun brightly shone through the window directly on my face. Go somewhere else dude.
I took the pillow on my face and tried to sleep again but the bitch of a headache wouldn't go away. I felt like throwing up except I didn't have the energy to stand up and go to the bathroom.
Last night events came rushing back to me as I sighed. This was the reason I did not like getting drunk. After my third tequila shot I didn't remember anything that happened in the club or how on earth did I even got home.
I just remembered someone picking me up in his arms and telling me that it was time to go home. Must've been Daniel. That is why I liked him so much as a friend. He was caring.
Just as I threw the pillow off my head I heard someone walking up the stairs as I tried to make sense of who it could possibly be.
I didn't even have the energy to stand up and find my phone to call 911 so I just sincerely hoped that the thief would take whatever he wanted and leave me alone.
"Oh good you're awake because you have a lot of explaining to do missy," Zach's annoying voice pierced in my ears.
"Oh no not you again," I groaned as I tried to find the pillow again.
Zach came and sat down beside me with aspirin and water in his hands.
"Come on Belle, sit up and take this," he helped me sit up straight and I gulped down the aspirin with water.
"Where were you last night?" Zach started interrogating me and I closed my eyes, holding my head in my hands.
"Go away Zach, I wanna die right now," I mumbled.

I heard Zach sigh as he put the glass on the nightstand and placed the pillows behind me as I gladly relaxed back.
"Come on now answer my questions because believe me you're about to commit suicide after I tell you my side of the story," Zach grinned and I narrowed my eyes at him.
"What did I do?"
"Come on start speaking, we'll get to that part soon," Zach said and took his shoes off as he made himself comfortable on my bed.
"I was at a friend's birthday party."
"A friend? Be more vague," Zach said sarcastically and rolled his eyes and I sighed before sitting up straight and folding my arms across my chest.
"A friend from office named Daniel's birthday party and I got a little drunk, that's pretty much it," I shrugged.
"A little drunk? Oh honey you were fucking stoned."
"Yeah whatever," I mumbled, not exactly liking the sound of my best friend's voice at the moment.
"Did everyone from your office come to the party?" Zach continued his interrogation.
"Nah just me and another friend named Sasha."
As I said it, I saw Zach fall into deep thoughts which confused me even more as to why was he asking me so many questions when I was safe and sound in my very own bed.
"Zach...what is it? What did I do?"
"Belle do you remember who brought you home?" Zach bit his bottom lip and I shook my head no.
"Must've been Daniel....." I trailed off.
"No baby. It was Ace Rhodes."
****************
Clutching my stomach in my hands, I seated myself on the bed again as Zach came out of the bathroom.
After Zach dropped the bomb at me, I had to puke my guts out so I hurried to the bathroom and vomited all I had in my stomach.

Zach sat down beside me and rubbed my back.
"I so did not," I whispered as I kept looking down at my feet, trying to remember anything that happened last night after I had my third shot of tequila.
"Oh but you did," Zach uselessly attempted to condole me.
"Gee thanks. That helped," I rolled my eyes and pulled my knees up to my chest.
"Oh come on you can't do anything to change it now. So chill the hell out and be happy that your boss has feelings for you."
"What the fuck," my words came out more like a statement rather than a question.
"Oh you should've seen the look on his face when he handed you over to me. The guy was practically seconds away from spitting fire."
"Zach go away and let me sleep. You're not making sense right now," I shook my head and laid down on the bed, pulling the duvet on myself.
"Gosh I swear both of you are in a severe denial," Zach said and stood up, turning the light off he made his way out of my room.
*************
The next day went by in a blur. Zach left in the morning after giving me a huge lecture on how I should embrace my feelings rather than running away from them and me being the good best friend, nodded at whatever he was saying.
I spent the rest of the day at the hospital with papa. The doctors told me that there was no improvement in his health conditions so far but the good thing was that his condition had stabled and wasn't getting any worse.
I tried to not think about Friday night, because the more I tried to put my head around things, the less they made sense.
I even called Daniel to ask that how in hell did I end up in Mr. Rhodes arms by the end of the night but he didn't pick my call up, which made me even more suspicious.
I decided to avoid Mr. Rhodes the following day, and the next day, and the next and as many days as I could. I would ask Sasha if she knew anything about that night, regarding me going home with Mr. Rhodes and if she wouldn't know then I'd prefer dying of curiosity rather than confronting Mr. Rhodes about it.
******************
I can do this.
It was my first thought as I entered the building with this new found motivation inside me. My eyes went to Sasha's counter as soon as I entered but much to my dismay, she wasn't here yet. I decided to interrogate her during lunch when the three of us would sit together.
I made my way to the elevator and took deep breaths to keep my anxiety at bay. As I passed from in front of Mr. Rhodes' office, my breath hitched in my throat but I somehow managed to make it to my cabin without passing out.
After getting myself busy with loads of work and requesting a friend of mine to go to Mr. Rhodes office to give him coffee, I was much more at ease and relaxed.
Well I was until my phone rang,
"Good Evening, I am Isabelle Reinhart from Flawless Inbounds, how-"
"Would be please come to my office, Miss Reinhart?" his sexy accent and velvety voice echoed in my ears and I closed my eyes and swore under my breath.
"Sure, Mr. Rhodes."
