《Felicitas✔️》chapter twenty-nine

I had a shower after our 'bath' this morning. I'm not sure you could even call it a bath; it was more like a wet sex session.
We had breakfast together in my kitchen. Asper made eggs and bacon while Altus and I 'helped'. Truthfully, all we did was set the table. The rest of the time, we got in the way and snuck bits of food when we thought Asper was distracted. He whipped us with a tea towel each time he caught us.
The whole thing was lovely because it was a real relaxed moment for the three of us. There was no tension, no hesitation, nothing. It was genuine and comfortable, and I love that.
After eating, I changed into my gym wear, and we stopped by Asper and Altus' houses for them to do the same. It had been almost an hour since we ate when we arrived at the gym, which was good because I was worried I would be too full still.
We spend an hour and a half there. I start with a brief cardio warm-up and then move to the weights section, where Altus was. He helped me with my technique on dead-lifting. I hated the fact I had to start at a much lower weight than I used to lift, but I'll get back there eventually, it just takes time. Asper spent the entire time doing cardio, his stamina is seriously impressive.
Altus smacked my bum when he caught me checking out Asper on the rowing machine. He pointed back to the mirror, telling me to stop perving and get back to lifting. His wink softened the reprimand, though.
When we finish at the gym, my boys drop me back at my house. I'm reluctant for them to leave, but we all having things to do today. I use the opportunity to do some painting.
The natural light is truly too good to pass up on. I set up my easel, spread out my paints and don't stop for almost three hours. I'm semi-satisfied with my work when I'm done, but it's definitely a work-in-progress that needs some more attention.
It's late afternoon and I'm not seeing my mates until seven, when we're going to meet at Altus' for dinner. I decide to pop out for a quick shop. I drive to the supermarket in my car.

It's so interesting to see how differently shoppers react to me now that I am no longer human. Ones who have not seen me out with my mates barely pay me any attention, I am another visiting shifter to them. The only ones that do stare are people I've started to recognise from seeing out, they're clearly curious as to who this new person is who has arrived in their pack and is mated with two of their members.
No one speaks to me, though. I don't know whether I prefer it that way or not. It seems strange that they are willing to stare at me without shame but none of them will strike up a conversation. If they are really that nosy, surely they would just ask?
I get everything I need and drive back. Satura is waiting on my porch when I get home.
"Hello," I call out to her as I'm getting my bags out of the boot.
"Hey."
She comes over and helps me by taking the last two. Together, we take them into my house and put them on the kitchen counter.
"What can I do for you?" I ask her as I start unpacking.
"I wanted to see how you're doing, how things are progressing with your mates," she says, taking a seat on one of the stools.
I suppose, one of her duties as alpha is to check on the wellbeing of her pack members. I'm surprised that she's come to me, considering I'm not a member of her pack and all, but maybe she has already visited my mates.
"We're good, thank you," I reply. My mind loads up lewd scenes of last night's and this morning's sex and I quickly push them aside. "Altus seems to be accepting the bond, which is great."
She smiles widely. "That's great news! I'm very happy for you, Felicity."
I blush a little and turn back to the groceries. "Actually, I'm using 'Felicitas' instead now. It's what my mother named, and I want to honour that."
When I glance back at her, she is smiling knowingly. "Then Felicitas it is."

"I'm not sure what to make of this."
"I know, it's a little..." Altus waits patiently for me to finish my sentence, his facial expression is expectant. "Unnerving." His face falls and he glares.

"Fuck you both, I made an effort here."
Asper and I are stood in the doorway of Altus' dining room, assessing the scene before us. We were both invited round for dinner and to stay over. I wasn't sure what to expect but I prepared myself by shaving and moisturising just in case.
I was not expecting this. He has lit candles and placed them strategically around the room. Soft, classical music is playing in the background. The curtains are pulled, and the lights are dim, creating a warm, romantic atmosphere. The table is set with silverware, a cream cloth, and more candles. A bouquet of roses is positioned in a vase in the centre. The delicious smell of gravy and beef wafts through from the kitchen.
It is clear that he has gone to a lot of effort. But, as I commented, it's a little unnerving. This is a full 180 on how he was behaving a week ago.
"Can you both just say thank you and stop questioning everything?" He demands, throwing his hands up in exasperation. "I'm trying, alright?"
Asper responds first. He steps forward and pulls Altus in for a hug. The big man grumbles for a bit before hugging him back.
"We appreciate it, Al, we really do. It looks amazing."
I come up behind him and wrap my arms around his waist. I rest my cheek on his back. "We do appreciate it. It smells good, too."
"That's the roast beef," he mumbles petulantly.
"When will it be ready?" Asper enquires when we all pull back.
Altus looks between us, huffs, and then checks his watch. "In two minutes. Come on, you can make yourselves useful and help me serve up."
We dutifully follow Altus through to the kitchen and proceed to do everything he says as he orders us about. Asper takes our bags upstairs. In a few minutes, we have the whole meal presentable and on the table. He's made a whole roast beef joint, a selection of vegetables and a generous portion of Yorkshire puddings.
"You did all this by yourself?" I ask incredulously when we sit down to eat.
He looks embarrassed for a moment. "Mel helped a bit," he confesses. "She's always been a good cook. But she only started me off! She left half-way through."
"Well, thank you to both of you," Asper says, taking a bite. "This is delicious."
We talk as we eat, discussing the day's events, plans for the rest of the week and my visit from the alpha.
"We need to talk to her about you joining the pack," Asper says.
"Yeah, now you've decided to stay longer, you should really become a member."
I have no problem with it. It would be nice to be one of them, rather than the visitor. It would be great to start getting to know people, too. That way, the stares might finally stop.
"How do I become a pack member?"
"It used to be a whole big thing where there would be a ceremony, face-paint and chanting would be involved. Nowadays, you just sign a couple forms, get an ID card and an access code and that's it, you're in."
"No ceremony?" I double-check.
I hate public speaking.
"No ceremony," Asper confirms. "Although, we can come with you. It'll be a proud moment for us."
"I'd like that."
"We need to talk about marking, too," Altus says and the reaction from Asper tells me that it's serious.
I turn to look at him. "You said that was like getting married, didn't you?"
Asper nods. "Yes, it's on par with that. It's a big sign of commitment." He looks over at Altus. "Are you ready for that?"
Altus' jaw clenches as he nods. "I've thought about it a lot. It's time. The pack needs to know that us three are a thing. The sooner they know, the sooner they can accept it."
"Are you sure you don't want to wait until you're alpha?" I ask.
Altus gives me a sympathetic smile. "I don't think any of us can wait that long, rosa mea. The urge to mark each other isn't that strong at the moment but give it another couple of weeks and it will be all the three of us can think about."
"He's right," Asper agrees. "Mates who wait too long end up obsessing over it until it happens."
"Oh, okay then."
Asper told me that we would all mark each other. I would have two marks, one on each side of my neck. Biting each other sounds so savage, so animalistic.
I hope it doesn't hurt.

"Let them go, Dante." I whip my head to see a small boy standing the clearing with blonde hair and a green cloak hanging from shoulders. He isn't very tall however he holds his stance well. He doesn't seem to be more than Cassandra's age. Maybe 12 at most. I abruptly turn my head back hearing the man holding a sword to my throat chuckling with a sinister grin. "Oh, poor boy, what are you go to do about it?" The yellow teeth gleam as he begins stalking towards the boy who does not look the least bit fazed. I look around at the other men who are following the leader. I pull Cassandra tighter to my back as I take small steps back. I keep my eye trained on the men but also fear for the naive boy. "Do you really want to test me Dante?" He asks raising a single eyebrow. For a minute the men stop their movements. I see their hesitation for fear... Fear of what? I take the moment to stick Cassandra behind a nearby tree. She crouches down while I pull my sword out from its place. "How do you know my name?" The scoundrel raises his sword challenging towards the boy before taking a final step towards him. Then the unexpected happens. The young boy chuckles so darkly. It sounded almost... demonic. All the men instinctively raise their swords. "Oh Dante, I didn't know your name... but you know someone dear to me." "Spit it out boy!" The once grinning man is now looking around frantically. I continue my eyes scanning the small boy. He looks directly me and gives me a small nod before saying one word that caused all hell to breaks loose. "Artemis." Artemis is not an ordinary girl.
