"Baby, did you bring the wine?" you ask as Namjoon walks through the door.

"Fuck," he groans. "I knew I was forgetting something."

"We have plenty of drinks," Jimin laughs. "We don't need to add another bottle of wine."

"But still," Namjoon huffs, crossing his arms over his chest. "It's your annual Christmas party. I always bring a bottle of wine."

"Just bring two to his New Years party," Taehyung grins. "You know JK will drink them within an hour."

"I'll make sure to do that," Namjoon laughs before placing a kiss on your temple. "Hey baby, how did you sleep last night?"

"Not bad," you smile, setting the knife down to turn and press your lips against his. "Luckily Jimin didn't snore all night again."

"Girl don't even start with me," Jimin glares. "You're dating the worst snorer in Bangtan."

"But Namjoon's snoring is cute," you roll your eyes, beginning to cut the cheddar cheese into cubes again. "You sound like you're getting mauled by a bear."

"Thank you, baby," Namjoon smirks, wrapping his arms around your waist from behind.

"Sorry [Y/N] but you're wrong on this one," Jhope sighs, handing you a block of pepper jack to cut next. "You're blinded by love. Namjoon's snoring is fucking awful."

"I'm just glad Nana doesn't snore," Jimin laughs. "Can you imagine us having to sleep next to her snoring for two months straight?"

"I'd smother her with a pillow if I had to hear that all the time," you snort.

Nanami didn't wake up from her coma like the doctors thought she would. They actually can't explain why she's still asleep — she's completely healthy and her body responds to stimulus like normal.

After two weeks in the hospital where she was first treated, Jimin had her careflighted to Seoul. After another two weeks in that hospital, the doctors recommended taking her home to continue receiving care, hoping that a familiar place would help wake her up.

The last month she's been at home in her room, and Jimin has basically moved in with her family. Apparently Mrs. Watanabe could tell Nanami had been dating someone based off of how happy she'd been lately, and she was thrilled it was someone like Jimin. They treat him like he's family, and they're even letting him throw his Christmas party at their house this year so he can include Nanami.

He sleeps in another bed next to her every single night, and you stay over 1-2 times a week just to be near her. It's weird watching her sleep; it doesn't look like anything is wrong. She looks like she's just taking a nap, and could wake up any second. The only thing that even indicates something's wrong is the heart monitor and IV she's hooked up to. She also has a large scar down her chest from the heart surgery, but that's usually covered up by the blankets. A nurse comes by every morning to check her vitals and stretch her to avoid muscle atrophy.

After everything went down, BTS went on a six month hiatus to let the dust settle. The rumors about you and Jin were squashed after BigHit released a statement saying you were only there for a business meeting. A lot of people didn't buy it but Army was quick to back Jin up; he even went on vlive to talk about it and explain that you and him are just friends.

Seokjin was a little distant with you for a few weeks once he got out of the hospital. He said it was because he was busy with the legal process with his mother but you knew something was off. Namjoon told you to just give him some space so you did, and after a month it was like you two were the best of friends again. His mother is currently serving a minimum of ten years in prison for attempted rape, abduction, and aiding and abetting a wanted criminal.

"Joon, can you set this on the table?" you ask him, handing him two of the appetizers you made.

"Of course I can," he smiles, giving you a small peck against your lips before taking the trays from your hands.

Nanami's coma was really hard for Namjoon and yourself to deal with. You both felt like it was your fault that Nanami and Jimin had to suffer like this, and the guilt was eating you both alive. Jin eventually forced the two of you into therapy and it's gotten a little better, but it's hard not to blame yourselves. Jimin and the Watanabe's have told you both a hundred times that the only ones to blame are Mrs. Kim and Hae-Ran but it's difficult to accept.

"Where's Jungkook?" you ask, finishing up your impressive charcuterie board. "Is he bringing that girl he's been talking to?"

"Yeah, we'll finally get to meet her," Yoongi smiles. "He's been so secretive about it, I think he's really serious this time."

"It's about time that little twerp stopped hoeing around," Nari snorts, lacing her fingers between Yoongi's.

Yoongi and Nari put themselves into some therapy as well. They love each other like crazy, but Yoongi was having a really hard time forgiving Nari for not confiding in him earlier, even if he understood. Nari also needed therapy due to her guilt over Nanami's condition. You don't know all the details but the last few weeks they've seemed really happy together.

"Hey besties!" Jeffrey bursts through the door with four bottles of hard liquor. "Are we ready to get fucked up tonight?"

"Jeffrey I'm not gonna lie to you, man," Taehyung says as he looks at the alcohol with stars in his eyes. "You've never looked sexier than you do right now."

"Honestly I can't tell if he's swooning for the alcohol or for Jeffrey," you whisper to Namjoon, making him laugh.

"First of all," Jeffrey scoffs still standing in the doorway. "I'm always sexy. Second of all, you'll never fucking guess who just came here together."

"Hey party people!" Jungkook beams from behind Jeffrey. "Sorry for being late. I was nervous and didn't know what to wear."

"How did you not know what to wear?" Jin asks with his brows raised. "[Y/N] made us all wear these hideous red Santa sweaters."

"Fuck off Jin," you glare. "The Santas are cute."

"Come in, morons," Jimin rolls his eyes. "It's cold outside, you're letting all the heat out."

"Oh, sorry," JK chuckles, turning his head to someone still outside. "Come on in babe."

Your jaw almost comes unhinged when you watch the cutest little chubby cheeks walk through the door.

"Boram?!" you exclaim, slapping your hand over your mouth. "What the hell? Am I dreaming?"

"Hey [Y/N]," she grins. "Long time no see."

You've been working remotely the last two months due to the healing wound on your cheek. Mr. Lim was informed of everything that happened and made you work from home, mostly so you could recover — both mentally and physically — but also because he didn't want you scaring off the clients. The wound is now barely visible and you'll start going back into the office after the holidays.

"How did this happen?" Namjoon gapes.

"We actually became friends after that one night I tried to fight Jeffrey," JK says, lightly punching Jeffrey in the arm. "I'm thinking maybe I wasn't ever actually attracted to [Y/N] I was just attracted to her name."

Your eyes narrow at Jungkook while everyone else laughs. "I don't know if I'm offended or not."

"I'm just kidding," he grins with his bunny smile and wrapping his arm around Boram. "But this is the one I like now."

Boram's round face turns the same color as the bright red Santa sweater she was forced to wear. "Can you not?" she grits through her teeth. "I'm not trying to pass out yet it's only 7pm."

"Come help me set the table," Jin says, ignoring the disgustingly happy new couple. "We didn't make all this food for it to get cold."

Everyone gathers around the table to enjoy the food you and Jin made, then quickly moves on to the hard liquor Jeffrey brought. It only takes around two hours for everyone to get pretty shitfaced except for you and Jin. Even Namjoon's letting go tonight.

During one of Taehyung's drunken speeches about how much he loves everyone, you slip yourself into Nanami's room with two wine glasses. After gently closing the door behind you, your chest swells when you see her adorable sleeping face.

You set the wine glasses down on the side table next to her and pull up a chair to scoot closer. After wrapping your hand around hers, you pick up your wine glass and act like you're toasting.

"Merry Christmas, Nans," you say with a smile, one tear rolling down your cheek. "I hope you can wake up soon. Jimin's getting on my nerves and I need you here to distract him."

You take a sip of wine and watch her chest slowly rise and fall, trying to hold back your tears. You did a lot of crying during the first few weeks Nanami didn't wake up, and Mrs. Watanabe had to beg you to try and move on with your life — you weren't eating, you weren't sleeping, you weren't performing well at work. You and Namjoon had both fallen into a depression so deep it was getting toxic for the both of you. Her mom sat you down and sternly told you this is not what would make Nanami happy.

And she was right. Even Jimin was doing better than you. So you and Namjoon got into therapy, and you got your shit together, promising you wouldn't cry again until she woke up. But you'll allow yourself a weak moment on a holiday, feeling another tear escape over your lashes.

"I miss you," you say softly, smoothing your hand over her knuckles. "You're supposed to be a cockroach, not a hibernating bear. My birthday is next month and I can't celebrate without you passing out drunk on my kitchen floor."

Well, it would be Namjoon's kitchen floor this time around since you moved back in with him full time. Things were rough at first but they're getting better. A week after the incident, the doctor cleared you for "physical activity" but neither of you were really able to get in the mood. But even with Namjoon's deep guilt and depression he had made it a point to love you and care for you, wrapping you in his arms every night to let you know you're safe.

Once you had your talk with Nanami's mom and you both got into therapy, things really did start improving. You and Namjoon started going on dates, spending meaningful quality time with each other, and even got your healthy sex life back.

The dynamic is a little bit different, there's still a large hole in both your chests. The two of you are healing and moving on as best you can, and you know that's all Nanami would want for you. It's just hard to feel happy when half of your heart is lying still in a coma.

You spend about thirty minutes chatting with Nanami about nothing before slipping back into the living room, finding Jin and JK performing an oddly sexual song on DDR.

"Hey baby," Namjoon drunkenly grins as you plop yourself next to him. "I missed you." He snakes his arm around your waist, giving you a kiss on the top of your hair as you rest your head on his shoulder.

"I missed you too," you smile, watching Jeffrey and Taehyung fall over with tears in their eyes from Jin's twerking.

Another hour or two passes and it's close to midnight. Looks like everyone will be staying here tonight since they're all totally hammered.

Jimin's pretty drunk but not belligerently drunk like the rest of them. You watch as he quietly slips into Nanami's room to check on her. Another thirty minutes passes as Taehyung brings the karaoke machine out and you're considering going to check on Jimin when you hear a loud thud come from Nanami's room.

Everyone turns their heads to see Jimin standing in her doorframe with wide eyes and a flushed face.

"[Y/N]," he pants like he just ran a marathon. "Are you sober?"

"Yeah, mostly," you giggle. "Why?"

"I think I'm drunk."

"I know you are," you snort.

"I think Nanami's eyes are open."

The whole room freezes before you shoot up from your seat and sprint into her room, everyone getting up to follow you. You push past Jimin and turn the corner with your heart beating out of your chest as your eyes fall onto your best friend.

Jimin is drunk, but he's right. Nanami's eyes are open and staring up at the ceiling like she's in a daze.

"Oh my god," Jin exhales from behind you.

Tears spill from your eyes as you pull out your phone and hand it to Jin for him to call the nurse. You slowly walk towards Nanami and Jimin stays hiding behind your shoulder, just barely poking his head out like he's scared Nanami will see him.

"Nans?" you say softly, stepping right up next to her. She blinks a couple times and stays staring at the ceiling before slowly shifting her eyes towards you.

You gently pat her head and smile, tears still dripping down from your chin. "Nans can you hear me?"

She doesn't say anything as she nods, her eyes darting all over your face and body as if she's searching for something within you. The room is tense because it's a little too early to celebrate. The doctors said it was a fifty-fifty chance that Nanami suffered either temporary or permanent brain damage, and that there would be no way to tell until she wakes up.

"Do you know your name?"

She silently nods again.

"Do you know who I am?"

She gives you another nod.

You ask her a list of yes or no questions the doctors had given you for if she wakes up, and she responds to all of them.

"They're on their way," Jin says softly, handing you back your phone. "They said to just keep her responsive. Keep asking simple yes or no questions. If you can get her to speak that's great but not necessary."

Nanami's eyes seem to finally find what she was looking for when she sees Jimin's drunk and watery eyes peaking from behind you. She doesn't react, she just holds his gaze for what seems like an hour, the whole room holding their breath in excitement and nervousness.

"Jimin," she whispers so quietly you almost don't catch it.

You step to the side and push Jimin towards her. His watery eyes blink a few times, unsure of what he should say or do. He's pretty drunk and probably can't even process what's happening.

"Baby, can you grab Jimin a water?" you ask Namjoon softly. He drunkenly nods his head and comes back not even thirty seconds later with a bottled water, but that whole time neither Jimin or Nanami spoke. They're still just staring into each other's eyes.

"Nana," Jimin finally croaks out, sobs beginning to escape his chest. "Is this real? Or am I just drunk?"

"The answer is both," you laugh, handing Jimin the water. At first he ignores you but you grab his face and make him chug at least half of it. "Sober up dumbass, you're going to want to remember this."

He drinks as much as he can before turning back to Nanami, tears still streaming down his face.

"Jimin," she whispers again, but there's a little more strength to her voice this time. He shakily takes her hand in his, trying to contain himself.

"Are you still mad at me?" she asks quietly, her eyes boring into his. His jaw slacks, allowing adrenaline to course through his body knowing she remembers who he is. He's about to answer but she continues before he can. "I got shot. I'd like to use this as a get out of jail free card so don't be mad anymore."

The whole room lets out a collective sigh as Jimin breaks down, gripping Nanami's hand as hard as he can without hurting her. It doesn't take long for the whole room to start crying, and Namjoon moves to stand behind you, gripping both of your hips in an attempt to control his shaking.

"You woke up at a bad time," you grin with tears in your eyes, placing your hand on Jimin's shoulder. "Your boyfriend is pretty drunk so I'll answer for him. No he's not mad."

"Nana," he sobs, leaning over her bed and clutching her hand. He wants to hold her so badly but even in his drunken state he knows he can't because of her healing chest. "I love you. Thank you for waking up."

You make Jimin take a seat, allowing him to stay close enough to hold her hand while you raise Nanami's bed just slightly for her to sit up, continuing to ask her the random questions you can think of. You avoid asking her anything about time, since the doctors said it could stress her out if she knows she was asleep for two months. She's still pretty loopy and probably hasn't put together that the Santa sweaters means it's already late December.

Right as you run out of questions and begin to panic, Jin comes walking through the door with a doctor and two nurses.

"Miss Nanami," he smiles brightly. "It's so good to see your eyes, they're beautiful tonight. I'm Dr. Malcolm, it's nice to meet you."

She smiles shyly, still clearly a little confused.

"Everyone besides Jimin, Jin, [Y/N], and Namjoon please step out so we can give her some space," one of the nurses says softly. These nurses know almost all of you personally by now since you've seen them so many times. Everyone nods and heads back to the living room, already getting loud again as they start round two to celebrate.

Jimin stays in place, holding onto Nanami's hand and you move around to the other side of the bed with Namjoon. You hand him the rest of Jimin's water and make him drink it, hoping to sober him up just slightly. Namjoon is a horny drunk but when he's not horny he's pretty calm. He sits down and pulls you onto his lap, squeezing you tight as his eyes stay glued to Jimin and Nanami.

"Can you tell me your full name?" the doctor asks, shining his pen light into each of her eyes.

"Nanami Watanabe," she answers, her words still a little slurry but she seems pretty coherent for someone who's been asleep for the last sixty seven days.

"Can you tell me where you are?"

"My room at my parents' house."

"Do you recognize the people in this room? Can you tell me their names?"

"[Y/N], my best friend is sitting on her boyfriend Namjoon's lap," she smiles. "And this sobbing and blubbery mess next to me is my boyfriend Jimin."

Her weak hand squeezes Jimin's which only makes him cry harder, but he's crying quietly enough for the doctor to continue. He wraps a blood pressure cuff around her arm and has the nurses take down her vitals.

"Do you know what happened to you?" he asks, pressing the stethoscope to her arm.

"I was shot by Namjoon's crazy bitch of an ex," she nods, making the room snort.

"Correct," he smiles warmly. "You really are a fighter. The bullet nicked one of your arteries and it took a four hour surgery to fix you up, but you kept fighting through it."

Nanami looks down at her loose t-shirt, pulling the neck line out a little to see a large patch of gauze up and down her chest. "Ah," she blinks. "This is why I feel so tingly."

"Correct again," Dr. Malcolm laughs. "They had to perform emergency heart surgery so it might be a while before you can move comfortably. Your heart is already healthy again but it takes around six months for a cracked sternum to heal."

"Will I be bedridden for six months?" she wines, pushing her lips into a pout.

"You won't be bedridden," he says softly, turning his tone a little more serious. "You can move around if you're careful. But you only have four months left of your recovery."

Nanami blinks at him for a few seconds. "What do you mean?"

"Miss Nanami," the nurse that visits her every other morning says gently, cupping her hand in hers. "The incident happened back in October, and it's December right now. You've been asleep for a little over two months."
