"She wants to what?" Namjoon asks, dumbfounded.

"She wants to talk to the both of us," Jin sighs. "Without [Y/N] present."

"Hyung I mean no disrespect to your family but why the fuck would I want to talk to your mother right now?" Namjoon glares, sitting back in his chair.

"I know, man," he groans, leaning against Namjoon's desk. "But she told me the only way she'll chill out with the photos is if she can speak to you. I told her I'd have to be there too."

Namjoon bites into his cheek. There's no way it's going to be a good conversation. He just got you back, he's not going to let anyone take you away from him.

"It might get ugly," Namjoon grimaces. "I don't want to upset you."

"Namjoon, do what's best for you and [Y/N]," Jin smiles warmly. "And if that means having a screaming match with my terrifying mother, then so be it. You and I will always be good."

He leans back in his chair and stares up at the ceiling. It's not like he can avoid the situation. "Fine," he huffs. "When?"

"Right now," Jin says awkwardly, gripping the back of his neck.

"Seriously?" Namjoon scoffs. "Does she not understand we're busy people?"

"She knows our entire schedule," Jin frowns. "She knows we have a two hour break before dance practice tonight"

Namjoon looks down at his phone. You'd just texted him ten minutes ago that you were going to take a nap. He tries calling anyway but he's not surprised when you don't answer.

"Alright," Namjoon sighs, standing up from his chair. "Let's get this over with. But if she thinks there's even a chance she could convince me to leave [Y/N] she's out of her mind."

"Trust me, I told her the exact same thing," he chuckles.

Jin drives the two of them to a high end restaurant in Gangnam, the trip only taking about fifteen minutes. Before Namjoon goes inside he checks his phone and there's still nothing from you.

"Come on," Jin says encouragingly. "Let's set her straight."

Namjoon's not exactly dressed for the occasion. He's in jeans and a simple black t-shirt while this restaurant is clearly for fine dining. Jin is in a similar attire, just black jeans and a pale yellow v neck. The building is small and all white, only decorated with lanterns hanging from the overhang.

Namjoon nods, following him inside. The hostess recognizes them immediately and ushers them to one of the private rooms. They remove their shoes and step inside the all white room, only a brown table and some chairs inside, Seokjin's mother sitting at the end.

"Welcome, gentlemen," she beams. She's elegantly dressed in a violet sundress and her long hair falling over her shoulders. They bow and enter the room, sitting across from her as Namjoon avoids her eyes.

"Eat up," Mrs. Kim grins, pushing a plate of assorted cheese towards them.

"We're not here to eat, Mother," Jin says sternly. "You asked me to bring Namjoon, so here he is."

"So uptight," she laughs, shrugging like the two of them are being overdramatic.

"What do you need me for?" Namjoon asks, trying to remain as polite as he can given the situation. He's very sensitive to anyone willing to threaten his relationship with you.

"I have a proposition for you," she grins, sliding Namjoon an envelope. He reaches for it but she pulls it back before he can touch it. "I will give you what's in this envelope if you give [Y/N] to Seokjin."

"Mom," Jin sighs. "I don't want [Y/N] so there's no reason for him to give her to me. Even if he wants whatever's in that envelope."

"I'm not going to want it," Namjoon glares.

"We'll see about that," she laughs, letting go of the envelope.

Namjoon quickly grabs it to tear it open.

"It doesn't matter what's in this stupid envelope, I'm not going to-"

Namjoon's jaw drops as he spreads the papers out on the table. They're not just pieces of paper, they're actually photos.

Photos of Hae-Ran and her father. And they're recent.

"I know where they are," Mrs. Kim smiles mischievously, resting her chin over her folded hands. "Give [Y/N] up and I'll hand them to you on a silver platter."

"Mother!" Seokjin growls, standing out of his chair. "The police have been searching for these people. This is a crime!"

"I don't care," she says casually, looking him right in his eyes. "It's a mother's intuition. I know [Y/N] is the woman for you."

"Have you seriously been harboring fugitives this whole time?" he grits through his teeth.

"Of course not," she laughs, waving him back. "I just came across this information the other day. The fool reached out to me and expected help."

"You're insane," he scoffs.

"Maybe," she chuckles. "But I'm insane with a lot of money and power." Her eyes dart up to her son's eyes, the look behind them making him shiver. "I suggest you start watching your mouth," she says with venom in her voice. The air in the room shifts from playful to hostile just from that one sentence. There are very few people on this planet that are able to instill fear inside Jin. His mother is one of them.

He gulps and sits back down, looking over at Namjoon. He's still just staring at the photos in his hands, slightly trembling from both anger and fear.

"You'll keep [Y/N] in the dark on this," she says sternly, her voice dripping in malice as she turns back to Namjoon. "You'll dump her and make her run to Seokjin's arms."

The panic is starting to manifest physically, the anxiety making it hard for Namjoon to breathe.

He's so angry at Mrs. Kim he can't see straight. If you hadn't saved her stupid dog she probably would've given them up to the police herself. But now she has leverage for what she wants. His fear is from the rational part of him that knows what's going to happen if he turns this down. Mrs. Kim is going to let them back into the country and you'll be in danger again.

"Seokjin, this is technically a proposition for you as well," she smiles innocently. "Date [Y/N] and I will give your friend what he wants."

Tears brim in Namjoon's eyes. All he can see is your bloody body, stabbed and beaten from that night. He would rather die than see you like that again.

The room is silent as Seokjin and his mother look at Namjoon, waiting for a response.

"When do you need an answer?" Namjoon asks shakily.

"You have 24 hours," she smiles warmly, making his stomach turn. "They move again in a week. They'll be in the palm of your hand soon after that."

Namjoon stands up to leave.

"I don't recommend going to the police," she says maliciously. "There's no proof those photos came from me and I have someone on the inside. I'll know and I'll move them immediately. I'll move them right to [Y/N]'s doorstep."

Every cell in Namjoon's body is oozing with rage. All he can do is nod, fighting back the tears and the lump in his throat. He doesn't want to give her the satisfaction of seeing him cry.

Seokjin follows behind him closely, opening up the door for the robotic Namjoon. He's moving on autopilot right now. He hasn't been this livid since he found out Hae-Ran took you and he doesn't know what to do with himself.

Jin feels awful. He's not used to being in a powerless position. He's always the one with power, but when his friend needs it the most, he's useless.

Namjoon gets into Jin's car and stares at his phone when your call starts to come through. Tears brim in his eyes as he watches his screen go dark, not having the courage to answer.

"Are you going to keep this from her?" Jin asks softly, turning the car back towards the company.

Namjoon anxiously looks down at the envelope in his hands. "I don't really have a choice."

"I'm sorry I couldn't come back last night," Namjoon says into his phone while his heart is lodged in his throat.

"It's okay, Joon," you giggle. "I'm excited for our date tonight, I'll see you at the restaurant. I love you."

Namjoon's stomach sinks, knowing what he's about to do to you. "I love you too."

After hanging up Namjoon slams his phone onto the table. "Is that good enough?" Namjoon glares at Mrs. Kim across from him.

"Of course it is," she beams. "Just make sure you break her heart. Shatter it, actually. Jin will be ready for her outside."

Namjoon's hands grip his seat so hard his knuckles turn white. The thought of you crying over him again makes him want to vomit. But he needs to catch Hae-Ran. He needs to make sure you're safe.

"You're not going to get away with this," Jin seethes. "There's no way she's going to fall for me."

"A woman's heart is easily swayed when it's broken," she smiles. "Plus you have my face. Every girl falls for that face."

"I'm going to get her back once Hae-Ran is behind bars," Namjoon glares.

"We'll see about that," she laughs, taking a sip of her wine. "I know you're already on a tight leash from your last screw up. We'll see if she trusts you again after this."

Namjoon visibly trembles from his rage. But he's already decided. He's going through with this. He's going to protect you.

They're already sitting at the restaurant you're on your way to. It's that same god awful white room as yesterday.

"We'll be in the room next to you, so don't mess this up." Namjoon's jaw slacks when she holds up her phone, showing a live video of Hae-Ran sitting at a restaurant, maybe somewhere in the US or Canada.

"Be smart about this," she grins maliciously.

Namjoon tries to contain his nausea as Mrs. Kim walks out the door.

"We'll get through it," Jin says calmly, putting his hand on Namjoon's shoulder. "You can do this."

Namjoon nods silently, stirring in his seat as Jin leaves. The minutes pass by painfully slowly and Namjoon takes the time to try and calm himself. He must've zoned out at some point because he flinches as you open the door.

Goddammit. He thinks to himself.

Of course you look incredible tonight. You slipped into a sleeveless red silk dress that hugs every curve of you beautifully. "Hey baby," you smile at him.

His palms start to sweat as you take your seat.

You chat about your day mindlessly and start getting excited about the menu but Namjoon can't wait that long.

"[Y/N] I need to talk to you," he blurts out, making your brows raise.

"Okay?" you say nervously, closing your menu. "What's wrong?"

"It's about Jeffrey," he says shakily. Jeffrey was the only thing he could think of as a believable reason to break up with you.

"What about Jeffrey?" you frown, sitting straighter in your seat.

"It's about you kissing him. I can't pretend I'm okay anymore."

Your face drops as those words roll off his tongue. "Joon, what are you talking about? What do you mean you're not okay?"

Namjoon frustratedly runs his hands through his hair. "I think it's fucked up that you were sleeping with him and doing shit with him while still talking to me. I've tried to get past it and I just can't."

You gape at him, not believing a word coming out of his mouth. "We talked about this. I didn't do anything with him besides sleep beside him."

"I think you're forgetting about when your tongue was down his throat," Namjoon glares, but he can't look into your eyes. His eyes are shifting between the wall behind you and his hands on the table.

"Joon, please," you beg as your throat starts to tighten. "I don't understand where this is coming from. I told you about that. And we were broken up."

"I'm not saying you did anything wrong," Namjoon sighs. "I'm just saying I can't handle it. I don't want to be with someone who can move on so easily."

You reach for his hand and he pulls it away, causing tears to brim in your eyes.

"Namjoon, please," you start to panic. "You know I didn't move on. This doesn't make any sense. We were fine. Something else has to be going on, this isn't you."

"Well maybe you don't know me as well as you thought you did."

Your breath hitches as you stare at him. Namjoon's stomach turns as you take a few seconds before speaking. "Look me in my eyes and say it."

Namjoon stares down at his lap, trying to fight back the lump in his throat.

"See?" you scoff. "Something else is going on. You can't even loo-"

Your breath is caught in your throat when Namjoon finally meets your eyes, and all you see is fury.

"I want to break up. I can't be happy with you."

The tears spill from your eyes. "You want to break up with me?" Your voice cracks at the end. "After everything we've been through?"

Namjoon holds your gaze without flinching. "I do," he says calmly. "I'm sorry [Y/N]. You're not someone I can see myself spending my life with."

"What the hell?!" you exclaim, standing up from your seat. "Why wouldn't you have talked to me about this?! Why wouldn't you tell me it was hurting you?!" You're almost screaming as the tears continue to streak down your face.

"[Y/N], sit down," he says frustratedly. "Don't cause a scene." He's calm on the outside but he's grateful he hasn't eaten today because his food would've already been coming back up. The pain in your voice is making his skin crawl.

"No, fuck you," you grit through your teeth, picking up your purse. "I don't fully believe you want to dump me over Jeffrey, but it doesn't matter. Whether you actually are upset about him or if there's something else going on, it's clear that you're never going to trust me."

"You're right," Namjoon says softly, knowing that's going to hurt. He refuses to look at you because he'll crack if he does.

"You're such a fucking coward," you spit, venom and hurt oozing from your voice. You move towards the sliding door and slam it open. "Don't ever contact me again."

You storm through the restaurant, ignoring all the stares you're getting. Opening the door you run into a surprised Seokjin, just like they planned.

"[Y/N]?" he says frantically, grabbing your shoulders. "Are you okay?"

"Don't touch me," you croak, trying to get to your car.

"No, [Y/N]," Jin says, stepping between you and the vehicle. "You can't drive in this condition. What happened? Where's Namjoon?"

"Don't say that fucking name," you hiss, still trying to swat his hands away. "He's inside, go to him."

"[Y/N] you're important to me too," he says softly, making your tears fall even faster. "I'm not leaving you like this. Let me take you somewhere to calm you down."

"And go running into another man's arms again?" you scoff. "Am I some sort of weak little kid who can't be alone? Or just a whore?"

"[Y/N]," Jin says sternly, grabbing your face and making you look into his eyes. "You're neither of those. You're one of the strongest people I know. Let me help you."

You grip his wrists and begin to sob, allowing him to wrap you into a hug.

"He broke up with me," you sob. "Again. Why does this keep happening to me? What did I do so wrong?"

Jin squeezes you tighter as he looks through the window of the restaurant, glaring at his mother who's standing there happily and waving.

"You didn't do anything wrong, [Y/N]," he says huskily. "You're going to be okay. I'm going to make sure of it."
