"Bitch!" Nanami exclaims, knocking the wind out of you as she wraps you into a hug. "I'm so glad you're coming. Jeffrey is insufferable to travel with."

"Are you trying to get your ass whooped?" Jeffrey scoffs, putting her suitcase in the back of his car.

Nanami pouts, crossing her arms over her chest. "Jimin, beat him up for me."

"Babe I'm pretty sure you can hit him harder than I can," he laughs, pulling her into a hug. "Now say goodbye to me."

You and Jeffrey grimace at the adorable couple kissing each other goodbye.

Nanami, Boram, and Jeffrey were assigned a weekend project in Ilsan and you're just tagging along for the ride. You haven't been on a weekend getaway in a while so when Nanami suggested you join, you were quick to say yes. It's been almost a week since Namjoon's birthday and you're tired of being depressed on your couch.

"Come on," Boram yells from the passenger seat. "We're going to miss our train."

The four of you pile into Jeffrey's car, Nanami waving out the window until Jimin's out of sight.

You've seen Jimin three times now since everything went down and seeing him has gotten a little easier each time. Nanami told you how Jimin stood up for you to Namjoon, and you cried as he hugged you, letting you know everything would be okay. He and Jeffrey also seem to get along well enough to where nothing feels too awkward. Though Jimin still accidentally refers to him as the English bastard every once in a while.

After a thirty minute road trip you're all seated on the train, yours and Jeffrey's seats facing Nanami and Boram's.

"I still can't believe all this happened over my badge," Boram groans. "I wasn't involved and I still feel terrible."

"If you're at fault then so am I," Jeffrey chuckles, handing you a chip from his bag as he sees you staring at it. "I'm the one who gave her the badge. I also convinced her to go talk to Jungkook about everything and that totally backfired."

"Was this all some sort of ploy to get into [Y/N]'s bed?" Nanami snickers, eyeing Jeffrey.

He throws his head back in a laugh. "You caught me," he says playfully.

"Give me another one," you say to him as he hands you his chip bag. He smiles down at you, watching you swallow the rest of his chips like a whale.

"The situation really is unfortunate though," Nanami sighs, leaning back in her seat. "It was just one big misunderstanding. Excluding Namjoon's Hag-Ran comment, no one's really at fault here."

"Except for that snake, Nari," Jeffrey rolls his eyes.

"True," Nanami says. "[Y/N] how do you feel about Nari?"

"She's a fucking cunt," you say flatly, earning a snort from Jeffrey and Boram. "But I do feel a little bad for her. I heard that she and Hae-Ran were friends. I can see why she was skeptical of me."

"I understand being skeptical but she moved way past that," Boram says angrily. "She didn't care if her actions hurt Namjoon as long as it got rid of you."

"Yeah," you nod, looking down at your lap.

"Anyways, no more talking about that," Nanami claps her hands together. "[Y/N], what're you going to do tomorrow while we're working?"

"I think I'll just sightsee around the city," you shrug. "No plans specifically. You guys will be working late, right?"

"Probably," Boram groans. "I'm tired just thinking about it."

"I'll make sure to text you and update you," Jeffrey says, taking your empty chip bag and handing it to the attendant.

The three hour train ride happens to pass by relatively quickly, the four of you chatting and playing games to pass the time. Jeffrey now has a new photo album filled with pictures of Boram drooling in her sleep.

"She's staying with me," Nanami glares.

"No, she's staying with me," Jeffrey glares back.

You're all waiting in the lobby while Boram checks everyone into the hotel. You're casually drinking from a juice box as you watch the two bicker back and forth about who you'll be sleeping with.

"I'm a better cuddler," Nanami smirks, confidently putting her hands on her hips.

"I highly doubt that," Jeffrey smirks back, crossing his arms over his chest.

"And I'm a better fuck too," she says mischievously.

"Give it time," he chuckles. "[Y/N] will find out I'm the better fuck."

You blink at them, finishing up the last of your juice. "I want to sleep with Boram."

The both of them gape at you, completely offended by your decision. They're about to protest before Boram steps up to cut them off.

"Sorry [Y/N], no can do."

You turn around to see her with only two keys.

"They don't have enough rooms," she sighs. "There's only two available and they both have one queen mattress in each. Nanami is in a relationship so she can't sleep with Jeffrey. So either you or I have to."

"Fuck yes," Nanami cheers.

"But Nanami I'm asking for a favor," Boram says nervously, batting her eyelashes. Nanami freezes, knowing she's not going to like this.

"Please sleep with me. I fucking hate sleeping next to Jeffrey. He's so fucking clingy."

"Hey!" Jeffrey pouts.

"It's no big deal if it's [Y/N] because she doesn't mind you touching her but I fucking hate being touched in my sleep. And you're like a gigantic muscular koala bear." Boram turns and glares at Jeffrey. "I don't get any sleep when I share a bed with you. And it's not even in a good way."

Jeffrey's jaw slacks while Nanami bursts into laughter. The corners of your mouth curve up as you try to fight back your snicker.

The four of you head towards the elevators through the spacious lobby. It's not a five star hotel but it's pretty decent, plenty of rustic art hanging on the walls to give a fun and comfortable ambiance. You're all staying on the fourth floor, and the rooms are actually adjoining, making it easier for you all to spend time together.

Jeffrey ended up ordering room service for everyone and now you're all sprawled onto Nanami and Boram's bed watching Iron Man. Boram and Nanami are already passed out, drooling in each other's arms, and Jeffrey seems to also have dozed off since he's not rubbing your back anymore.

You're leaning forward next to him, chin resting on your knees. Your arms are squeezing your thighs to your body as you look at the tv. That uncomfortable ache comes rushing through your chest out of nowhere, making you bite into your lip to stop the tears.

You've been doing better lately but just as grief and heartbreak work, they hit you unexpectedly. You squeeze your legs closer to your chest, your forehead now resting against your knees as you shut your eyes.

Knowing you aren't going to be able to control your breathing, you successfully crawl off their bed and sneak into yours and Jeffrey's room. You climb onto the mattress and grab one of the pillows, squeezing it to your face and chest and begin to quietly sob into the polyester.

You cry for a couple minutes before flinching from someone touching your back. You look over to see a faint silhouette in the darkness.

"Hey," Nanami whispers. "I didn't mean to scare you. It's just me."

"I'm fine," you lie, turning back over into the pillow.

"I know you are," she says softly, rubbing your back. "I just wanted more room in the bed so I came in here."

Nanami lays silently behind you, smoothing her hand over your t-shirt as your quiet sobs pick back up. You miss Namjoon so much it's suffocating. You miss hearing his voice. You miss holding his hand. You miss feeling him against you. And you're so fucking sick of this giant crater in your chest.

After about five minutes you start to calm down, your breath hitching here and there as your lungs try to relax.

You roll onto your back and cover your eyes with your arm up over your head. "This fucking sucks."

"Break ups definitely suck ass," Nanami giggles.

"It makes it even worse knowing we still love each other. Like, we could be together if I would just get over it."

"You shouldn't 'just get over it' [Y/N]," Nanami says sternly as she props herself up on one elbow. "You have every right to hurt and take time for yourself."

"But the Jungkook thing was my fault."

"Yes, you could have handled that better," she sighs. "But his reaction was unwarranted."

"But he's sorry and regrets it," you say shakily.

"Apologies and regret aren't what's going to fix this."

You remove your arm and stare up at the ceiling for a few seconds.

"Is me sleeping next to Jeffrey wrong? Should I not let him kiss me?"

"[Y/N], Namjoon dumped you. You're single," Nanami says, laying on her back too. "I know the only reason you're not having sex with Jeffrey is out of respect for Namjoon."

"Jeffrey and I aren't like tha-"

"Don't lie to me." It's too dark for you to see but you can feel Nanami glaring at you. "I know you're attracted to Jeffrey. And I know he's attracted to you."

You bite into your lip, a little embarrassed Nanami noticed. Of course you're physically attracted to Jeffrey. He's beautiful and sculpted like a god. He speaks to you like you're the only person in the world sometimes. The way he touches you and kisses you has brought up that familiar knot in your stomach more than once. You've thought about crossing that line with Jeffrey, but every time you do, Namjoon's eyes flash before yours.

"What would you do?" you ask her.

"Don't you remember how I got over Chul? I'd be riding Jeffrey's dick like my life depended on it," she says flatly.

"The fuck?" you hear a low voice from behind Nanami, scaring the shit out of you both.

"I don't know what fucking conversation I just walked into but get the fuck out of my spot," Jeffrey says groggily. "Boram kicked me out so I need to sleep here."

Nanami snorts before standing up, placing her hand on his shoulder. "You heard nothing."

"No, I'm pretty sure I heard y- ouch, fuck," Jeffrey grunts as Nanami grips his shoulder.

"You heard nothing," she says again, you can hear the tight smile against her lips.

"Yes ma'am I heard nothing," Jeffrey says, making you laugh.

"Goodnight my angels," she says happily, skipping back to her room as Jeffrey crawls into the bed.

"How much of that did you hear?" you ask as he slides under the covers, his hands finding your waist to pull you to him. He presses his body up to your back and takes a deep breath, relaxing himself against you as he exhales.

"Literally all I heard is that Nanami would ride my dick if she were in your shoes," he chuckles against your shoulder, his grogginess making his voice low and husky. "Women are scary."

"That's Nanami for you," you laugh quietly. "Please ignore her."

"[Y/N] I'm not expecting anything from you," he says, making you stiffen in his arms. "Things are fine as they are. I know you're still hurting and trying to figure everything out. I know your heart is with him. I'm not going to cross that physical boundary with you unless you ask me to."

"What the fuck Jeffrey," you whimper, beginning to choke up. "I've done enough crying today."

"I told you, Princess," he chuckles. "I have no flaws."

"We probably won't get done here until 7 or 8."

"That's fine," you say, holding a necklace up in your hand. "I'll just do some more shopping and head back to the hotel to watch movies if I get bored."

"Are you sure you're okay by yourself?"

"Jeffrey," you groan. "I'm fine. Stop calling me every thirty minutes."

"Okay, okay," he laughs. "I'll text you if anything changes."

"Alright."

You hang up and slide your phone into your back pocket, setting the necklace down to look around the store. You've just finished getting lunch at a cute little self-serve ramen joint and found your way to a random shopping strip. So far you've only bought a t-shirt and an oversized tote bag.

You spent most of the morning looking at different touristy spots but now that you've had lunch, you're just tired and plan to head back to the hotel for a nap. As you make your way back you pass by a local grocery store and stop to look at the different fruits outside.

You look down as you feel something thump against your foot.

"Oh goodness," you hear a frustrated voice from beside you. The older woman next to you had a bag full of potatoes that had ripped, spilling them everywhere. Her arms are pretty full with all sorts of different produce.

"Let me help you," you smile, bending down to pick up the potatoes. She's a bit caught off guard seeing a foreigner speak such fluent Korean.

"Oh no, it's okay dear," she says. "It's just not meant to be a potato day apparently."

"It's always a potato day in my book," you giggle. The woman is pretty short, maybe 5'3" and has a cute bob haircut that frames her face. You gather them all in one place and look up to see that her arms are completely full and she doesn't have another bag.

"Ahjumma, is your car nearby?"

"Unfortunately I walked," she frowns. "It's really okay. It's not worth th- what are you doing?"

You grin as you start putting the potatoes into your tote bag. "I'll walk you home. I'm bored and have nothing to do anyways."

"Honey it's really okay, I don't want to trouble you."

You are not about to let perfectly good starch go to waste. That would be a crime.

"You'd be doing me a favor," you pout, looking up at her with puppy dog eyes. "I'm so bored."

She blinks at you for a second before throwing her head back in a laugh, almost dropping more things. "Alright you win," she smiles. "But you have to let me treat you to some fresh lemonade when we get there."

"We have a deal," you answer.

You finish putting all the potatoes into your tote and reach over to take another bag full of vegetables from her. The two of you start making your way to her house as a nice breeze blows over you both.

"Are you having a party?" you ask, eyeing all of her groceries.

"Ah, kind of," she grins. "My son came to visit for the first time in a long time so we're having a feast."

"That's awesome, he must be one lucky guy," you giggle.

"Speaking of lucky guys, do you have one in your life? You're very pretty."

Your cheeks flush at her compliment, but your face quickly drops as you realize your answer.

"No... I mean yes and no," you frown. "I'm kind of going through a breakup right now."

"Just kind of? Ah, sorry to be that nosy Ahjumma," she giggles, noticing your glances. "I have to live vicariously through young people these days."

You bite into your lip, trying to figure out where to even start. "I hurt him by accident, and his reaction to it was really ugly. He said some things that can't be taken back."

"Oh honey I'm sorry."

"It really sucks," you say softly, looking at the ground. You're not sure why you're confiding in a random stranger in the middle of Ilsan, but there's something therapeutic about talking to someone who doesn't know anything about it. "He's apologized, and I know he means it. He's such an amazing guy. I'm just having a hard time moving past it."

"Was what he said really that bad?" she asks.

You keep your eyes on your feet as you continue to shuffle forward. "Yeah it was."

"If you're even considering staying with him after he hurt you like that you must really love him."

Your eyes widen as you look over at her, and you're met with the kindest, most compassionate eyes you've ever seen, making your chest constrict and your throat tighten. Her eyes give you an unexplainable feeling, making you feel safe. Like you're home.

"I do," you choke out, forcing back your tears. "I don't know if I've ever loved someone like this."

"Don't ignore that," she says sternly. "Don't ignore the hurt. Don't ignore the anger. But don't ignore the love either. It's there for a reason."

You look up at the sky, now really fighting to the death with your tears. "Unless he's hitting you," she chuckles. "If he's hitting you then bury him in your backyard."

Her comment catches you off guard and you double over in laughter, having to stop and take a break to catch your breath.

"I'm glad I picked up your potatoes," you say through your laughter. "You're better than any therapist out there."

"That's my special skill," she smirks.

The two of you walk another block or so before the woman points to a house on the end, making your jaw drop. It's a beautiful two story home, the outer walls a pearly white with multiple windows stretching up and down. Green vines sprout from the sides and wrap around the building beautifully, and the garden surrounding it is just as breathtaking.

"Wow, Ahjumma," you marvel, stepping through the gate. "This is beautiful."

"Thank you," she smiles. "Now come on in for that lemonade, I'm not taking no for an answer."

You nod and follow her inside, slipping your shoes off before setting the produce on the kitchen island. The inside has an open concept — the kitchen, living room, and dining room all facing each other. There's a set of stairs that runs between the kitchen and the dining room with a door next to it, which you assume is either a room or bathroom.

"Take a seat while I start making the lemonade," she smiles, gesturing to one of the barstools under the island. You pull one out and sit down, resting your elbows against the granite countertop.

You sit there and listen to her chat about her husband and two children, her voice filled with nothing but fondness and admiration. It's nice seeing such a beautiful family, not yet broken up by the world. The only people you know of that have a happy and healthy marriage are Mr. and Mrs. Watanabe, it brings you joy to see it from others.

"Here you go, honey," she says warmly, sliding you a glass of her homemade lemonade.

You take a sip and the sugary bitterness floods your mouth, making your face contort slightly but the aftertaste is incredible.

"Wow," you say in awe, covering your mouth. "Can you adopt me? This is the best lemonade I've ever had."

"Oh stop it," she laughs, taking a sip from her own cup.

You hear the sound of the keypad from the front door.

"Ah, my husband and son must be back," she grins. "Don't be too surprised, okay?"

"Surprised?" you raise an eyebrow at her. "I'm a foreigner in South Korea, not much surprises me anymore."

"Just trust me," she laughs.

The door swings open and two figures step through the door. The first man is older, probably her husband. His face is round and kind, his black hair messily flopped over his forehead.

The second man starts to step out from behind the first, stopping dead in his tracks as he looks up and notices you sitting there at the island. Your lips part as it takes your brain a second to process the face in front of you, the beanie on his head hiding most of his bold blonde hair. His expression is showing a similar amount of shock and confusion.

"See," she giggles. "I told you that it would be surprising."

You robotically turn back towards the woman, eyes almost popping out of your sockets.

"You're Kim Namjoon's mother?"
