"I don't know what she wants." Jaxon said on the phone, "I can't give her a grade since she's not my student anymore, so I can only assume it's money."

He was pacing back and forth while talking to his dad about him once again being blackmailed.

Only this time it was my fault.

Apparently the girl from the restaurant, Carmen, approached Jaxon about about seeing us leave together. He tried telling her another lie but she didn't fall for it.

"So you're getting him to look into it?" He asked Garrett.

I could only imagine what his dad was saying since he just told him about the risk he was taking by being with me.

They talked for a few more minutes before he hung up and sighed, resting his head in his hands.

There was silence then, me because I was scared to talk to him, and him likely because he was annoyed.

"Sorry." I offered lamely, not knowing what else to say.

Jaxon looked up at me, "Definitely not your fault. We should've never gone anyway."

"Your dad probably doesn't think that." I pointed out.

"My dad is actually blaming me. The same speech about me not thinking shit through."

This situation couldn't help but make you wonder if he was right in saying that.

We could've just waited until I graduated in a few weeks to actually date. Going to lunch was just an unnecessary risk.

"She probably doesn't even have proof." Jaxon continued, "Who cares if I gave you a ride? You're dating my brother, right?"

I smiled, "Yeah. Brad and I are happy together."

"Isn't that what in-laws do? Give rides?"

"Probably not the rides you give me, Jaxon."

He stood up from the arm of the chair on which he was sitting, "Those are the best rides."

Allowing him to pull me into a hug, I told him, "I won't tell Brad if you won't."

My gym was closed for renovations, which is how I ended up buying a visitors pass at a gym near campus.

While in the process of doing shoulder raises, I felt someone watching me. Looking in the mirror, I saw Carmen staring at me intently.

I held her gaze, waiting to see if she'd approach me or continue to stand there staring at me like a fucking weirdo.

She did the first thing, smugly walking over to stand next to me, "Hey, Kyser."

There was no need in pretending to like her, so I responded with, "Bye, Carmen."

"You'd think you'd be more appreciative that I went to Jaxon and not the Dean."

She put an emphasis on his name for some reason that was unknown to me.

"There's nothing to go to the Dean about." I replied with a nonchalant shrug, "You saw my boyfriend's brother taking me home because I was feeling sick and Brad wanted to finish having lunch with his parents."

Carmen stepped closer, dropping her voice, "I already told Jaxon what I want. He clearly likes young girls so it shouldn't be a problem."

I wanted to strangle her for thinking she could even get close to him, but I needed to remember that I was supposed to be with Brad.

The fact that she said she had already told Jaxon what she wanted was stuck in my head as well.

He claimed that he didn't know, yet she just told

me, that she told him, she wanted a piece of dick.

"What Jaxon likes isn't my concern." I lied, "Go talk to him about it."

A extremely radiant smile appeared on her face, "I already have. We're meeting at the four seasons."

My composure faltered the slightest bit, but it was enough for her to catch it.

"You should work on your poker face Ky."

She turned and made her way out of the gym doors.

I stood there for a solid minute, wondering if she was telling the truth or not.

Trying not to jump to conclusions, I reached for my phone to call Jaxon, feeling irritation rise when he didn't answer.

As I was making my way out of the gym, I bumped into someone. It was my fault since I was looking at my phone, still calling Jaxon, so I quickly apologized, "Sorry."

The person didn't respond at first, but when I looked up, Rachel was staring at me with hate in her eyes, "You should be."

"Excuse me?"

She didn't bother to respond, pushing past me and continuing on her way.

I turned to watch her storm through the gym lobby, wondering what she was referring to. Yes, Jaxon told me she wanted to be with him, and I'm guessing I threw a wrench in that, but I don't think that was worthy of that shit she just did.

Shaking my head, I finished my walk to the car, trying to get rid of the feeling of uneasiness that was caused by not knowing whether Jaxon had agreed to have sex with Carmen.

I sat in my car for a second, debating if I should call him again, or just go to his house, when my phone rang.

"Are you having sex with Carmen?" I asked instead of saying hello.

He paused for what felt like forever, "I can explain."
