《Being a Villainess is No Joke》29. Acquaintance

I knocked on the huge double door and a 'come in' came from the inside.
I opened the door and looked inside to see Raashid sitting on the couch with some papers in his hands. He gave some orders to the knight beside him before turning to look at me. The knight soon left the room giving me a silent bow.
"Blessings and Glory upon the future sun of Obelia." I said (I need to say this during one on one conversation, it's kind of like a rule) and bowed he nodded before saying, "Have a seat, Lady Adailia."
I took a seat on the couch opposite him.
Let's just quickly apologize before he sends me to jail. Maybe he'll forgive me.
"Your highness, I'm-"," I'm sorry." He cut me off.
Wait....... What did he just say?
"I apologise for not trusting you, Lady Adailia." He said looking at me seriously.
I just sat there, frozen.
He actually apologised to me.
"You're highness, you don't have to apologize. I totally understand why you don't trust me. In fact, it's me who needs to -", "No, you were right." He cut me off again, "All the things you said made sense. We only rescued caretakers and I thought something was wrong, though I couldn't pinpoint what it was." He explained, "You were right when you said I would've believed anyone of my men if they said the same thing as you, but I didn't trust those words because they came from you."
He paused, suddenly looking sad as he said, "You were right when you said, I'll make a shitty emperor."
"Okay stop." I said sternly (he is seriously making me feel guilty for saying such crude words to a kid), "I was just angry at that time, I didn't mean any of those words." (Maybe some of them though.....)
He looked at me again with a blank expression this time and I said, "Your highness, it's understandable why you don't trust me. I have done nothing but cause trouble and annoy you." I said thinking of all the cruel things Adailia did to Raashid, "But I beg you to believe me when I say I'm trying to change."
Talk bullshit mode: ON.
"I was madly in love with you. I was so blinded by love that I didn't realise what I was doing. But my eyes have finally opened, " I took a deep breath, so far so cliche, "I know I can't undo the sins I did but please give me a chance. Please forget all the stupid things I did in the past. Let's start from the beginning."
Eww. That made me cringe.
Raashid looked in my eyes probably searching for the truth in them.
Uhh...what kind of expression do I have?! Hope it's believable.
After what seemed like hours, he finally said, "Okay."
I sighed in relief and smiled at him, "Thank you for giving me a chance, your highness."
As I was about to leave, Raashid again said, "Wait, Lady Adailia, I have a few questions for you."

......What questions?
I sat back again and he asked, "How did you know that the kidnappers were in the tunnel and were advancing towards the East Portals?"
Ohh.... Shit! I was too busy cursing myself and worrying about going to jail that I didn't come up with any reason to explain how I knew this piece of information.
Thinkthinkthinkthinkthink...
"Actually....I caught one of their men a few days ago." I started.
"What?!" Raashid asked, shocked.
"Well, my knights tortured him for some information because we were sure he was related to the slavery system but the only thing he said was something about their boss's order before he died. So I thought what orders could it be." I took a deep breath and continued explaining (lying), "Since I'm... well... an expert in planning such (murderous) things and stuff, I thought of what I would do as a leader of this slavery system. Then I came up with this plan where I would attack the orphanage. It actually made sense since we caught the man near the orphanage. Then I thought we could somehow reach to the East Mountains near Peruka by using East Portals which is not that far from the orphanage. The problem was transporting children there unnoticed which was also solved when I knew how many huge underground tunnels are there in the capital. However, the only problem in the plan, which I didn't think of was - ", " How they would get past the security near the East Portals." Raashid cut me off, clearly engrossed in the plan. "Which they did by burning the Orphanage to create a distraction." I finished.
Raashid then frowned and said, "You could've informed the administration regarding this."
"Well, this was all just an assumption. Besides, nobody would've believed me." I said. Raashid drooped his frown and nodded.
"But how did you manage to stop them in the tunnel?" He asked.
I paused for a second and decided to tell him the truth, "I actually gave them the wrong information and sent them to the west while giving them fake money which we used in the class to make them leave all the children where they were." I also almost died but who cares.
Raashid looked impressed and said, "That was a nice move."
"Thank you, your highness, but may I ask a question?" I asked.
He nodded, "Where are all the children staying at?" I was actually kind of worried about the other kids. I only took Choco with me.
"They are temporarily in the west wing of the palace where other Imperial guests reside when they visit the Empire. But we soon need to find a new place since the west wing needs a proper renovation as the guests will be arriving soon after a few months for the Emperor ceremony. And at least three months are required to build a new building that big." Raashid said.
Ah... New place.... Aaha!
"I know a place." I said, "We can use Aiden's Mansion. He is not going to move in till he gets a wife and the title."

Raashid looked thoughtful, "Well, he will get his title a month after I'm announced as the Emperor, that'll be around 6 months from now. So a new building would be ready by that time. But are you sure Lord Aiden will allow this?"
"Well, he doesn't say no to me, so it's fine."
"Well then, I'll send an official letter asking for his permission. Thank you for your time, Lady Adailia." He said and I got up.
I made my way towards the door with him escorting me (this was basic noble etiquette which nobody followed with Adailia).
"It was nice making an acquaintance with you, your highness." I said, basically implying that we are at the first stage of being friends.
Raashid looked at me for a second longer then smiled a little, "Same here, Lady Adailia."
Then I happily left for the mansion (since I was sleepy and Raashid had already sent letters regarding my absence for the entire day).

After taking a short nap for a few hours, I called the Reaper to share this happy news with him. Since Raashid and I are on good terms now, he won't be killing me anytime soon.
"And I thought I wouldn't see your face till next month." He grumbled as soon as he arrived, "Why would you call me now?"
I smiled menacingly, "To rip those white hairs of their roots and burn them just like what you did to that book!" I stood up, pretending to grab his hair when he flinched back.
His expression was so priceless. He looked like he pissed his pants and I broke my facade, laughing.
"Chill. I'm just kidding." I said, still laughing.
"Don't scare me like that, kid." He grumbled though he was relieved that I was just kidding.
"Anyway, I'm not dying~" I said happily.
Ajhussi snorted, "Oh how?"
Then I told him what happened with Raashid this morning.
"Well....." He started, his smirk widening, "You weren't going to die by his hands anyway."
Wait...what?
"What?"
"You shouldn't skip paragraphs like that if you don't want to miss such details." He said laughing.
"You can't blame me for wanting to read romance and fluff in a romance book." I mumbled, "Anyway, explain."
"Well, it was written in those paragraphs which you skipped that the Crown Prince did not hate Adailia to the point he wished death upon her. That is until she started hurting Seanna and made plans on killing her. In the starting of the book, he only wanted to demote her status to that of a commoner as a punishment for her wrongdoings." He said.
"So... I was not going to die anyway. And you knew that..... But you didn't bother telling me." I said, slowly getting angry.
"Where's the fun in that?" He said in an annoyingly happy tone.
"You......ah! I'll make you pay later." I grumbled in annoyance.
Ughh. If only I read the entire book.
Wait....what would happen once the book ends? I only entered this world at the starting of the book, does it mean I'll ascend to heaven once this book ends?
"Hey....what happens once the book ends?" I asked.
"This world will continue going on its own. And... It'll be a more 'normal' world." He said.
"'Normal'?" Does he mean normal 'normal' or his type of 'normal'?
"Well, this world only has some abnormal things, like nosebleeds, heart attacks and well, less common sense and weird character names because this world's flow clashed with the book 'A Lovely Girl'. This world created the characters that would match the characters of the book and behave like them. However, this world will only follow the plot of the book to the point where it's written. Once the book ends, it will be free of any bonds and will start becoming more normal, like the one where you once lived. However, it is not necessary that it will follow the same plot since you are not the Adailia created by this world to follow the plot written in the book." He explained.
I started to understand what he meant, only a bit.
Suddenly his tone became all serious, "But you still need to survive these five months, you can die by other means if not by the hands of the Prince. This body was originally of a villainess, fated to die, the flow of this book may try to kill you early now that you have changed a lot of things in this world. But after these five months are over, you will be free of any bonds with this book and your fate as a villainess will change. If you survive these five months, you can live peacefully for the rest of your life without any threat to die, I hope."
"Ahhh... okay." I said, "So that means even though the Prince won't kill me-", "You can still die." Ajhussi finished for me.
"And when were you planning on telling me this?" I questioned him. He seriously doesn't tell me a single important thing.
"Today." He smirked.
Ughh! This annoying old guy!
"Well, I'll go. Bye!" He said and was about to snap his fingers.
"Wait!" He rolled his eyes
"Now what?" He snapped.
"I just need to talk to you." I said. I'm bored.
"Talk to your friends."
"I don't have friends."
He groaned, "Get yourself a life."
I frowned, "Oh, I actually had one but someone just had run all over it!"
He frowned and then sighed, "Try talking to Seanna, she is a nice girl. I can't keep you company forever." He said and snapped his fingers, disappearing.
I actually liked his idea so I called Seanna over for an afternoon tea with me.
Well, it went quite unlike I expected.

Fire on Fire
"This is so wrong ..." Emma breathed out against his lips when he pinned her up against the wall."Is it?" Alexander echoed, slipping his hands underneath her large sweater, grazing her lips."She's my friend ..." Emma argued weakly, albeit unwilling to push him off."Don't think about it." He merely replied, starting to nibble on her neck.As his lips nipped down on her sensitive skin, Emma let out a breathless moan and wrapped her arms around his shoulders, so that he could hook her legs around his torso, effectively seizing her in his arms. The walk to his bedroom was short, and before she could say anything, she found herself on his bed, him hovering over her. His every touch was inebriating, the way his lips knew exactly where to go in order for her to lose sight of her moral duties, the way his hands skillfully caressed every inch of her skin, as if savoring it in advance, was driving her insane. And when she met his fiery gaze, Emma knew she was doomed. She had no chance but to surrender to this devil that was tempting her, pushing her towards something that - she was well aware - would be difficult to give up on once set in motion.
