《Being a Villainess is No Joke》11. The Tsundere Mage

I thought about helping the fainted lady but then remembered that I'm Adailia and Adailia doesn't help people.

Ugh- why did I have to become that bitch out of all the other characters?

I decided to let her be after I saw some knights advancing in her direction and looked at Seanna to see her reaction.

Unfazed.

What the hell??

How can she just casually sit there and act like she did not just see the most handsome young man (craved by God himself, or what people over here say) in this world?.

How did the 'male lead charms' not work on her? I can still hear my heart thumping against my rib cage and she just casually sits there savouring her tart.

What about the blossoming flowers??

I racked my brain and then remembered. The 'male lead charms' did not work on her till they actually interacted.

In the novel, Seanna found the Prince a kind-hearted person with his way of talking and friendly gestures. She thought she finally got a friend when he defended her and went against Adailia.

Hmm.... So it's gonna take time.

I again started making plans to fasten up the relationship development between the two main characters. I figured it out that Adailia was the main reason why those two got together. If she didn't bully Seanna, Traashid would not have felt the need to protect her.

But since I'm not gonna bully her anymore(cause that's just sick and I wanna live my life peacefully), there arises a need to find another way for those two to develop feelings for each other. And it has to be today. The Ball was a vital event and basically the foundation for the entire story. If they don't feel the spark tonight, then the story would probably change drastically and the relationship development between the them would slow down way too much.

I already knew this so I prepared in advance.

Seanna will unconsciously use her 'female lead charms'. I mean she looks fabulous (even though she doesn't know it). There's no way Traashid will be able to resist her. Now I just need to get some time to talk and it'll be done. The flowers will bloom.

I looked around the hall, looking if there was someone particularly handsome or beautiful in the crowd. As I've said earlier, more handsome or beautiful you are, more important role you'd have in the novel.

A girl in violet dress caught my eyes, she looked beautiful and had some sort of villainous aura around her.

"Who's the lady in the violet dress?" I leaned closer to Seanna and asked her.

Her eyes scanned the hall and landed on the lady I've been talking about, "That would be Lady Olivia D' Elia."

Aha! I was correct! This character was mentioned in the novel.

Olivia hated Adailia like everyone else. But her status was higher than most other nobles as she was the daughter of a duke. She taunted and tried to torment Adailia but it always seemed to backfire, so she switched her target to Adailia's companion- Seanna. A companion is a really close friend and like a sister to almost all nobles, so Olivia thought that bullying Seanna would make Adailia miserable or something like that but Adailia couldn't care less about Seanna.

Soon Olivia started using Seanna as a punching bag and stress reliever, forgetting her main goal.

So poor Seanna had to suffer bullying from both the psychopaths.

Basically, Olivia was a minor villainess.

As I was busy in my own thoughts, I heard a cold voice, "Not going after the Prince?"

I turned my head to meet a pair of dark blue eyes. Aha! It's the Tsun-Tsun Mari.

Marinus Mac Eachern, the right hand of the Prince and an expert water mage. Everyone thought he had a cold personality but when I was reading the novel, I thought he was a cute character and I had a major crush on him (yeah I have crush on some fictional character, but doesn't everybody though. It is partly because fictional characters are more handsome, cooler and sexier than any man alive on this planet).

I was about to say hello when I realized he was mocking me and didn't have a great relationship with Adailia at all. Actually he was secretly trying to look out for her but because of his personality he just came off as rude. However, I think he gave up around midway when Adailia started her plans to kill Seanna for stealing Traashid away from her. But while I was on the early chapters he just tried to turn her over a new leaf.

I stared at him for a moment, wondering what reply I should give when he scoffed and said, "Playing hard to get yet again? Are you blind or just dumb? He is not going to-", "Sir Marinus." I cut him off sternly. I don't want him babbling about how dumb Adailia is cause I exactly know how much of a psychopath she is.

"I would very much appreciate if you would take your leave." I said, looking annoyed while he looked amused.

I just wanted to say, 'fuck off' but that would've been too rude.

He scoffed again and then glared at me, "I don't care if you appreciate it or not. Stop your act and move on. Raashid is going to announced as the Emperor in a few months and then you'll be done for."

Wow! Did he just really say that to me?

I mean Adailia did need an earful about it but not me. I did absolutely nothing to deal with his rude remarks.

However, I still did mind my current situation and ignored him.

He ramped on about how I should just apologize to Traashid while I still had a chance and let him get through with his last semester peacefully.

Finally after a few minutes he stopped and stared at my eating form.

"Are you ignoring me?" He asked.

No Shit Sherlock.

"Oh! Was I making it that obvious?" I said sarcastically before giving him a fake apologetic smile.

Marius opened his mouth to say something but was cut off when a cheerful voice said, "Stop it! Don't fight with her, not here at least!"

Ohh!! It was the Sunshine boy!!

He still can't keep the cheerful tone out of his voice even though he is scolding Mari.

"I'm not doing anything -" Marinus started but Caiden quickly said, "My apologies lady Adailia. I'll take him with me." He said.

Oh god! He is too sweet!!

I smiled at him unconsciously and when Caiden realised that, he turned a shade of pink and Marinus eyed me suspiciously.

The last words I heard from him were, "She is up to something, I tell you!" Before Caiden dragged him and they disappeared in the crowd.... Kinda. It's not possible for handsome characters to just disappear in the crowd.

Take Traashid for example.

The guy's shining aura can be spotted from a mile away.

I saw him having a conversation with one of the knight's.

Some mages we're lingering next to him looking at him shyly as well as admiring him.

But as soon as they saw me looking in their direction, they scrambled off.

Sigh. This is one of the villainous powers of Adailia which weren't mentioned in the novel but we're obvious. The ability to make people flee by just one look. People were scared that their house would be the next to turn into ashes.

Well, whatever.

I continued eating another pastry when I heard Seanna clearing her throat. I turned my attention to her, she looked slightly nervous as she said, "Lady Adailia, it would be better if you stopped eating since your dress is too tight."

"...... You think I'll become fat enough to tear this dress with just a few bites of this?" I deadpanned before I could even process my words. They've been starving me since morning and now they think I'll become fat with eating just a few sweets, while everyone else here is eating till their hearts content. This is so unfair.

"I-I didn't.." She trailed off trying to find the correct words.

"Just tell me if I get bloated and we'll leave." I said, "Let me eat till my hearts content." I added and she looked taken aback but nodded.

I continued to munch the last bit of my pastry when suddenly the music started.

Everyone quickly arranged themselves with their partner and swirled around the hall in circles.

I quietly admired everything from the corner of the room.

The novel world itself had its own beauty.

All were paired up and gleefully dancing but out of the Platinum Trio, I could only see Mari who was forced to accompany a cute brunette. I think they mentioned somewhere in the novel who Marinus danced with... Chloe was it? I think she was one of his friends in the Academy. And I think Caiden danced with Mackenzie, who just happened to ask him first out of all the girls lining up for him.

Caiden was the most popular guy in the Academy even though Traashid was most handsome among them. Mainly beacuse Caiden has been in the Academy since start while Traashid was homeschooled and rarely anyone knew how he looked like. Besides, no one dared to go near him because of Adailia.

So it was no surprise that Traashid didn't get a dance partner. However, what about Caiden? Why is he not dancing?

"Lady Adailia." A cheerful voice came and I knew it was the Sunshine boy.

"Yes, Sir Caiden." I had decided that I was gonna be nice to Caiden at least. He was the nicest person in this world and I can't pretend to be a bitch to him even if I try.

"Could you do me the honour of sharing a dance with you, lady Adailia?" He asked in a princely manner, bowing down with his hand outstretched.

Caiden!! My heart just did a flip!! Shit!! He is too cute!!

I was about to take his hand but then the realization struck me.

I don't know how to dance.

What will I do if I trip on my dress or step on his feet or worse, fall??

But more than that, what about Mackenzie?

"I'm sorry Sir Caiden, I can't." I replied.

His face dropped and I felt a pang in my chest and wanted to kill myself for taking away his sunshine.

"May I ask why?" He still tried.

"I injured my foot while I was on my way here." I lied. And a second later the fact struck me. I'm in Adailia's body, which can very well dance and compose itself.

Shit! I missed my chance dancing with this cinnamon roll!

But what's done is done. Besides I can't trust someone else's body, especially Adailia's, for something like this. Who knows if she secretly sucks at dancing too. Better be safe than embarrassed.

"Oh, I see. I hope you have a fast recovery." He said with a sincere smile while gave him an apologetic smile.

Caiden truly was princely, more princely than Traashid could ever be.
