《The Lonely King》Thirty-Six

Nick's POV
I watched as she ran around the kitchen frantically, trying every single batch of everything the cooks made. Every time she would grab a new spoon, which seemed to be scattered everywhere. She probably used at least a hundred spoons by now. I knew every single plate would be perfect though. She created the recipes, she trained the staff, and on top of all that, she was tasting every single sauce, salad, and pasta that went out.
I honestly could stand here for hours just watching her, but right now I had a surprise for her, and I also wanted her closer to me. The gun wound had me worried at first since I thought she would be limping around or would get tired easily, but as soon as she stepped inside her energy never fell whether that be from that she was actually fine or the adrenaline masking the pain.
She finally decided to take a break and started making her was over to where I was. My eyes traveled up from her gorgeous curves to her breathtaking smile and beautiful eyes. Her wavy hair bounced around her figure as she took out the pin that previously held her hair up in a bun. Fuck, I might need to bring her home now if she keeps this up. I took a deep breath to try to calm my raging hormones which seemed to turn me into a sex deprived teenager every time she was close.
"Everything is going so well!" She exclaimed, leaning against my chest and wrapping her arms around my waist.
"Of course it is. You're running the show." I wrapped an arm around the small of her back.
"I think I can leave now since we'll be closing for that surprise you were talking about earlier," she mentioned.
"Are you leaving early just because you want to know what the surprise is so badly?"
"Maybe." Then she stood up on her tippy toes and kissed my neck softly, which instantly sent a shiver down my spine. "Or I just want to get you alone," she teased.
"Trying to seduce me, amore?"
"Maybe I am, mon chéri."
God, it was hot when she used French terms of endearment. We started use them as a joke because the other didn't know exactly what they meant, but as we kept using them, they stuck, and I was very grateful for that. It was another thing that made our relationship special.
"Well, let's get out of there then."

Amelia's POV
"Why am I packing my bags instead of doing you on this bed?" I asked him.
"If you don't want to come, then I'll just fly by myself," he shrugged.
"We're flying somewhere?!" I asked in shock.
"Yes, and don't you dare start worrying about the restaurant because the staff knows what they're doing and I asked lily to watch everything for you. She's very happy to get to eat everything on the menu you created with all the pregnancy hormones."
I almost laughed at the image of her sitting in my office munching lots and lots of food, but instead held my hands up. "Okay, okay. I won't complain anymore. Who knows? Maybe this surprise will be good."

"You know it will."
So, I packed all my bags and we drove to the airport to board his private jet. He was very careful to inform every single person to keep the destination hidden, so I wouldn't know where we were going until we landed. Luckily, I downloaded a ton of movies to watch to keep me up since knowing him, we'd get there at night so we could sleep in the hotel.
Funny thing is...
I was so tired from the excruciatingly long flight to what I assume was somewhere in Europe that I didn't pay attention to where I was. I was basically asleep for the end of the flight and taxi ride, so I didn't notice my surroundings. As soon as we got to where we were staying, Nick picked me up and brought me to bed. I instantly fell asleep.
~*~
"You brought me to Greece!" I screamed into the room, running in from the balcony, forgetting he was still asleep.
He groaned and groggily sat up, running a palm down his face afterward. "Amelia, come here," he mumbled, stretching one arm out.
I instantly skipped over to the bed with a smile and placed myself right next to him so his outstretched arm could wrap around me. He wrapped his arms around me and let his body weight fall back onto the bed, pushing me down with it. A low mmhm came from him before he brought me closer to him and rested his head between my neck and shoulder. I used my fingers to comb through his hair as he slowly fell back asleep. Or so I thought.
"What do you want for breakfast?" He grumbled.
"You," I decided to tease.
"If you want to do all the work, then be my guest," he teased back.
"Okay," I agreed, pushing him over so he was on his back. Shock was clearly written in his eyes as he didn't expect that answer. Normally, he does basically 90% of the work and he likes it that way, so who am I to complain, but this time he deserves some love and appreciation from me.
I straddled his waist, my butt carefully lowering onto a certain hard part of him. His hands instantly came up to my hips. "You actually want to do all the work?" He asked.
"Why not?" I answered with a question, grinding against him.
Real breakfast will have to wait.

Nick said he had to go set up something for us, so I decided to stay here and head down to the beach. I laid my beach towel over the white sand, and plopped myself on it. I laid on my stomach and undid the tie of my triangle bikini top, letting the spf and sun do its thing.
I closed my eyes and relished in the calming sound of waves crashing on the shoreline and the feeling of heat spreading on my back. God, I missed Europe. The relaxing atmosphere combined with the jet lag relaxed my muscles and brain, putting me right to sleep.
I woke up feeling someone rubbing my back with some kind of lotion.
"I don't want you to fry your ass the first day we get here," I heard Nick's voice from above me, registering that he was putting sunscreen on me.

I moaned from both his touch and being woken up. "How long have I been asleep?" I mumbled.
"An hour, probably."
I chuckled. "I'm going to be dark on one side and white on the other," I whispered.
"Don't worry about that," he said. "You can tan the front on the boat."
I lifted my head up and turned toward him. "Boat?"
I got up from where I was and scanned the area. Sure enough, a sailboat appeared in front of me, close to the shore but still in the water. I walked closer to the beautiful thing, forgetting all of my belongings. I noticed, in neat gold cursive, there was a name printed on the side.
"Isabella," I mumbled.
"My mother," Nick said from behind me, wrapping an around around my waist.
"This is a beautiful boat," I commented.
"It would be more beautiful if my beautiful girl was on it," he said before lifting me up by his strong grip on my hips. I squealed before reaching to the rail on the boat and climbing over it.
"Nick! I'm wounded!" I pointed to the large-sized square bandaid I still had, which I just now realized would give me some weird tan lines, covering part of my abdomen, instantly regretting it when I saw his eyes shift from playful to guilt ridden. Trying to lighten the mood, I said "but now that I'm up here, I have a gorgeous view," deliberately staring at his toned abdomen.
A smile appeared again and his eyes held a playful glint. "All you have to do is ask and you can have all of this."
"What? I mean the beach," I smirked.
"Oh?" He raised an eyebrow. "Maybe I should teach you a little lesson then," he teased.
"You have to get up here first," I quickly replied before running to hoist the sails, laughing. My dad and I used to go sailing when I was younger. No biggie.
I heard lots of water splashing, meaning he was going to be up here soon. Before I managed to hoist the sail even halfway, arms wrapped around my waist and I was lifted into the air before I wrapped my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck.
"How's the view, now?" He asked.
"It was better before," I teased.
"What about if I take these off?" He guided one of my hands to the waistband of his swim shorts.
"Hmmm," I trailed one finger along the waistband. "I don't know, there might be some competition."
"You know I don't like to lose."
"I know," I giggled and bit my lip, seeing his eyes following the movement.
He leaned in and kissed me. This time gently, but still passionately. The slow kiss, the sound of the waves, and the sun warming my skin was pure heaven. This was the perfect break I needed from the crazy life in the city. When we pulled apart he moved away to start sailing.
~*~
After evening out my tan, we sailed back to the dock and went back to the villa to change into something nicer. Nick told me there was a beautiful restaurant up the mountain that overlooks the sea and I quote 'the sunset is to die for here.'
I came out of the bathroom after spending some time doing my hair and makeup to see Nick in a casual white button down and jeans. God, he was so hot in that. The white top showed off his tan along with his muscles and all I wanted to do in that moment was take it off of him, but I restrained myself.
"You look beautiful," he held out his hand for me to take after we slipped on our shoes.
"You're not so bad yourself," I said. What a cliché.
"Why does every single girl say that?"
I shrugged. "I don't really know. All the movies and books, maybe."
We walked on the cobblestone path and steps up the mountain, making our way around all the gorgeous white and blue buildings which covered the terrain. Many couples were already leaning against the railings of buildings, sidewalks, and pools, waiting for the pink and orange hues to begin to tint the sky.
Nick and I teased each other as we made our way up to the restaurant. Everything around us was so relaxing that I realized just how easy it was to forget about all the stresses of life in New York and take a break to enjoy life with him. He was the reason I kept my mind occupied on him and the surroundings that I didn't think about the problems back home.
When we walked into the restaurant, the hostess looked a little star struck, reminding me everyone knew who he was now. Some people stopped eating and stared at us as we walked past, making me a little uncomfortable. Nick seemed to notice as he gently squeezed my hand and gave me a quick but lingering kiss on my cheek. "Don't think about it too much."
I let out a breathe as we took our seats. "We'll get used to it," he started.
"I don't think I ever will," I mumbled.
He sighed. "You don't feel too uncomfortable about that, do you?" His eyes held nervousness and he scratched the back of his neck.
"Not enough to leave you if that's what you think," I smiled.
"Good." He let out a breath.
After we got our food, the sunset began and it was absolutely breathtaking. The pink and orange hues washed over the sky and tinted some of the white buildings. The light danced between the small waves as the sun floated toward the horizon. Live Greek music played softly in the background, accompanied by the numerous quiet conversations between the people, who were watching the sunset as well.
"I love Europe," I mumbled, mostly to myself.
"Me too," Nick replied. "If you stay with me, I promise to take you as much as you'd like."
"That's going to be quite often," I giggled.
"Your wish is my command then."
"Then, I'll gladly stay with you."
He leaned in for a kiss, one that was slow and passionate, fitting for the setting. Once we pulled apart, each had a matching smile for the other.
"I love you," he said.
"And I love you," I replied before kissing him again.
