"So much for not seeing each other for 4 weeks," I laughed as he drove to the library.
"Dr Song said you shouldn't put pressure on your chest until it's completely healed which could take a few weeks. Until then, I'll be your personal driver." Taehyung grinned at me cheekily right before fixing his eyes onto the road.
I simply smile in response, eyes staring out the window. Soon, he parked his car and we got out, hand in hand as we made our way towards the entrance. The entire place was swarming with students since it was the exam period.
"What are we looking for exactly?" Taehyung whispered over to me as we strolled through the shelves.
"Something by Arthur Miller. I need to write a paper about him." I whispered back, looking through the books and he nods. "I'll go down that aisle," I pointed towards the other end and he nodded, eyes scanning through the books intently.
Eyes glued to the spine of the books, I quickly looked through the author's names, trying to find the one I needed. Being to engrossed in what I was doing, I bump into someone next to me and with a wince I looked up.
"I'm so sorry," I quickly say, only to see Nani standing in front of me. "Nani." I called out and she gave me a weak smile in acknowledgment.
She tried walking away but I gently gripped onto her arm, "hey." I tried stopping her. "I've been trying to reach you since yesterday." I released my hold from her where she retracted her arm.
She nibbled on her lip nervously, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear as her eyes remained fixated to the floor. "What's going on, Nani?"
"Aera told me." She finally spoke out, "about Taehyung and you." She shook her head with disapproval. "I didn't want to believe it." She sucked in a deep breath as her eyes finally met mine.
"I found it!" Taehyung whisper shouted from behind me as he made his way towards us, grasping our attention. "Here," he stuck out the book towards me, barely noticing Nani's presence.

"I didn't want to believe you would stoop so low, but," she motioned her head towards Taehyung with a sigh and I stood there frozen and speechless.
Taehyung paused for a second, finally understanding the situation. His eyes dart from Nani to me to and fro.
Nani spun on her heel, trying to leave. "Wait, Nani." I breathed out, trying to explain myself but she shoved me lightly, causing the pain in my ribs to come back. I winced and Taehyung instantly holds onto me.
"You know, my first thought was, no she wouldn't have hidden that from me." Nani continued shaking her head in disbelief. "God, was I wrong." She spat before walking away.
"Nani," I sighed wanting to go behind her but Taehyung gently pulled onto me.
"Areum," Taehyung held me. "Let her go." He whispered and I groaned, turning around to face him. "Let her cool off first." He looked at me with a nod, wanting me to mirror his actions but I stared at him blankly.
"Hey," he looked down at me, brows pressing into a frown.
"Let's just go." I sighed, grabbing the book from his hand and walking ahead of him. He shadowed me through out, not really knowing if he should speak to me or not.
As we walked towards the counter, we notice Jaesun leaning against it, getting his books checked out. He glanced from next to me and I feel Taehyung's presence come closer towards me and his hand slides down my arm, intertwining his fingers with mine.
Jaesun simply nods my way in acknowledgment and I do the same as I pressed my lips into a thin line. He grabbed his books and before leaving, he lets out a casual, "hey."
"Hi," I respond, eyes not daring to meet his gaze as I stared at the book before me. Taehyung stares at this quick exchange and pulls always from me almost completely. I jolt a little from the sudden action, my attention now diverted to Taehyung who had his arms crossed as he leaned against the counter.

I got my book and Taehyung walked ahead of me to the exit, making a beeline for the car. "Hey," I called out as I jogged slightly towards him.
Before he could reach for the handle of the door, he turned around swiftly to face me. "What was that?" He instantly hisses as he pointed towards the library and I couldn't help but cough out a scoff.
I was completely thrown off, not really sure how to feel with him accusing me. I didn't know if I should feel hurt that he'd even think there was something between Jaesun and I or angry at him for putting this on me in a time like this.
"Are you serious? You're going to do this right now?" I narrowed me eyes at him, a look of disbelief washing over me.
He tapped his foot against the ground vigorously, waiting for my answer.
"Gosh, Taehyung." I run my fingers through my hair with frustration. "I just acknowledged him, what's wrong with that?"
"I thought the both of you weren't speaking anymore?"
"We aren't!" For some reason, I was yelling. Frustration took over me at that point. I needed someone on my side, if Taehyung was to turn against me too, I didn't know what I would do.
I feel my headache intensify and grimaced slightly as I massaged the temples of my forehead.
"Let's just drop it." He sighed, seeing my state and he opened the door for me to get in but I remained rooted to the ground.
"No," I shook my head. "I think I just lost my best friend, I can't have you be mad at me too. So whatever this is, let's settle it." I stood firm and he sighed, rubbing his forehead.
I feel myself losing control over my own emotions, and soon my eyes start pooling up with tears.
His eyes go soft the moment he catches a glimpse of my eyes.
"I'm sorry," he approached me, holding either sides of me. "My mind messes with me sometimes." He closed his eyes shut as he shook his head. "But that's not your fault and I'm sorry. It wasn't fair to jump on you like that." He apologised and all I do is nod.
"Areum?" He called out, cocking his head to the side with an arched eyebrow the moment I don't peep a word.
"It hurts." I finally say and he frowns a little, worry flooding his eyes. "It hurts that you think I'm lying about Jaesun."
"No, Areum-" he breathed out a sigh, trying to hold me as I tried entering the car. "I know you aren't lying." Taehyung's eyes pierced through mine. "There's just that part of me that's scared," he said and I gulped.
"And I'm sorry that I am," he shook his head, tears welling up in his eyes now.
I took in a deep breath, "I need to go home. I have to take my medicine." I said and his limbs drop limp to his sides as he released me. I got into the car as he stood outside for a second, wiping his cheeks from tears that managed to sneak its way out.
He got in the car a few seconds later and we drove in silence back to my house. "I'll be here in the morning to send you to college." He said and I looked at him.
"It's fine, really. I could-"
"Areum, I'll be here." He cut me off with a faint smile lingering on his lips and I allowed my head to drop into a nod.
"I love you." He was close to whispering as I got out the car and I turned around, smiling faintly at him too.
"I love you."
