I squint my eyes open, waking up in the emergency room. The bright light that ricochetted off the white walls making my head hurt that much more.

"Areum," Taehyung rushed towards my bed the moment I woke up.

"Oh my god," I groaned as I sat up on the bed, head throbbing and neck sore with random aches all over my body. I was still a little too disoriented to locate where my own injuries were.

"How are you feeling?" He sat himself in front of me, taking my hand into his.

"Who are you?" I looked at him and his expression falls, worry pining up in his eyes. "I'm kidding," I laughed but end up wincing in pain from moving a little too much.

"Tch, Areum!" He clicked out of annoyance, not believing the fact that I still had the energy to mess around.

"I'm fine," I giggled but coughed the next second, feeling a sharp sting to my chest. "Just a little sore. Can we go?" I asked, trying to get out of the bed, but my limbs felt weak for some reason.

"Love, they think you have a concussion." He gently pushes me back onto the bed, "they want to keep you in overnight for observation." He said and I shook my head.

"What? No, I can't miss class." I say and instantly grab my temples, my head pounding.

"You were just involved in an accident, you need to rest." As he says this, I feel something curling up the pit of my stomach.

My chest tightens and I gag lightly, and in a split second, Taehyung grabbed a tiny bucket wrapped in plastic from the ground and held it in front of me. Waves of nausea crashed against me, my stomach contracting violently as it emptied out my stomach.

I held the bucket securely, heaving and throwing up whatever was left of my lunch. Taehyung held my hair up, making sure it remained clean while he rubbed my back soothingly.

My eyes start tearing as I had no control over my body. I kept heaving even though there was nothing left to spew, the nauseas feeling still lingering in my throat.

"Here," Taehyung moved the bucket away, wiping my lips with a tissue he had prepared himself with as he laid me back down. "The doctor said that throwing up's a symptom of the concussion."

"Damn," I let out, my voice rough as my throat stung with the acidic residue.

"Drink this." Taehyung gave me a cup of water and I sipped onto it. "You need to rest, which means no classes for a few days. I don't want your state to worsen." He took the cup out of my hands, refilling it and placing it onto the table.

"Ugh," I groaned, the pain intensifying as I became more aware of my surroundings. "Can I have something for the pain?" I looked up at him and he pouts a little, sympathy staining his eyes.

"They can't give you anything yet until you're properly diagnosed. I'll get the doctor and tell him you're awake, give me a second." I nodded and waited for him to come back.

After a few minutes, he emerged with the doctor behind him. I feel my body tense up the moment my father stepped into the room after the doctor.

"Dear," my father sighed in relief as he came to my side. "I'm so glad you're okay." He gave a light peck on the top of my head as he sat down at Taehyung's seat.

"Hi Areum, I'm doctor Song. I'll have to ask a few questions and run a few tests." The doctor spoke out. He gave me a bright smile right before turning to Taehyung.

"If you could wait outside," he nodded towards Taehyung but he shook his head.

"It's fine, I'm her boyfriend." Taehyung said bluntly, stuffing his hands into his pocket, not wanting to leave my side but I freeze the moment he announces it.

I quickly glance over to my father who simply stared at Taehyung with an undistinguishable look smeared across his face.

Taehyung didn't seem the slightest bit bothered by anyone else, only wanting to know about me and my current state. "Alright," the doctor Song agreed as he began to ask me a few questions.

"So far, everything's good." He looked to my father. "Now we just need to test her vision, hearing and so on. I'll get one of the nurses." He said right before leaving the room, leaving us alone.

As Taehyung sat across my father, he stands up. "I'll go and speak with the doctor." Was all he said as he walked out of the room.

With furrowed brows, Taehyung nibbled slightly on his bottom lip, going deep in thought.

"You know," I spoke out, grasping his attention. "Us being together is never going to be okay with anyone." I let out softly and he nodded weakly, reaching out for my hand.

"I know," his voice only reaching a whisper as his thumb caressed the back of my hand. His eyes slowly trailed down to my neck where he frowned. "What's that?"

"Hm?" I looked down, noticing a faint bruise across my chest. I pulled against the hospital gown, looking at the patches of bruises that ran down my body. "They're just bruises." I tried brushing it off but Taehyung seemed worried.

"Does it hurt?" He came closer to have a proper look. "It looks bad." He sighed, faces inches from mine as he examined my bruises and I couldn't help but smile.

I give a quick peck to the side of his forehead which took him aback slightly, "what was that for?" A subtle smile playing on his lips as he looked back up at me.

"You're really cute when you're all worried." I beamed and he chuckled a little, sitting back down. I squeezed his hand lightly and got him to look me in the eyes.

"I'll keep choosing you." I say and he frowns a little, his lips tugging upwards into a smile. "No matter what, I'll choose you over and over again." And he lifted himself from his seat, leaning forward to kiss my lips gently.

I shifted on my bed slightly, allowing him to sit next to him. I leaned against his shoulder, his arm wrapped around my waist lightly, making sure not to put too much force as we simply rested in each other's presence.

"As long as we have each other," he paused as his eyes searched mine longingly. "We're going to be okay." He said with comfort coating his voice.

I nodded as I allowed myself to melt into his hold, not thinking about anyone or anything, simply basking in his touch. Even though things were far from okay, everything was more than fine by his side.
