《What lies beneath》Chapter Twenty Two

Cole's POV
Ronny and I were watching another one of my ma's soapies when her doorbell rings.
"Honey can you get that?!" Ma yells from the kitchen. I take Ronny off my lap and head to the door, opening it.
Addylin stood there sobbing uncontrollably. I quickly pull her into my arms and comfort her.
I knew I shouldn't of let her go home.
"Let's go inside," I murmur. Ma's neighbours were bitches and I bet were loving this new thing to talk shit about me. I pull her inside and shut the door. Ma comes into view and gasps when she sees Addylin.
"Addylin your bleeding," Ma says.
"What?" I hiss. I inspect her body and I see her right hand knuckles bleeding and starting to bruise. "You punched Jade."
"Who's Jade?" Ma asks.
"Her roommate," I state. "Ma I'm gonna go and get Addylin cleaned up for dinner."
Ma nods. "First aid kit is under the sink," she says.
I smile at her gracefully and then pull Addylin into the bathroom. I sit her on the toilet and grab the kit, getting on my knees in front of her, grabbing out the alcohol wipes and wiping off the blood and bacteria on the wounds. "Why'd you hit her?" I ask, softly.
She wasn't crying anymore, but her body still shook. "I told her I didn't want her staying with you anymore," she whispers. "And she said that I needed to stop being a jealous bitch, because she would never get with my ugly boyfriend."
And just when I thought Jade and I were getting along. "I'm sorry she said that," I say.
"I wasn't angry she called me a bitch," she says. She hisses, as I apply the soothing cream. "Im angry, because she called you ugly."

I chuckle. "Well I am."
"I don't see you that way," she whispers. Her hand comes out and strokes my cheek. "I think your really handsome."
"You only say that because your my girlfriend," I state. I bandage up her hand and then grab the other one, lifting myself up and then standing her up. I place a soft kiss on her lips. "Do you like corn beef?"
She nods. "Yeah."
*
"Oh no," my ma gasps. "Not Kieran."
Addylin giggles into my chest, as we all sit on the couch, watching my ma's soapie. Which I still don't know the name of.
Ronny was in Addylin's lap, asleep, which will be me in the next ten minutes. Did I forget to mention the soapie was fucking boring.
The episode finishes and ma turns the tv off. "Would you like me to set up the guest bedroom?" She asks.
I nod. "That would be good Ma."
She smiles at us both and walks out of the living room.
"Your mum is so nice," Addylin says.
"She's the best," I say.
"I'm sorry I interrupted your dinner," she mumbles.
"I don't mind," I say. "I'm glad you and ma get along."
"Do you reckon I could stay with you for a while?" She asks. "I don't want to go home."
"Why don't you just move in with me?" Her head pops up, her eyes looking at me in surprise. "What?"
"You want me to move in?" She asks.
I shrug. "Well if your gonna stay with me for a while, why not just move in fully."
"I'd love that Cole," she whisper. She kisses me and then snuggles back into my chest. "Now you can have your own personal cook," she giggles.

"That's why I asked you to move in," I joke.
In the morning, Addylin and I head over to her apartment to grab her essentials. We walk to her room and she goes under her bed and grabs out a suit case. We start folding up all her clothes and putting them in, when we hear the front door open.
Shit.
"Addylin where are you?" Jade yells.
"In her bedroom with her ugly boyfriend," I call back. Seconds later Addylin's door opens and Jade walks in.
I laugh when I see she has a black eye. Addylin got her good. "What are you doing?" She asks, watching us, as we pack Addylin's clothes.
"I'm moving out," Addylin says. "I will pay for next months rent, but after that I won't."
"You can't just spring this on me," Jade snaps. "You know I don't make enough money at the record store."
"Maybe should of thought of that before calling Cole ugly," Addylin growls.
I sit down on the bed and watch the two argue. "You cannot say otherwise Addylin," Jade says. She points to me. "Look at him."
"You are a bitch," Addylin says. She then gasps and covers her mouth, when Jade slaps her. I quickly stand up and push Jade away from her.
"How dare you," I growl, shoving her up to the nearest wall. "You never touch Addylin like that again you hear me."
"Look at this Addylin," Jade says. "He's a monster."
I groan in pain, as she kicks me in the nuts. I fall to the ground, clutching my nuts.
Man I forgot how much that hurts.
"Cole," Addylin gasps, falling onto her knees and rubbing my back. "Are you okay?"
"Fine," I croak. "I haven't felt pain like this in six years."
"If you leave we are never gonna speak again," Jade snaps.
"Fine by me," Addylin hisses. Jade storms out of the room and I give Addylin a look of sympathy, when I see her bottom lip tremble.
"I love you," I whisper.
She nods. "I know."
So after we pack up her clothes, we head back to my house, and unpack Addylin there. We were both quiet since her apartment, me being that I still had pain in my lower region and Addylin has her thinking face on.
I didn't want to interrupt her thoughts.
"So wrong," Addylin whispers.
"What's wrong?" I ask, as I turn on my tv.
"Jade," she says. "Look I will be honest, your face isn't the prettiest I've seen."
I push away the hurt and smile her. "Okay."
"But I don't care about that," she says. "I love you for you Cole," she whispers, getting into my lap. "I love your smile-" she kisses my lips "-your loving personality-" kisses my forehead "-I love what lies beneath," she says, looking me right in the eye.
"Yeah well I love you cause of your body," I joke. She giggles rolling her eyes. "I'm so in love with you, Addylin," I say. "I love that you look past the scars and tattoos," I whisper. "Because not many people do."
"Maybe it was fate we met at the supermarket," she whispers.
"Or just pure luck," I laugh. "Your not very strong Addylin."
"Well your not very nice," she says, still smiling.
"You didn't know that about me?" I ask. "Addylin, maybe we should reconsider living together."
"For god sake Cole just shut up," she laughs.
"Anything for you," I whisper. "My Addylin."
