《What lies beneath》Chapter Eighteen

Cole's POV
My shoulders were tense, as I still felt Addylin's figure behind me.
What does she expect me to do? She doesn't trust me and probably never will.
I was too angry and painting wasn't going to fix this. I stand up and throw my headphones off. "I'm leaving," I say to Addylin. "Lock the door on your way out."
"No Cole please-"
"Addylin," I growls. She steps back and trembles with fear.
Holy shit.
Jade was right. That's something I'd never thought I'd say.
"You do think I'm a monster," I whisper.
"N-no i don't," she whimpers. "Please Cole you can't leave, we can work this out."
"Not now," I growl. "I need to realise some tension, so I'm leaving."
I storm out of my house and get in my car, speeding down the highway. When I get to my destination, I storm inside the building and smile at Cindy the receptionist.
"Back already? You must of had a bad day," she says. I nod. "Let me get Rex and then you can head on in."
She walks away and I tap my fingers impatiently on the counter. Rex walks out with Cindy tailing him and shakes my hand. "He's all ready for you," Rex says. "Now remember, no one can find out about this."
"I know," I say, gruffly. I follow Rex into the cell block and my heart picks up when my eyes land on Angelo.
My kidnapper.
Now I know what your thinking. I told Addylin that Angelo was my father, but I lied to her. If I told her about Angelo, then I would have to tell her why I got the tattoo.
I got the tattoo, to symbolise what Angelo did to me. So now when I look into the mirror shirtless, I know it was his fault, to why my body looks like this.

Why I'm so broken.
"Come back for more?" Angelo asks, smirking at me, as he is chained to the wall. "Man did I fuck you up."
"Shut up," I growl.
"Can't say a lot either," Angelo hums. "It's too bad, I got caught, or I would've fucked your ass real good."
I see black as I get on top of him and punch him in the face repeatedly and I feel my tension slip away.
*
When I get home, I wash my hands, watching Angelo's blood, wash away into the sink. My knuckles were badly bruised, so I grab a bandage and some ointment and then start wrapping them up.
I hear someone banging on my door as I exit my bathroom and quickly walk over opening it. Jade stood there with some blonde guy.
"Holy shit," the guy whispers. "Jesus Jade your weren't kidding."
Jade huffs. "When do I kid?"
"May I help you?" I growl.
"Yes actually," Jade says. "You gotta spare bedroom?"
"Um yes," I answer hesitantly.
"Can I stay here for the night?" She asks. "Addy and I fought."
I open the door wider for her. "Join the club."
Jade drags the blonde guy in with her, as she enters my home and makes herself comfortable on my couch. "Dude where's you're tv?" The guy asks.
"In my bedroom," I answer. "I don't like distractions while I'm painting."
"Oh yeah," he says. "Addy told me your an artist."
It finally clicks in my head who this guy was. "Your Addylin's ex?"
"Yep," he nods. He outstretches his hand. "Kade."
I take his hand and shake it. "Cole."
His eyes go down to my bandaged hand and I quickly hide it behind my back. He raises an eyebrow at me, but doesn't comment.

I hear Jade gasp in shock, suddenly and turn to her. I smile when I see her eyeing my new painting.
"Holy shit, is that me?" Jade asks.
I nod. "Yeah."
"Fuck, your so good," she says.
"I figured since I gave Addylin one, I should give you one," I state.
She gulps. "Look Cole, I'm sorry for the way I treated you," she says. "I judged you way too quickly, when you actually not that bad."
I smile. "Apology accepted."
"So are we gonna fuck or not?" Kade asks Jade.
She rolls her eyes. "Soon."
"So what did you and Addylin fight about?" I ask Jade, quickly changing the subject.
Jade points at Kade. "Him."
"Is she jealous or something?" I ask. I walk into my kitchen, and grab them both a bottle of water and then go back and give it to them.
"I think it was more, that I was letting Kade use my body," Jade says. "Addylin hates when girls act like sluts."
I shrug. "I think if a girl wants to fuck, she should have the right to fuck."
"Thank you," Jade yells, slumping down onto the couch.
"What's your body count?" Kade asks me.
"Two," I answer. "Both before my accident."
"Wow," Kade says. "Not even like a blowjob or anything?"
I shake my head. "Nope."
"I could not do that," Kade says. "The longest I've lasted was three days without sex."
"That's sad," I mumble, subtly rolling my eyes.
What did Addylin see in this guy?
