《What lies beneath》Chapter Seven

Addylin's POV
When his car is out of eye distance, I squeal, dancing happily. I immediately stop when I see our neighbour Barbara watching me. I give her a timid smile and then quickly head inside.
Jade was on the couch watching The Conjuring when I entered. She looks up and glares at me. "Your seriously still gonna see him?"
"Yes," I answer. "I like him a lot."
I walk out of the living room and back into the kitchen, continuing my baking. As I was making icing, Jade walks in. "I don't think you should see him," she comments.
"That's not for you to decide," I murmur.
"He's a monster Addy," she says.
I stop working at glare at her. "How dare you say that."
"I'm right," she says. "Look at him Addylin."
"I don't see what you see," I snap. "I see what lies beneath, the scars and tattoos. I see Cole."
"He doesn't deserve you," Jade growls. "You could get someone better."
"No I can't," I yell. "Cole is nice, Cole is sweet, Cole is sexy and Cole is always there for me."
She scoffs. "When was he there for you?"
"He wants to invest in my cafe," I say.
She rolls her eyes. "The only reason he's with you is because he wants to have sex with you. He thinks your easy and once he finds out your waiting till marriage he will dump you."
My bottom lip trembles and tears pool at the bottom of my eyes. I storm past her and into my bedroom. I slam the door shut and lock it, falling against it and bursting into tears.
Cole would never do that to me?
Right?

I tug on my skirt as I timidly knock on Cole's door. It was 10:30 and he said 10-11 so I thought why not in between.
The door opens and I have to stop myself from shivering in delight. Cole stood in front of me in nothing but a towel.
Water cascaded down his ripped body from his hair. He smiles at me and opens the door wider for me to come in. I walk in and frown at how little furniture he had. In the living room he only had a couch.
That's it.
I walk over and sit down on it, fiddling with my fingers. Cole walks in with clothes on and an iPad in his hand.
So he has an iPad but no tv.
He sits beside me and hands me the iPad. "Just swipe through and you can see them all," he says.
I nod and take the iPad into my hands. I stare in awe at a portrait of his mother. He did her face so beautifully. I swipe left and see a guy this time. The guy in the picture had very light blonde hair and sported a moustache. The guy was throwing his head back laughing and it made me smile. "You are amazing," I comment.
"Thanks," he says. "I-I can draw you if you like."
"O-okay," I whisper, looking up at him. "Do you want to do it now?"
"Sure," he says. "Just let me grab my stuff."
He walks out of the room, as I continue to flip through his paintings. He comes back with a stand and a art panel. He sets them up across the room and then walks back out of the room and then back in with a lot of paint.

"You can-" he looks around the room and then awkwardly rubs the back of his neck. "I suppose nothing."
"I have my phone," I say. "Can I use it?"
"Yeah," he says. He grabs a stool from the cupboard attached to the room and place it in front of the art panel. He sits on it and starts putting paint onto a board.
6 hours later...
I giggle as the kitten in my video falls from the couch, after trying to jump onto the coffee table. Cole clears his throat, so I sit up from my laying down position.
"I'm done for the day," he announces.
"It's not finished?" I question. I stand up and walk behind him. I gasp at the art before me.
He's only done my face, but it was amazing. He did my blue eyes all sparkly, and my cheeks were bright pink, as if I was blushing. I was smiling, shyly, just like I always do.
He notices everything.
"Is this okay?" He questions.
"It's beautiful," I murmur. "And it's not even finished."
"Thanks," he says. "You hungry?"
"What's the time?" I whisper.
"Uh 5:30," he answers. "Sorry I kept you here so long."
"I like spending time with you," I admit, blushing. "So don't apologise."
"I like spending time with you too," he says, smiling.
Holy smokes.
I'm starting to fall for Cole
