Addylin's POV
God Cole is even more perfect. He's an artist.
My poor heart.
"That was amazing," Cole says, as he finishes off his butter chicken. "You should listen to that friend of yours."
I blush and quickly grab his plate and go over to the sink washing them. "I don't have the money."
"I'll invest," he says. "Addylin you need to follow your dream."
I feel tears brimming in my eyes and push them back. I plate up dessert and hand Cole his.
He cuts a bit off and puts it into his mouth moaning. "Addylin this is so good," he groans.
In ten seconds flat, he had shovelled the rest of the tart into his mouth. I hadn't even started mine. "T-there's more in the fridge," I murmur.
He's up straight away, cutting himself another piece.
I eat only one slice while he eats four.
He helps me with the dishes and now I am walking him to his car. "I have a question," he says, leaning up against his car door.
"Y-yes?"
"Was this a date?" He asks.
Before I could reply, I hear Jade's motorbike roaring down the street. I watch as she pulls into the driveway and Cole stiffens.
She gets off her bike and takes her helmet off, smirking at me. "You didn't tell me your friend was this stud," she says, only seeing Cole's back.
She walks over and Cole looks up at her. Her eyes widen and then she laughs. "Oh my god."
I wanted to slam my head into his car window.
"You've been through shit, haven't ya mate?" Jade asks, still laughing.
Cole's body was still tense. "Uh Jade this is Cole," I say. "Cole this is my roommate Jade."

"We are more than roommates," Jade states. "We've been best friends for years."
"Nice to meet you, Jade," Cole says. "I'm gonna go."
"Okay," I say. He gets in his car and gives me a small smile, before driving away. I punch Jade in the shoulder and she hisses rubbing it.
"What?" She whines. I ignore her and storm back into the apartment. I go into my room and change out of my dress, into my pink plaid pjs. Jade storms in glaring at me. "Addy don't ignore me."
"Y-you s-shouldn't have said that to Cole," I say. "That wasn't nice."
"Addy did you see his face?" Jade asks. "I don't trust him."
"Just because he looks scary, doesn't mean he is," I snap, making Jade's eyes widen. "He's the nicest and funniest guy I've ever met."
"Addy you can't be serious," Jade says. "You can not be seen with him."
"Why not?" I ask. "There's nothing wrong with him."
Jade sighs. "Whatever Addy."
She walks out of my room and I feel the tears stream down my face.
Fuck
*
It was 10am on Saturday and as usual I went on a morning walk. I went by the dog park and was a little disappointed when I didn't see Cole there, but it was an understatement. Jade probably made him feel like shit.
And I don't even know where he lives.
I hear barking and turn around, my face brightening when I see Ronny. But this time he was with-
That bitch from the supermarket.
You know the one that told me to go check my stutter out by a doctor.
It suddenly clicks in my head.
She's Cole's mother.
You have got to be kidding-

"Ronny!" She screams, as he jumps onto the fence. I giggle and pat him. "Oh hello," she says. "Your the girl from the supermarket."
"Y-yes."
"How does Ronny know you?" She asks, sceptically.
"I-I k-know C-Cole," I whisper.
"From therapy?" I look up surprised. "I guess not that."
"N-no, w-we m-met a-at t-the s-supermarket," I state.
Her eyes widen. "Your the girl that looked at him in horror, when all he did was try to help you."
So it looks like Cole's been bitching about me.
"Um yes," I answer.
"And the one he hanged out with last night?" I nod. She hums and tugs on Ronny. "Bye."
She walks off, so I do the same.
What a small world.

I Breathe Salt
Lacey Waits has gotten too comfortable appealing to the good natures of the spirits she can communicate with.
