I ran towards my apartment as soon as the elevator door dings, tears flowing down my face nonstop. My head hurts my heart hurts.

I run inside my room, flopping down on bed covering my face with pillow, I cried. Why, why didn't he say anything? Did he think I would never be able to find out and he would keep me in dark? He was getting engaged with Mariah, was I not so important to him to tell me about this?

All this questions wander around my mind when I heard my bedroom door creaked.

"Oli" Freya came rushing in towards my bed.

"Fre" I hugged her, sobbing. Tears streaming down ruining her shirt but she held me tight.

When I was a bit calm, I pulled myself away looking down. She wipe off my tears, "why don't you go freshen up and I will get you a warm milk?"

I nodded my head as I stood up heading towards bathroom. I looked at the mirror, my eyes are puffy and red, my cheeks has tears stain on them, my hair looks messy. I broke into sob with my hands on my mouth, not wanting Freya to worry more.

All those pictures keep flashing back, their eye contact and the way she was smirking at him.

"Oli, you okay" Freya knocked at the door.

"Uh" I clear my throat, "coming"

I wash my face and fixed my hair. Drying it out, I went back to my room where I saw Freya sitting on my bed with my phone in her hands.

She looked up at me, "Charles" she showed me my phone

"I don't feel like talking to him" I said my voice almost cracking

She nodded in understanding, as she passed me the glass of milk.

"Wanna share about it?" She asked

I nodded my head, I needed to get this out before I go crazy with so many questions.

"When we reached his house, I met with his parents and some others. A girl name Mariah too" I inhale sharply

"Is the same girl who was calling Charles?" She asked, furrowing

"Yes. The whole time he was looking at her and she was smiling at him, I thought it was nothing maybe they were friends" at this point i was crying again but I continued, "he is getting engaged to Mariah"

"What?" Freya yelled in shock

"Yeah that's what his father announced and" sniffing" he didn't" , "he didn't even deny it" I couldn't, I couldn't control it. It's hurting.

"Hey, hey" she hugged me, rubbing my back

"He knew this whole time" I cried

We stayed there a while when Freya said ,"Listen to me"

I looked at her, as she continued "don't think I'm taking his side but I think it's a misunderstanding. I have seen it in his eyes Oli, he loves you. He must have some explanation about it. Just talk to him, let him tell his side if story"

I calmed down once the words started to process. Yeah, I shouldn't decide too soon. Maybe I should talk to him.

"Should I call him right now?" I asked her,

"No, not over phone. Just go to his place tomorrow, solve it out in person and after it's solved you could make peace in his bedroom" she wiggled her brows making me laugh

"Thankyou fre" I smiled at her, she knows how to make my mood better

"Do you want me to kick your ass?" she glare at me playfully

"Noooo" I laughed.

Tomorrow first thing first, I will go to his place. Let him explain all this mess and I would be angry for a while about not telling me this but then I will forgive him.

Charles (POV)

I watched her go and I didn't even run after her. Just stood there. The look she had on her face, it broke my heart. She was crying and it's all my fucking fault.

After Liv left, I didn't go back to the party I just drove to my penthouse. I drove like crazy as her crying face kept flashing in front of me. I hurt her but if she let me explain.

Throwing my coat harshly on the couch, I went to get a drink. After a few drink I started feeling a little tipsy, but there is still an uneasy feeling in my heart. I grabbed my phone and called her.

Pick up, please. Pick up. I chanted but she didn't. I really did mess up. If I have just told her about Mariah.

But there was nothing to tell, I will never marry Mariah. I hate her. At dinner I glared at her all the time, so fucking angry for ruining my birthday dinner with my mom and Olivia.

As I gulp down the drink, I heard clicking of the heels.

I turned my head around to look, Mariah

"What the fuck are you doing here?" I shouted making her flinch. But I couldn't care less. My body burning with anger but she still kept coming near me.

"Haven't you done enough?" I stood up ready to throw her out.

But then she started crying, as she fall down on her knees.

I stood there confused.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry" she sobbed

I looked away not wanting to hear her fake apologies

"I didn't know your father was going to announce the wedding. Apparently, my father and your father made this deal and I didn't know about that"

I snapped my head at her as she continued

"And when you left the party after the announcement, my father" she cried "h-he" she stretched her arms out, showing the purple bruises around them.

"Mariah" I rushed down to her as I examined her hands. They were bad.

"He threatened me to make things right with you. Otherwise he would disown me" she cried as she pulled me in a hug. I was shocked after hearing all this. I didn't hugged her back but I remember how Jessica and I always cared about her when she was a kid. She is like a sister to me, so I hugged her back.

I pulled back, maintaining some distance.

"Can I stay here for the night?" She asked with her teary eyes

"Uhh" I don't know what to say. I'm still upset about this whole thing and Olivia.

"Its okay I get. I will just stay at a hotel" she slowly stood up, giving me sad smile and walking off

"Wait" I said, "you can stay"
