《ORPHANAGE GIRL》Chapter 27

Olivia (POV)
I just got do with my 2 interviews, hopefully waiting for a positive response. I really need a job now, a proper job, I can't let Freya pay for all the expenses.
Walking through streets, I thought of visiting orphanage as I have nothing do right now.
As I reached there, I straightly went towards Mrs. Williams's office.
"Well well look who showed up today" she said smiling as soon as she saw me
"How are you Mrs Williams?" I hugged her smelling the familiar lavender fragrance
"I'm good child, you tell. Where have you been?"
"I'm good too, sorry for not being able to visit I had my exams" I told her, taking a seat next to her.
"Oh. I hope it went well"
"Yes it did"
We talked for a while when she said something that was very unexpected
"I don't mean to pry but is there something going on between you and Mr Maxwell?" She asked looking at me with her scrutinizing eyes
"Uh- why? What happened?" I was caught off guard
"I saw you both exchanging looks quite a few times and I know that kind of look"
"I um" I didn't know what to say
"It's okay child. Mr Maxwell is a decent man and very respectful. I would be glad if you are with someone like him" she smiled grasping my hands in hers
Smiling, I said, "Yeah he's nice"
"Just nice?" She teased
"Mrs Williams" my cheeks turning red from blushing too much
"Okay okay fine. C'mon let's go meet children. They missed you"
We walked towards the main hall, as children will gather here after their classes are over.
The bell rang, signaling the classes are over, as children came rushing in.
"Good afternoon Mrs Williams" they said in Union.
"Olivia" Lily came rushing towards me with her small arms open.
I bent down to carry her in my arms.
"How are you baby?"
"Awosom" she said in her baby tone, giggling
"That's nice" I laughed
I stayed there for another hour and then went to home.
Placing my keys on the top of the table, I went to my room. I checked my phone to see if I have received any call or message from Charles but there was none.

It's 4pm and he didn't even called once. I thought of calling him but then I thought maybe he might be busy with his meetings and work.
I was about to change in something more comfortable when I got a call from unknown number.
"Hello?" I speak softly
"Hey party girl"
"Brandon. How did you get my number?" I frown clutching my phone tightly
"Well I have my sources" I bet he had that stupid smug smile on his face
"Why did you call?"
"Nothing just wanted to talk. You are my friend, right?" He said in a girly voice
"Sometimes I think you are a small boy in a big man's body" I rolled my eyes even tho he can't see me.
"Girls love this"
"Anyway, do you know where Charles is?" I asked him as he might know where his friend is
"Charles? Ahem ahem"
"Brandon" I said sternly
"Geez woman, cool down. He might be in his office"
"Yeah thought so, he didn't call so I was worried"
"Aww sucha perfect caring girlfriend" there he goes... wait how did he know about the girlfriend thing? Charles might have told him.
I rolled my eyes not replying anything
"Stop rolling your eyes"
My eyes widened, how did he..?
"Well I have super power" I could picture him smiling on the other side of phone
When I didn't reply he said, "Why don't you go to office? He will feel nice, surprise him"
My mind registering his words, "I don't know, it would be awkward"
"Girl, you're his girlfriend. Just go"
"Umm, I will think about it"
"Not think. He really need someone to talk right, so go"
I wanted to ask what does that mean. Did something happen?
"Okay" still thinking about it.
"Yeah now bye, I'm out with Sarah, shopping" I can heard a grunt in his voice,
"Is that Olivia?" I heard Sarah voice
"Hey Olivia"
"She has an important thing to do. Talk later" before I can speak Brandon interrupted
"Okay okay. Take care Olivia" Sarah said sweetly
"Yeah you too" and ended the call.
I just sat there on my bed thinking if I should go or not.

My head still playing Brandon's word," he really need someone to talk right now"
I fixed my hair, then went downstairs grabbing the key I walked out of the door locking behind.
The cab came to halt, stopping in front of a tall building. Maxwell Enterprise, written in a big bold letters.
I slowly climbed out of cab, my eyes concentrated on the big glass building. I pulled my leather jacket closer, stepping inside.
My eyes wandering around this big place, when someone interrupted me
"Ma'am, how can I help you?" A receptionist sitting behind the desk asked me.
"Um, I wanted to see Charl- Mr Maxwell" I said nervously
"Do you have an appointment ma'am?"
"Um. No"
"Then I'm sorry ma'am you can meet him"
"I uh" I open my mouth to explain her when I got interrupted
"Ava, let her come" a lean guy with glasses on walked towards us.
"Okay sir" then she smiled at me but it didn't reached her eyes.
"Miss Evans" he gestured his hand forward.
"How do you know my name?" I asked him getting inside the elevator.
"I saw you with Mr. Maxwell when I bought food, you were inside the car. So you might not remember"
I remember Charles said he asked his assistant to bring those food when we were at the cliff gazing at the city lights
"Now I remember"
"By the way, I'm Joey" he smiled pushing his glasses back.
"Nice to meet you" I don't what else to say.
He looked amused by my reply but didn't say anything further.
The elevator door dings, we stepped out walking towards the end of the hallway.
"You can go in" he stopped in front of a large wooden door
"Does he knows I'm here?" I asked thinking my surprise is not ruin.
"No" with that he left
I took deep breaths, then I pushed the large door open.
"I told you don't fuckin-" he stopped when his eyes fell upon me.
His angry eyes subsided by a soft look, "Olivia"
I smiled at him taking small steps towards where he is standing. He ended the call.
He stood up from his chair, marching forward. He wrapped his arms around me tightly.
He sigh in relief, resting his chin on my head. I rubbed his back smoothly, loving the warmth I'm getting from his body.
"Are you okay?" I asked concerning
"Now I am" his voice was mumble as we were still in each other's arms
After a while we pulled apart, he grabbed my hands pulling me towards him. He slightly sat on the desk, capturing me by his hands on my waist.
I was beyond nervous, I am still not used to all this feeling and sometimes it's so overwhelming. To calm myself I looked around at the beautiful yet modern interior of his office.
Grey wall, a glass table in the center of the room, and soft velvet sofa in front of swivel chair. A big grey curtain covering half of the big window, a table on it's side with a lamp placed on it. Wooden wall furniture giving the entire office a magnificent look.
This office is exactly describes his personality, boldly sophisticated and elegant.
I turn my eyes back at Charles to see he was looking at me this whole time. My cheeks turn red, smiling a little.
"You look cute when you blush" he softly tap on my nose.
Just a small compliment from him, my heart started to race wildly.
"What happened?" I remember how angry he was when I walked in.
He raised him brows in confusion
"You seemed angry before. Everything okay?"
His eyes color change to dark, clenching his jaw trying hard to control something.
"Nothing. Just work load" he said after a pause, giving me small smile.
Not wanting to press any further, I placed my hand on his cheeks.
He lean in it, closing his eyes.
I took my time and look at every feature of his face.
This man is heavenly beautiful.
"Liked what you see?" He smugly said, his eyes still close
"Yeah, it's all mine now" I don't know how that sentence just slipped out of my mouth
He opened his eyes, surprised by my response.
"I-uh"
Before I can finish the sentence, he pressed his lips on mine, to which I gladly return back with same passion.

Needletongue, Carrotcake
The world isn't fair. If anything, the inherent injustice of the world is what separates it from the fiction we so adore. Luis Freighthold knew this all too well, and that was why it took a bit longer than it should have to realise when he suddenly had everything he could ever have wanted. Raised in a working-class single-father home, Luis had no other escape than fiction. Specifically, vampire stories of varying quality and genre. There was something appealing about the ability to fly, turn into shadows and become smoke. Danger. An unfamiliarity with the social world that rejected him so. Was it so wrong for him to hope for a different life? Maybe, maybe not. Either way, now he had it—a lust for blood and abilities beyond the understanding of civil man. Could you really say that he had anything left to complain about? A vampire story following an unconventional vampire boy forced to accept that maybe becoming a vampire doesn't magically solve all your problems. As a matter of fact, it might just make a whole bunch of them even worse. Regardless, Luis is prepared to try everything to live up to the vampire books he had previously gorged on. What did it matter that his vampire form had no teeth, replaced instead by a long, needle-tipped tongue? He was still a vampire, wasn't he? Chapters are around 10 A4 pages long, releasing once a week on Mondays, 01:00 CET.
