《The Girl Who Never Smiles | ✔️》Chapter 8

It's 9:35 and I am waiting outside my house on the porch for Issac to show up. I have no idea what he has got in store for tonight, but for some reason I am just going with the flow.

It's a chill night, not too hot and not too cold. I am wearing a cropped black sweatshirt and gray shorts and my black combat boots.

2 minutes later and a red volvo car rolls up in front of my house. I walk up and hop in the car to see Issac with a mischevious smile on his face.

"I figured you would be the type of guy to have a porsche. You are full of surprises Issac Evans."

"I do have one, but at where we are going, a porsche would draw too much attention and the car would probably be stolen in 5 minutes" He says and drives off the lot and on the street.

"Just answer this one question....Do i need to put my hair up because I thought today would be a good day to keep my hair down and just let loose but-"

"Bay!" He says and laughs. "You look good with your hair down." He looks over at me and its impossible not to get captivated by Issac's blue/grey eyes. You don't even know what color they are and you just want to keep staring into them until you could figure it out.

"You are always complimenting me. I'm going to start thinking you have a little crush on me" I say and tuck a strand of my curly hair behind my ear.

He starts to laugh. "Confident, i like it. I didn't know it was a crime to compliment a pretty girl."

"I never said it was a crime Issac." My phone pings in my pocket and I take it out to see a text from Zoe.

I may or may not be in a car with Issac Evan's driving to the unknown.

Yeahhhh

Cover for me please.

I do. Thank you. XO

"Did you get caught already? I thought you were the type of girl who knew how to sneak out." He says and shakes his head.

"And I thought you were the type of guy who was an asshole inside and out but i guess we are both wrong about things." A small smile plays on his lips as he looks ahead driving to wherever he is taking me.

"So are you going to tell me where we are going, even a slight hint?"

"Let me think.......no"

I scoff in disbelief.

"The golden boy knows sarcasm."

"There are a lot of things you don't know about me Bay Stewart."

"And there are a lot of things you don't know about me"

"Are you going to tell me any of them?"

"That depends...are you going to tell me where we are going tonight?"

"No"

"Then i guess you will live wondering, 'Who really is Bay Stewart?'" I say with a smirk on my face. He looks over at me and his eyebrows crease together, something he often does when he is confused or thinking about something.

"Since we first met, you have smile 7 times. This would make it 8"

"You have been counting how many times I have smiled?" I ask in confusion.

I don't know whether to be creeped out or flattered.

"Bay, I have never seen you smile. Ever. Not in middle school, not in freshman year, sophomore, or junior year. And then I finally see the one thing that adds to your beauty: your smile. It's absolutely captivating and you don't even know it. Of course I am counting. I am counting every time the room lights up with your smile. 8 times in what...7 years. I'm glad that I am able to witness something so small to some people, but damn. It's the whole world and you don't even realize it."

Flattered it is.

My cheeks, neck, and ears begin to heat up like they are being warmed.

"Are you blushing?" He says and looks over at me.

This is the epitome of embarrassment.

"Keep your eyes on the road!! I don't want to die at 17 years old!" I yell and hide my face with my hair and look towards the window. Issac chuckles beside me and I have the urge to glare at him, but I know it will just reveal my red cheeks.

Since when does Bay Stewart blush?

About 45 minutes later and we reach to this all brown brick building. It looks like an abandoned brick building.

"Did you take me here to kill me!?!"

Issac's eyes widen and he looks at me like I am a mad woman.

"What the hell Bay?"

"Am i wrong?"

"YES" He rolls his eyes and hops out the car. He comes to my side and opens the door and I step out trying not to fall flat on my place. We walk to the side of the building and Issac knocks on the door. A panel on the door slides open revealing a set of dark green eyes.

"Password." the gruff voice says.

"Wet like water"

The man slides the panel back closed and opens the door. Issac snakes his arm around my waist and guides me inside. We walk through a hallway and I can hear loud music blaring and lots of people. On the wall is splatters of colorful paint and clothes soaked in paint and color.

"Wet like water?" I ask and look at Issac.

"The girl who made the password was very.....promiscuous." And that's all he says about the password.

"So where exactly are we?" I ask.

"One of my favorite places on Earth." He says with a smile on his face. "You ready?"

"I don't know what I am walking into soo-" Before i could finish my sentence, Issac has opened the doors to whatever and all I see is smoke and hear loud deafening music. Through the smoke, I could see many colors of light.

Red

Yellow

Pink

Green

The whole rainbow. When I pass the fog, I can see what looks like hundreds of people. All of them wearing glow necklaces around their necks. They are dancing and jumping to the band playing on this wide stage. On the ceiling are those machines that give lights of different colors and it lights up the dark room. A pair of cold fingers touch my neck and shivers run through my body and I turn around to see Issac. He flashes me a smile and then continues doing something. He puts a glow necklace on me. I look to see that he has one too.

"Come on!" he says over the music and i take his hand and follow him. We stop in front of a bar and i look up at Issac.

"It's a school night."

"One drink won't hurt you." he says. "Trust me. I'm not drinking."

"I have never-"

"I know, but you agreed. It's our deal"

Should I trust him?

"FINE! Nothing too strong, but nothing too light. And if I am a lightweight and I end up drunk and you don't take care of me, I will have Zoe kill you."

"Gotcha. 2 shots of tequila please"

"I thought you said one drink."

He ignores me and looks out into the crowd.

"It's gonna start soon." The bartender says and pushes us the two glasses of alcohol.

What if I make a joke of myself while I am under the influence?

My stomach is in knots as Issac places the two small glasses of tequila in front of me.

"It won't kill you." He says with a smirk on his face.

Well your face says otherwise

I pick up one glass and quickly down it all at one time and the liquid burns like fire as it runs freely runs down my throat. My face scrunches up like I tasted something sour and Issac starts laughing at me. I flip him the bird and down the next shot glass and it still taste foreign on my tongue. After I downed both shots, I start coughing out the bad taste and Issac pats my back.

My head begins to feel fuzzy. Fuzzy like a nice blanket. I hop off the bar stool and Issac leads me to the crowd where people are laughing and dancing while listening to the band.

"Can you dance?" Issac asks.

"I can surely dance. Imma dance master. Watch me" I say and start jumping up and down, doing the macarena, and a bunch of dumb crap. Issac take his phone out his pocket and starts videotaping me.

"NOOOO" I yell and jump to try to get his phone, but he pulls it away from me and raises it high.

"No fair. You are tall." I pout and turn away from him and start moving myself with the music. I copy what the people in the crowd are doing and i jump and dance to the music. I can feel that the climax of the day is reaching. The tension in the air is thick while everyone awaits for something to happen.

For some reason, I begin to feel overly excited and my insides bubble with excitement and happiness.

"Dance with me Issac!" I yell over the loud electronic music. I walk over to him and hold his hands and I start twirling myself around in his hold. Laughter bubbles out of me and I can't stop laughing. Issac's deep chuckles can be heard despite the loud music and noise.

"You are definitely a lightweight." He says.

"Am not" I say and he twirls me out and back over to him. I begin dancing and jumping around with him while we listen to the music. 6 girls wearing nothing but a crop top and shorts that look like underwear walk out with these big guns. They begin to spray the crowd and paint shoots out of the gun like sprinklers raining over the grass. Paint splashes all over me everywhere and blinds my sight. Loud bubbly laughs escape my mouth and i twirl around letting the paint soak me.

And for once in my life, I feel carefree. I feel light like a cloud. I haven't felt this way since I was 11.

I look over to Issac and he is completely soaked in paint, but despite that he is videotaping me with a handsome smile on his face. His dark hair has been splashed with pink, blue, yellow, and green and the same goes for his all black clothes.

"STOP VIDEOTAPING ME! YOU SHOULD BE HAVING FUN TOO!!!" I scream over the music. These machines attached to the ceiling start spraying out paint mist as well and I just stand there with my eyes closed and let the paint soak me with the biggest smile on my face.

I finally feel free. For the first time, I am not the girl whose dad left her family. I am just a girl in a club enjoying being soaked by paint and becoming my own art.

My clothes cling to me like second skin and it feels heavy on me.

That's probably why people usually take off their clothes.

The crowd goes wild as they begin to get sprayed and soaked by paint and the dancing, the singing, the fun, it all continues.

I wipe the paint from my eyes and look over to Issac who is no longer videotaping me and is wiping his eyes as well.

"This is the coolest thing ever. How could I not know about this!"

"You have been living under a heavy rock, but me being as strong as Superman has come to lift the rock off of the damsel in distress" he says with a cocky smirk on his face.

"Won't the paint mess up the car?"

"I have someone who can wash the paint out the car." He says and I nod my head. "We should get going. It's a school night after all." Issac says and leads me out the building. When we are out the building, the cool breeze cools me down from the hot environment I was previously in. We walk to the car and get in. The time says that it is 11:45.

It felt like I was in there for 8 hours not an hour and change.

"Had fun?" Issac asks with a smirk on his face.

"Yeah. Thanks for this."

"Anytime Bay"

....

I close my locker shut as lightly as I can so that I won't make too much noise and Zoe looks at me skeptically.

"Do you have a hangover?"

"Yes Zoe." I say and bite back the sarcastic comments I wanted to say, having no energy at the moment. "2 drinks. That's all"

"Lightweight"

"I like your hair."

"Thanks. I'm surprised you got the paint out of your hair" she says, but before I could respond to her, Asher and Issac walk over to us and Asher looks at me with a confused expression.

"Woah what bus ran over you and dumped you in a ditch?" He says and opens his locker.

"She is hungover" Zoe says to him calmly. My eyes widen in surprise at how calm and collected she is acting around her long time crush.

Asher looks at her and then quickly gives her a once over. Obviously impressed, he asks her, "And what's your name?"

"Zoe. Zoe Stewart."

"You a senior?" he asks and takes out his books from his locker and slams it shut making me wince in pain. Issac chuckles behind me and I punch him in his arm.

Of course the little bastard feels no pain.

"Yeah."

Zoe and Asher then engage in their own conversation and Issac asks me, "So how are you feeling? You look great by the way." He has a smirk on his face and i just want to punch him in the face.

He got me drunk for Christ sakes.

"Do i look good to you Issac? I have bags under my eyes? My head feels like it's going to explode any minute now. And you guys make so much noise. The whole damn school makes noise. I am never drinking again."

"Says every alcoholic and teenager." he says and the smirk that plays on his lips irritates me to the bone. I glare daggers at him and hold my books closer to my chest.

"Would it make you feel better if I bought you ice cream after school?" he asks.

"Hmmm maybe"

"You know what I realized about you? You like to play hard to get."

"I don't play hard to get. I am hard to get"

The bell rings and I hold my head in pain and lean my head against Issac's chest. His chuckles vibrate through his chest and making me feel more relaxed. He rubs my back soothingly.

From behind me, I hear Zoe and Asher laughing while they are talking to each other.

I'm glad that it's working out, but Asher is still a man-whore and Zoe may let down her guard, but I certainly will not.

"Who's this?!" A high pitched voice says behind me and I lean up from Issac and turn around to see Sienna looking at Asher and mostly Zoe in disgust.

"Sienna..."

"Who are you?" Sienna says and looks at Zoe from head to toe in disgust. I step towards her and her eyes look away from Zoe and to me.

"Who the hell do you think you are talking to?" I ask with venom laced in my words.

"I could ask you the same question homewrecker." Sienna bites back and then looks at Asher.

We are so going to be late to class.
