《The Fighter》Chapter 11

When I woke up there was a little body lying next to me. I looked and saw that Mason was in bed with me and I saw a note where Titus's pillow was.

He heard me leaving and I had to convince him to stay by telling him to go lay down with you, I will be back in a couple of hours, I have to prepare for the fight tonight.

-Titus-

I smiled at the note and couldn't believe how drastically my life has changed in a month. I went from spending every day in my room alone in my pajamas, to dating a sexy fighter with an amazingly sweet boy who I absolutely adored.

I got out of bed and I brushed my teeth and I looked and saw that Titus had made coffee so I poured myself a glass and added a bit of milk and sugar. I then decided to make eggs, bacon, and pancakes for breakfast.

At around 8:40 Mason woke up and walked out rubbing his eyes.

"Hey sleepyhead," I said and Mason smiled up at me.

"I thought you had left," Mason said, and I picked him up and hugged him.

"I would never leave you, Mason," I smiled and he held out his finger.

"Pinky promise," He said and I grabbed it with mine.

"I pinky promise," I said and before I could put him down Titus walked in the front door and Mason waved at him, and he smiled at both of us.

"Good morning," He said and he walked over and kissed Mason, and then me on the forehead.

"I made breakfast," I said, placing Mason down and handing him his juice, and he walked over to the table carefully.

"Perfect, because I am starving," he said, kissing my neck, before grabbing his and Mason's plate. I grabbed mine and we all sat down together.

"Grandma Marie is back, so I am going to bring you there at around 8 so I can go to my fight," Titus said and Mason frowned.

"Why can't I go," Mason whined and Titus looked at him as he took a bite of pancake.

"It is too late," Titus said and Mason pouted.

"Quinn, can I go?" Mason asked and I found myself thrown in a super uncomfortable situation.

"I think you should listen to your Dad," I said, taking a sip of my coffee not wanting to contradict Titus.

"I thought you were my friend," Mason said, before storming off and Titus yelled at him to come back.

"I am so sorry, he sometimes catches an attitude," Titus said, going to talk to him but I stopped him.

"Let me try," I said and he looked at me for a second before nodding. I walked into Mason's room and he was pouting on the bed. I knocked on the door.

"Can I come in?" I asked and Mason nodded his head.

"I am your friend, but you still have to listen to your Dad," I said to Mason who looked up at me.

"But I am always okay at his fights," Mason said and I looked at him.

"That is true, but anything could happen. Remember last time when you hurt your head," I pointed out and he frowned.

"I guess. I just like to watch him work," Mason said and I hugged him.

"I know, why don't you apologize?" I asked him and he ran out of the room and gave his father a hug.

"I am sorry, I can go to Nanny Marie's house," Mason said and Titus pulled him in tightly, his arms flexing as he hugged him. I sat down at my seat watching them.

"I love you buddy, and as long as you stay right next to Quinn you can go tonight," Titus said and Mason looked up at him excitedly.

"Really?!?!?" Mason said and Titus nodded his head and Mason hugged him again.

"Are you and Quinn married now?" Mason asked when he let go and I almost choked on my coffee.

"No buddy," Titus responded and Mason looked at me.

"So you guys aren't kissing?" Mason asked and my face must have gone bright red.

"We are kissing but usually people date, get engaged, then get married," Titus said to Mason.

"So you are dating?" He asked Titus and Titus looked at me and I shrugged my shoulders.

"Yes, we are," Titus said to Mason who smiled.

"So you will one day get married?" Mason asked and Titus picked him up and hung him upside down.

"You ask too many questions," Titus said and Mason giggled. Titus threw him on the couch and then joined me at the table. He leaned over and kissed me, and then went back to eating.

"I can drop you off at your apartment at 8 and have Ryan come and get you at 9, he is going to sit with you and Mason at the fight," Titus said to me.

"Mason can stay with me after you drop me off," I offered and Titus looked at me.

"Are you sure, I don't want to keep using you as a babysitter," Titus said to me and I nodded my head.

"I don't mind at all," I said and we cleaned up the dishes together. We spent the rest of the day relaxing and at around 7 I was making dinner for Mason and me while Titus took a shower. I made chicken, rice, and broccoli for Mason because Titus told me he usually didn't eat until after a fight.

"Come sit down," I told Mason who walked over so I could serve him his food. I made myself a small plate and I ate before putting all of the leftovers away. Mason ate his food quietly and then he handed me his plate.

"I am going to go get ready," He told me and I nodded my head. After I finished cleaning up I walked into Titus's bedroom where he was doing pushups. He finished a few more before sitting up.

"Pre-fight ritual?" I asked and he kissed me.

"Just a small one," he said and I smiled at him.

"If you win tonight I will sleep over again," I said to him and he looked at me suggestively.

"And what will we do tonight?" He said and I climbed onto his lap. I whispered some options into his ear and he flipped us so he was on top.

"I hold you to that," He said and he leaned down to kiss me.

At 8 Mason and I were dropped off at my apartment. I unlocked my door and Mason looked around my apartment at everything.

"I like it," he said and I smiled at him.

"Want to watch something?" I asked him, knowing I had to get ready. I put on Cars 2 for him and I went into my room and I changed into leggings and a cream-colored sweater. I put my hair up into a bun and I grabbed a small backpack and I put an extra pair of clothing and my pajamas in there.

I checked on Mason and he was watching the movie intensely and I smiled and continued getting ready. I put on perfume, some mascara, and a necklace and I looked at my phone and I saw it was already 8:50.

I walked out and I saw that Mason had fallen asleep and I smiled at him. I heard a knock. I opened the door and I saw it was Ryan, who I had met at Mason's party the other day. He had black hair and brown eyes and was almost as tall as Titus.

"I have Titus's car, are you guys ready?" Ryan asked and I put on my brown boots and I picked up Mason throwing his jacket over his sleeping body.

"He fell asleep, " I explained and Ryan helped me lock the door. I got Mason buckled in his car seat and I covered him with his jacket.

"It is nice to see Titus have someone in his life that takes care of him and Mase," Ryan said as we started to drive and I smiled at him.

"They take care of me too," I said, and I noticed that Ryan got to park in the bottom parking lot where there were only two other cars.

I woke up Mason who was still tired, and I helped him put on his jacket. I left my bag in the car and I picked up Mason and he cuddled up to me still half asleep.

We walked into the building and Ryan brought us to the back where Titus was hitting a punching bag while listening to Coach. Titus saw us and gave me a smile, and he walked over to us.

He surprised me by kissing me in front of everyone. He then looked at Mason who had fallen asleep again. He ran his hand through Mason's hair, smiling at his son.

"He passed out on my couch while watching Cars 2," I said while Titus woke up Mason, who smiled at his Dad and he moved to Titus's arms. I took off my coat. And I took Mason's coat as well and Titus told me where to leave them.

I watched as Mason and Titus talked with each other and I could hear the crowd get louder above us and I smiled at the thought of everyone waiting for Titus to come out. Coach walked over to me and gave me a pat on the back.

"It is good to see Mason have a mother figure," Coach said to me and I smiled at him.

"I am so happy to have both of them in my life," I said and Titus looked at me and Mason did too and they both smiled.

"You are on in ten," A man said to Titus whose face turned serious. I walked over to them and I grabbed Mason's hand.

"Say goodbye we have to go out now," I said, and Mason gave Titus a good luck hug.

"Good luck," I said to Titus, who pulled me into a hug.

"Okay, I will see you both later," Titus said, and I took Mason into my arms. We walked out following Ryan who brought us to two seats. Mason sat on my lap, excited to watch his Dad in action. I was in the aisle and I was excited when the lights dimmed.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the biggest fight this week!!!! Our challenger today is from Boston. At 6'2 and weighing 210 lbs please welcome Ray Charles," The announcer said

And the crowd half booed and half cheered. Mason let out a loud boo and I laughed as Ryan joined in. Ray was pretty muscular and he seemed quick as he let out a few practice punches.

"And for our champion standing at 6'5 and weighing 200lbs please welcome Titus King," the announcer said and out walked Titus. He was focused and had his eye on the pride. Mason stood up cheering and he walked past us, giving Mason a quick fist bump, not even looking at him.

He got into the ring and he stretched to work out any last tight muscles. I felt even more nervous than before as I waited for it to start. The announcer started them and they both got into position.

They did a couple of circles and finally, Ray went for the first punch. He missed Titus who took this opportunity to hit him right in the ribs. Ray went to block his side which then Titus took the opportunity to hit him in the face.

Ray sent two fast hits to Titus's face, one of them cut above his eye and he started to bleed. Titus blindly sent a throw and it only hit Ray's shoulder. Titus wiped his face and was able to return the favor and hit Ray in the nose causing him to start bleeding.

They seemed equally injured and Mason grabbed onto my hand nervously and I returned the squeeze just as worried. Titus hit Ray in the face again which sent him stumbling. And Ray hit Titus right in the side and Titus stumbled back too.

Finally, Titus stepped forward and he hit Ray, and down he went. The crow went wild as they announced Titus the winner and he celebrated for a moment before he passed out in pain. I could feel Mason digging his fingers into me, worried about his father.

"It is okay, he was just in pain," Ryan said to us as the crowd started to leave. We watched as they got the medical team to take care of both parties.

I picked up Mason who was starting to cry as he looked at his Dad unconscious and Ryan brought us over to Coach who was pacing next to the rope. I rubbed Mason's back as he let out a few whimpers trying to be strong but scared shitless of his Dad laying there passed out.

"Hey! Mason Dad will be just fine, sometimes the body just shuts down when in pain," Coach said to Mason who was now crying.

"Is he going to the doctors to get better, like I did with my arm?" Mason asked me and I nodded my head trying to be strong for him.

"Yes exactly! He will be okay," I said to Mason as I rubbed his back and he wiped his tears. I tried to hide the ones starting to break the surface, as my hands were starting to shake. Coach looked at me and rubbed my arm supportively as we waited for them to finish helping Titus.

"Not a good look for the next fight huh," I heard an annoying voice behind me and I turned around and I saw Jason who was holding up a completely drunk Megan who could barely keep her eyes open.

Ryan stepped closer to me, and Coach stepped in front of me. I was glad that Mason was leaning his head on my shoulder so he didn't see his mom in this horrible state.

"Didn't think you would be the type to shit talk a man while he is down, but you continue to surprise me, Jason," Ryan said, crossing his arms to glare at Jason, who laughed.

"That is exactly the type of man I am, I also brought Mason a present," Jason said, staring at me, and I kept Mason's ears covered, as I held his face, glad he couldn't hear what this man was saying.

"Don't say another word about him," I said to Jason and he smirked at me.

"I won't if you come with me and help me get her to the car, or else I am leaving her in a bathroom stall somewhere," Jason said to me and he wasn't bluffing. I felt myself slightly shaking, but I knew I had to go. I lifted Mason's head up and looked at him.

"Hey Mason, Ryan is going to keep you with Dad okay? I have to go for a moment," I said to Mason.

"No, don't leave, you promised not to leave," Mason said to me, as tears ran down his face.

"I will be right back, I will always come back," I said and Mason nodded his head as I handed him off to Ryan who told me not to go.

"Quinn don't," Ryan said slowly and I turned to him.

"Keep his head down," I warned Ryan, pointing at Mason before I turned to Megan and Jason who was smirking at me. I walked over and I wrapped my arm under Megan who groaned as I helped hold her up. I managed to get her down the hallway and we got out into the parking lot.

"I am going to puke," she said and Jason let her go and I held her hair out of her face as she vomited beer and tequila up all over the ground

"Our ride is here," He said to me, opening up a sports car, as I helped Megan back up. I got Megan in the front and I buckled her up and he handed me a puke bag for her and I put it in her hand. I also took off my hair tie and I tied up her hair so she wouldn't vomit on it.

I closed the door and Jason was standing really close to me. He smelled of tequila and cigarettes and he smirked at me.

"You throw a mean punch," He said and he smiled evilly.

"Don't touch me and I won't punch you," I said, and he laughed at me.

"I need to piss Titus off somehow," he said, brushing my hair out of my face, and I went to push his hand away and he grabbed my wrist roughly.

"I don't think you have to try hard," I said to him, trying not to show how scared I actually was, and he pushed me against the car and he squeezed my wrist. I looked up at him scared and he laughed again.

"Tell him I said good luck," Jason said before he let go of me, got into the car, and sped off.

I walked back towards the door happy that I could keep my composure. I walked back inside where they had Titus on a stretcher who was holding Mason while talking to Ryan with a serious face.

"Hey," I said, putting on a smile and they all looked at me in relief and Mason smiled at me.

"Dad is awake!!" Mason said to me and I smiled at him, as I walked over to them. Titus pulled me in for a kiss, and Mason groaned grossed out.

"Mason, can you go with Coach to get me some water," Titus said and Mason got down and Titus winced in pain.

"Are you okay?" I asked him, and Titus looked at me and he was pissed.

"Are you fucking insane, you left with Jason and Megan alone?" Titus said to me and I flushed in embarrassment.

"I didn't want Mason to see his mother like that," I said quietly, annoyed that he was mad at me.

"I don't care how Mason sees Megan, she does it to herself. I do care about me losing you, or you getting hurt trying to protect us," Titus said and I was irritated at him.

"I would do anything for Mason even if it means putting myself in a position I don't like," I said and Titus groaned.

"You are so stubborn," he said, rubbing his head and I glared at him.

"The only stubborn person is you. Also, you are the only one injured here, so how about you worry about yourself and less about me," I said crossing my arms and he let out a small smile.

"Okay, I am sorry," Titus said before kissing me. Mason returned with a water bottle and Coach talked to Titus.

"They are going to take you to the hospital now," Coach said and Titus nodded his head.

"You both go home, I will get a ride back to the apartment," Titus said to us, and Ryan handed me the keys and Coach promised to drive him back.

I got Mason into the car and I drove to Titus's apartment and it felt lonely without him here. I locked the door behind us. I brushed my teeth, and I got changed into my pajamas and as I was climbing into bed the door opened.

"Can I sleep in here tonight?" Mason asked, and I nodded my head and he climbed in and I pulled him into my arms. I woke up and I heard the front door opening. It was 4 am and I moved Mason from my arms.

I walked out and Titus was returning from the hospital and he seemed exhausted. He had stitches above his eye and he was holding his ribs.

"Are you okay?" I asked and he smiled up at me.

"I am now," he said and he pulled me in for a kiss.

"What did the hospital say?" I asked and he pulled me in for a hug.

"Bruised ribs, and small concussion," He said and I smiled up at him.

"I am so happy to see you," I said and he kissed me again.

"I think you promised me something if I won," He said smirking at me and he sat down on the couch and laid down, wincing slightly. I went into the room and I checked to make sure Mason was still asleep, and I grabbed a condom.

I kissed him and I went down and I pulled down his sweatpants until I saw his dick. I put it in my mouth and he moaned quietly. I sucked his dick, and I used my hands to play with his balls until he pushed me away gently.

"Fuck you are so unbelievably sexy," he said to me, as I kissed him. He grabbed the condom which was on the side table, and he pushed me so I was below him and he kissed my neck. He pulled down my sweatpants and I moaned as he pushed his still erect dick into me.

"It was worth getting beat up to get this," he said as he pounded into me hard. He covered my moans with his hand as he buried his face into my neck breathing hard. I felt him release and he pulled out and kissed me.

"Let's go to bed," he said to me, moving hair out of my face and I smiled at him.

"You shouldn't have done that with your hurt rib," I said to him and he smirked as we walked to the bedroom.

"You will always be worth the pain," he said. He changed into pajama pants and left the shirt off showing the bandage around his ribs. I moved Mason so he was in the middle of the bed and Titus slid in bed next to him, and I slid on the other side.

"Goodnight," Titus said and I smiled up at him.

"Goodnight," I said and we both fell asleep happily.
