《Kidnapping the Gang Leader》Afterwards - 8 years later

I thought the hardest thing I have ever done was leaving Damien to start college, even if I was coming back for summers and weekend visits. Then it became leaving him during those weekend visits, leaving both him and Charles and Joey.
Charles and Joey became my brothers, and after some coaxing from both me and Damien, we got them to start dating. I definitely didn't see Joey being bi, but he asked me about whether or not the feelings he started to have towards Charles was normal.
My senior year, I got a job offer from a museum to work at, since my major had been Art History. Problem was, it was all the way in London. While I wanted to take the job so bad, I didn't want to leave Damien behind. Somehow, Joey and Charles found out and told him, and Damien told me to take it.
That was four years ago, four years of not seeing each other except for face timing, not hearing this voice exactly for phone and video calls, all for a specific reason.
His name is Damien Jr.
I got transferred to the museum about thirty minutes from our small town, and I decided to surprise everyone. Damien Jr has heard all the stories from my past, about his Uncle Joey and Uncle Charles, and he loves stories about his daddy.
I looked in my rear view mirror at his dark curly mop of hair, his eyes as dark and as warm as his father. He looked so much like Damien it pained me everyday I saw him, except he had some of my traits as well.
He had a light scatter of freckles, and how curly his hair is. My favorite trait he got though is the fleck of bright blue in his left eye, almost exactly like mine. He was smart, so incredibly smart for his age, and was tall at 3 and 11 months. We only have a week till his fourth birthday, and I decided for his present to finally come home.
I pulled into the last exit, my eyes scanning around me to the town I never thought I'd come back too. I smiled as I passed the park, the one Damien gave me a ring at. I glanced down to it still on my finger, an opal stone surrounded by little diamond.
"Are you ready Damien?" He grinned at me, showing off his grin with one missing tooth.

"Are we seeing daddy today?" His voice was about high, but it still rumbled a bit with a small English accent he had picked up.
"Yes, we're seeing both Daddy, Joey, and Charles." He grinned again as I pulled up to the gate in front of the mansion I had grown to call home, my breath hitching as I scanned over the landscape.
"Whore you Miss?" I smiled at the guard Andy, who obviously didn't recognize me.
"It's me Andy, Fern." His mouth dropped, his eyes wide before it stretched out into a huge grin.
"Does Master Damien know you're here?" I shook my head, keeping my eyes in the silent toddler behind me.
"Nope, I wanted to surprise him." His eyes glanced back before flicker up to me, when they widened and shot back behind me.
"Is that –"
"His, yes. Like I said, big surprise." He nodded as he pushed the button to open the gate, my rental car driving smoothly up the driveway.
I smiled to myself as I watched Joey and Charles leave the house with stone cold faces, eyeing the suspicious car until I rolled it to a stop. I turned to face Damien, his eyes wide as he stared out the tinted windows.
"Stay quiet for a bit baby, okay? You want to surprise Uncle Joey and Uncle Charles, right?" He nodded enthusiastically, his smile pushing one onto my face as I opened the door.
Their faces turned into one of complete shock when my head popped out, Joey launching himself onto me as soon as the door shut behind me. "Fern!"
I laughed as Charles jumped not long after him, my hands clinging onto them as I tried to not cry. I was saving that, saving my tears for a very special Italian.
"Is he here?" I whispered, my glassy eyes looking over their own tear streaked faces. I watched as they fell, feeling my heart plummet slightly.
"He's on a trip about two hours away, let me call him and tell him you're here." I shook my head, walking back a step to the back door.
"Tell him it's an emergency, because I have a even bigger surprise." Both of them furrowed their eyebrows as Joey pulled out his phone, sending him a message before nodding to me.
I took a deep breath as I opened the backdoor and reached in, unlocking the seatbelt to his car seat.

"You ready?" I whispered, smiling as he nodded and his eyes were wide, trying to catch a glimpse behind me.
I pulled him out and rested him on my hip, watching as both Joey and Charles equally paled. I pressed a kiss to his temple, pushing a bit of his curls out of his face. "Say hi to Uncle Joey and Uncle Charles Damien."
Charles and Joey both visibly sighed in relief, tears starting up all over again as Damien waved to both of them. "Hi!"
"Is he?"
"Yes, this is Damien's son. His name is Damien Jr, and he's three years and eleven months, his birthdays next week." He grinned as he wiggles around, my body bending as I set him on the ground and crouched next to him.
He squealed and ran straight to Charles, his arms wrapping up to scoop him into his torso. "Whore you?"
He chuckled, placing a kiss on the top of his curly mop. "I'm Uncle Charles."
"I'm Uncle Joey." Damien nodded wiping at his eyes slightly before yawning. "Let's go inside, Damien said he'll be back soon."
I took him from Charles, his legs wrapping around me as much as possible. His head rested in the crook of my neck as I walked through the front door, smiling and waving at the confused and happy faces of the regular members I had met before I had left.
I walked up the stairs and brought Damien into his fathers bathroom, gently washing his face and hands wit a warm towel. It took up most of my time, ending with him still asleep and me setting him under his fathers big comforter.
I heard a door shut downstairs and I felt my heart racing, my fingers pulling at themselves while I walked down the stairs. Would he still want me? Would he want Damien? I was so terrified, and I swore everyone could hear my heart beat as I hit the final step.
I walked into the kitchen silently, watching Damien stare at Charles and Joey. His back was to me, so I couldn't see exactly how these three years had been for him, but it obviously must've been good. His back looked broader, his muscles more taunt and defined.
I took a deep breath, his smell hitting me like a ton of bricks. "Hi Damien."
He spun around, his eyes staring at me like he couldn't believe it was me. He stilled about ten feet from me, his eyes boring into mine like that had done for so many years.
"Fern?" I smiled and nodded, his feet pushing himself. He pulled me into his arms, spinning me around with a squeal leaving my lips. His face looked almost exactly the same, his hair cut a bit shorter than before.
"I uh, I actually have another surprise for you. I just hope you won't be mad at me." He set me down, his eyebrows furrowed.
I looked over his shoulder to Charles and Joey, both of them nodding their head to me. I took a deep breath, grabbing his hand and tugging him up the stairs gently. I stopped right outside his bedroom door, turning to face him one last time.
I opened the door, the soft sounds of Damien Jr's snores filling the air. Damien furrowed his eyebrows as he heard them, looking at me before walking around and stepping to his bed. I watched him falter, his body turning rigid as he looked down at the little body asleep under his covers.
"You cheated on me?" I chuckled, walking around him to pull up Damien Jr to me.
I shook him gently, rousing him from his sleep. He looked at me with his confused face, his eyes looking over me before pulling up to his father, who still stood there watching us with an impassive look.
"Damien, meet your daddy." Damien's face turned to sheer joy as Damien Jr jumped over to him, his arms clasping around him tightly.
"He, he's mine?" I nodded and smiled, watching as tears began to form on his eyes.
He reached down and pulled him to his chest, nuzzling into him as deeply as possible. He lifted his head and looked over to me, his eyes rimmed red before stepping forward and pressing his lips to mine. Those same sparks spilled down my spine, erupting into my veins and through each of my bones.
This was my love, my family, my happy ending.
