"I'm going to throw up." Lando gags, watching his friends dig into the gorgeous seafood noodles that sit in the middle of the table.
Queenie rolls his eyes, Lando's horrid sounds of dry heaving from the seat beside her distracts her from her phone where the most recent Instagram message from William remains on seen.
"You're so picky, it's ridiculous." She tuts.
"Can we ask the chef to make some chicken nuggets or something?" Lando whines, ignoring Queenie's dig.
"Are you twelve?"
Lando nods once. "On a scale of one to ten."
"Congrats, you've just matched a year eight's humour level." Queenie retorts though she still laughs at Lando's comment.
"Fine, I'll starve." Lando huffs jokingly, folding his arms and looking away from the girl as she giggles to herself.
"Just eat the noodles."
"I'd rather die."
"Die then."
"Queenie!" Lando gasps, hold a hand to his heart. Queenie only slurps on her noodles in reply, sending a wink in the twenty-one-year-old's direction.
"You could always just eat the veg." Oli reasons. He's known from the moment the chef started cooking that Lando would cry about the seafood but he hadn't stepped in figuring that his grown adult of a brother would suck it up without any complaints. Fool him for trying.
"You could always just eat the veg," Lando mimics in a higher octave. "I'm on holiday... I shouldn't have to eat vegetables on holiday."
"Then eat the seafood noodles, bro."
Lando grumbles in response, knowing he's lost the battle. He spends the rest of dinner nibbling on some vegetables, feeling sorry for himself, while Queenie coo's at him every so often.

Hours later, when everyone's a little bit tipsy and a lotta bit full from their evening meal, Queenie grabs Cara and Lola's hands and pulls them away from the group towards the back of the boat where more daybeds are situated.
She launches herself onto the beds and taps the cushions beside her so that her best friends know to sit down.
"Will messaged me earlier." Queenie blurts, wincing at the immediate sounds of groans from her best friends.
"Please tell me you didn't respond." Lola pleads but the tone in her voice doesn't hide that she already knows the answer.
Queenie suddenly looks very sheepish. "Well, I—"
"For God's sake, Queenie," Cara sighs. "Why?"
"You know that it's hard for me," The brunette defends. "He's not just an ex-boyfriend I'm supposed to avoid, he was my best friend for years before we were together."
"Doesn't change the fact that he's a dickhead." Cara grunts and Lola points at the blonde as if to agree with her statement.
"He's always been a dickhead, that's his charm," Queenie counters. "He's just earned a few more points recently."
Cara snorts. "A few?"
"Listen, Will was our best friend too, we get why you're still attached to him," Lola reasons. "But I don't trust that letting him back in your life won't ruin it."
"I'm hardly letting him back in my life."
"Replying to his messages is just the start."
Queenie sighs. "I didn't tell you about him messaging me to get a lecture."
"Then, why tell us?" Lola asks. While the question from the outside and the tone she uses sounds spiteful and inconsiderate, the actual meaning is anything but. It's common sense to Queenie by now that mentioning William would incur this kind of reaction—he'd broken her heart quite badly just before Christmas last year and her best friends had been against anything William Lahey related ever since.

"I don't know," Queenie shrugs, her voice barely above a whisper. "I miss him."
"Queenie..."
"No, not like that," She shakes her head. "I miss him the same way I'd miss you two."
The girls are silent for a while after that. It's difficult for Lola and Cara to say that they don't miss William, they'd grown up with him the same way Queenie had. The only difference is that the two girls aren't blinded by a four-year relationship when making their decision on whether it's a good idea to let him back into their lives.
"If you want to be friends with him again, we can't stop you," Cara finally says. "Just be careful."
"And tell Lando," Lola adds. "You know Will will use it to his advantage if your boyfriend doesn't know about your past with him before you become friends."
Queenie rolls her eyes, a slight smile on her face. "Lando's not my boyfriend."
"Yet." Cara grins.
Queenie giggles, matching Cara's grin as she nods. "Yet."
