Lucas thanks Loni. I open the note and read what he's written inside.

Bailey,

You deserve a fancy wedding with our friends and family there. We keep talking about doing this one day, but I can't wait to marry you again so I'm making that one day today. I don't know when the next deployment is or what might happen tomorrow, but I know I'm going to love you for the rest of my life.

Happy anniversary beautiful. Let's get married again.

Love,

Lucas

"What?" I ask out loud.

"I'm getting you ready for your wedding!" Loni practically screams. "He's been planning this for a while. I can't believe he pulled it off. I've been trying to get Shaun to be interested in our wedding for months, and your husband planned the whole thing himself!"

"What do you mean?" I ask. My hands are shaking.

Loni sets down the curling iron and clicks open her make-up kit. "He bought you a dress and shoes, he rented the hall, and he planned the ceremony."

"I can't believe this!" I say.

"Believe it. I saw that dress with my own eyes."

I slip on the dress, careful not to mess up my hair or make-up. Loni helps me zip it up. It's even more gorgeous in person. I run my hands down the small crystals and fitted bodice.

"It looks beautiful on you," Loni tells me as the photographer takes our picture. She helps me slip on my heels. "You're such a pretty bride."

When my dress is on and Loni has changed into a dark navy dress, we step outside. A limo is waiting and I close my eyes tight and then open them again to make sure this is real and I'm not dreaming it. The three of us climb inside and head to my wedding...the one I didn't even know I was having. I can't believe I was disappointed when Lucas told me he might have to work late on our anniversary. How many clues had I missed? How long had he been planning this?

The limo pulls up to the venue. It's a hall that has an outside area and I can already see the strings of white lights as they drape across the patio. A few of my friends from home are waiting outside, all wearing matching dresses just like Loni's.

"Oh my god!" I gasp. "I can't believe he did this."

I try not to cry as I hug each of my friends. I haven't been home in a while and it's so good to see them in person. I've missed them. They usher me through the hall and into position near the back doors that open out to the patio. I can't see anything, but my heart is beating so quickly in anticipation of what might be on the other side. A woman hands each of us a bouquet of flowers and I still can't believe this is happening.

"Are you ready?" Loni asks. I don't think anything will ever top the way I feel right now.

"Yes," I whisper.

"Then let's do this." Loni motions for the doors and the woman swings them open.
