Bailey

I moved my stuff back into the dorm. Jessica was my roommate again and I was grateful we would be together for another year. She was quiet and very kind. We both liked to keep things clean and she always cooked dinner, which was a big plus with my night classes keeping at school until late.

"So he was just there? Like waiting the whole time for you?" Jessica sighed and then sat down on her bed across the room from mine. "That's so romantic. Nothing like that ever happens to me." She scrunched up her nose and I couldn't help but laugh. I tossed my pillow at her.

"Yep. He waited all day for me. I'm still pissed I didn't have an earlier flight."

"What would you have done? Run off to a hotel or something?" she asked, shrugging her shoulders as if that wouldn't have worked out.

"Maybe," I answered. She wasn't expecting that. Her eyes met mine, and her mouth dropped open.

"Bailey Athena Prescott!" My pillow came hurling back to me, just missing my head.

"What?" I shrieked.

"You don't even really know him."

"I know everything about him. We just don't see each other in person. We've been writing letters for over a year now. I bet we do more 'talking' in our letters than most people do in their relationships." It was true. I shared everything with him. I think that's why it was so easy for us when we were together. The only thing missing for that long stretch of time was physical contact. But all the groundwork had been laid and we just had to catch up.

"What was it like? Did it seem weird to be kissing him? Was it as good as you remembered it?" She moved to her stomach and propped her head up on her hands.

I fell back into my bed. "It was amazing. It was better than I remembered. There was nothing weird about it. I just hate that I'm not going to get to see him again for a while and there feels like there is so much unfinished business between us."

"Is that what the kids are calling it these days?" she teased and we both laughed.

"Seriously. I can't think about anything else. I just want to be with him. I want to spend time with him and hear his voice. I want to hold his hand and go places with him. There are so any things I want to show him. So many people I want him to meet. My family knows all about him, but they haven't met him yet."

She rolled over onto her back to copy my position. "When is it going to happen then?"

"As soon as he gives me the green light, I'm where ever he tells me to be—the second he tells me to be there." I grabbed a pillow and held it to my stomach. "I just wish it was easier for him to get away."

"If he really loves you, Bailey, he will make it happen."
