《Bear》5

Bear relunctanly tore his eyes away from the alpha, and towards his brother whose eyes were trained on the floor with a blush coating his cheeks.

"Bear please accompany them on a walk around the property."

Bear nodded with a smile as he led the way for the alpha and his younger brother.

Bear sat a few feet away from the couple-who had opted to sit in tht garden after their walk- to give them their privacy but he could still hear them.

"I'm Titus."

"I'm Tanner."

Bear resisted the urge to laugh at his brother's shy behaviour and the fact that the two males had walked around the property in utter silence. They hadn't even learned each other's names until now.

The alpha simply smiled at Tanner before asking the omega about his favourite hobbies, and soon enough the pair had hit it off.

"It must be draining watching those two love birds fall in love."

Bear sighed as he took the glass of juice from Jessie.

"Why must the older brother always chaperone?"

"Good question." His sister replied with a shrug of her shoulders.

"He looks happy."

Bear agreed with his sister. His brother was smiling and laughing, and the alpha looked at him with so much warmth in his eyes that Bear was certain the man had already begun to fall in love with Tanner.

And Bear couldn't blame the guy, Tanner was perfect and any alpha would be proud to have him by their side.

His brother was going to be happy with Titus.

But still Bear couldn't shake off the growing feeling of jealousy. The moment his eyes had me the alpha's Bear had felt something being seeded into his heart.

He felt some sort of attraction to the alpha and it made the omega sick. Titus would never look at him in that way.

Titus belonged with an omega that was beautiful. That was small. That was curvy.

Titus belonged with an omega like Tanner.

Not a bear sized man like Bear.

"Excuse me for a second."

Titus nodded as the omega stood up and entered the house.

Titus followed his every move with a smile until he was out of sight. Then he found himself looking at the omega who had stolen his breath away the moment he saw him.

Titus decided to take a chance and speak to him. What harm could it do?

"Hi."

Bear chocked on his juice and felt heat in his cheeks as the alpha rubbed his back until he could breathe normally.

"I'm sorry alpha it's just that you caught me off guard."

Bear cursed silently. He had referred to the man as alpha.

The only one who could refer to a dominant in that way was his mate. And no one else.

Bear felt embarrassed at his actions.

"It's okay."

Titus left his hand resting on the omegas lower back as he beamed at how the omega had addressed him.

"I'm Titus and you are?"

"Dańte but every one calls me Bear. Because of how I'm built...like a bear"the omega said with a small laugh at the end.

The man was a self-conscious about his built but he absolutely loved his nickname, it's what his carrier had called him from the moment that he was born. He was his father's little teddy bear, well not so little now but the name made his heart swell with warmth. He had his father with him in his heart and carried his memory wherever he went, and it was all because of his name, Bear.

Bear took a step away from the alpha. He needed to create a safe distance away from the man or else he would regret his actions.

Titus noticed the move and let it slide. He must have made the omega uncomfortable and he felt like an idiot.

"I am sorry Bear, I should not have touched you without permission."

Bear frowned, the alpha thought he hated his touch. On the contrary Bear loved the feeling of his large hands resting on his lower back. It provided him with a sense of warmth and security. Feelings he had only ever felt from one alpha in his life, his father.

The only reason he had moved away was to stop his phermones from slipping out and informing his brother's prospective husband of his emotions.

He didn't need the alpha to know that he wanted him. In more than just a brother-in-law kind of way.

"It is not your touch that made me move away Alp-Titus. It just looks wrong for you to be so close to me without a proper relation."

Bear was speaking the truth,or at least half of it.

Alphas were to not touch omegas that they had no relation to. It was the law that had been passed down by the President who was an omega.

She had made sure that omegas finally had rights after the old sexist president had been taken off his seat for rape charges.

The man was a disgusting vile creature who had believed that omegas were only bed warmers and nothing else. During his term omegas had suffered and Bear had been forced to come back home and do online classes for a semester when there had been a rape of an omega at his dorm.

His dad had forced him back and Bear had for once in his life complied without any fight whatsoever.

But the new president made sure that all dominants knew who was in charge. The omegas had power and they had a say in who could be in their lives and who could put their hands on them.

Titus mentally face palmed and felt his cheeks heat up at his stupidity.

What was it about Bear that made him act stupid? He knew the law and he had been well educated on omega and dominant relations, but yet he had forgotten tht most crucial and important rule of all.

Omegas shall not be touched by any dominant who does not had a relation to them, and those who have any sort of relations to the omega shall need permission to touch the omega first. Touching of any form without permission will be seen as assault or attempted rape and will most probably lead to a prison sentence should the dominant be found guilty.

It was basic knowledge, and Titus had screwed it up.

"Bear I-"

"I brought you some snacks Titus."

Titus trailed off as he turned to face Tanner who was carrying a tray of snacks.

"Oh well I was just-"

"Forgive me Titus but there's something I need to do inside. I'll be back."

And Bear did not wait for even a second before he dashed out of the backyard and into the kitchen.

Once in the safety of his Papa's favorite place in the whole house, Bear took a deep breathe before gulping down a glass of water.

His eyes looked through the window and he smiled as he watched Tanner interact with Titus. But that smile wiped off his face as Titus looked at him with a look that had the omega clutching the counter and looking away with flushed cheeks.

Bear had done the unthinkable.

He had planted a seed of love in his heart.

A seed of love for his brother's alpha.
