It had been 15 days since my mom passed away and today was my engagement day with yoongi-shi.

After my mids ended last week , my brother asked me to go out with yoongi- shi for a dinner , we did go out but the entire dinner went by full of awkwardness , he could tell that i had no interest in him and i could tell he has no interest in me.

I did ask him once as to why was he agreeing to all this , to which he replied that "i cant see my friend in distress , when he needs me in such a difficult time , i cant just back out." This is what he replied me with.

After the mid term exams , our university resumed classes but i didn't go , Taehyung called me 2-3 times to check up on me but he didnt visit me , guess he was giving me some space .

I didnt see jungkook all these days , neither did he try to contact me.

The police is still investigating my mother's murder case for now .

"Y/n." Came in my brother Hobi

"Are you ready?" He asked to which i nodded

"Look at you , you look so pretty." He complimented me .

My outfit was a mauve coloured cocktail v-neck sleeveless dress that stopped just beneath my knee ,its top was gorgeously embroidered and had a zipper on my back , it was simple yet elegant and fitted me perfectly , i paired it with my mauve coloured heels and complimented my dress with silver jewellery.

The ceremony was to happen at Yoongi-shi 's house and so i got ready in one of the rooms over there..

"Lets go." My brother said as he started to take me downstairs.

"Wait."

"What now?"

"I have to inform taehyung otherwise he ll be upset."

"Didnt you tell him yet?"

"No!"

"Oh God , tell him and invite him too , after all he has supported you so much." Oppa said

I picked up my phone and just texted him..

Me : Taehyung, i am getting engaged today.

- sent

Thats all i sent him , i know i should have informed him earlier but somewhere in my heart till this day I thought that maybe Oppa would change his mind but seems like that wasnt happening..

"Are you done? Lets go now!" He said

I kept my phone on my side table and made my way downstairs with him.

We made our way to the lounge as i saw Yoongi-shi all dressed in a blue dress shirt and light coloured dress pants , sitting on one of the sofa.

As soon as he saw us , he stood up , Oppa made me stand across him as he gave me a faint smile, i wonder how jungkook would react to all this.

There was just 3 of us , no one else..

"Why did your brother decide to get engaged a of a sudden?" "Asked jimin who was sitting on the passenger seat , holding the flower bouquets that both of us bought for my hyung..

"Dont know , he just informed me today , i asked him about the girl but he cancelled my call."

"Since when did your brother become like this?" Jimin laughed.

"You wont believe it , the other day i teased him with his girlfriend and he straight out declined of having one." I chuckled

"Anyways, here we are , lets go." I and jimin got out of the car and made our way inside hyung's house.

I saw a car park by y/n 's house , it was Kim taehyung's car ..

I clenched my hand at his sight , i wont let you have her that easily..

"Hey jungkook? What are you doing staring over there? Lets go inside!" Jimin said as he pulled me inside hyung's house.

We rang the bell as a familiar person opened the door.

"Jungkook?!" It was Y/n's brother

What is he doing over here?

"What are you doing here?" He asked with anger in his eyes.

He clearly hates me to core after that day.

I sighed at the realisation.

"Jungkook ?" It was hyung who followed him

"You know him?" Her brother asked hyung

"Yea , he is my younger brother!"

"Wait what?Jungkook's your younger brother?"

"Ahm" hyung spoke as i and jimin made our way inside.

"Didn't y/n ever tell you?" I heard hyung say to Y/n's brother.

Her brother didn't reply..

"Y/n?" I called out to her

She looked at me and gave me a slight smile that faded in an instant.

She looked so beautiful in that mauve coloured dress , her hair were nicely styled in curls with few strands of her hair dangling in front of her face , her silver jewellery glowed along with her skin under the impact of golden lights but i didnt fail to notice the sadness in her eyes.

"What? What are you doing her?" I asked her to which she didn't reply.

Y/n : Taehyung I am getting engaged today .

"What?" For a while the message couldn't process in my brain.

Is she serious? That cant be happening right?

I quickly dialled her number and called her but she didn't pick up.

Don't tell me this is happening for real? maybe i Should go and check it out? I took my car keys and drove to her house .

My heart was beating like crazy and my mind was still not able to accept this..

Heart: what if she is joking?

Me: but y/n never pull such pranks , specially nowadays , she is pretty sad

Brain: don't worry , we ll know once we reach her house.

I parked my car beside her house and got out , the entire lights of her house seemed to be off .

I went upto the door and rang the bell but no one answered.

I rang a couple of times more but there was still no answer so I decided to ask her neighbour..

There was already a car parked outside, i went towards their door and rang the bell.

"Oh taehyung you are here? Come in , y/n was waiting for you." Her brother Hoseok said as i entered.

I stood their confused! Why were they in their neighbour's house?

Could it be that?

As if what I thought couldn't get any more real , i saw y/n all dressed up standing in the lounge.

I saw jungkook and Park jimin over there too..

"Y/n dont tell me you—."

What?what are you doing here?" Asked jungkook

"Y/n dont tell me you—." Before taehyung could continue his sentence Yoongi -shi spoke

"Thats the girl!"

"Huh?"

"I am getting engaged to her today!"

"What?"

"What?" I heard jungkook and taehyung say in unison.

I didn't face them , i just kept on looking at the ground.

"I am getting engaged to her today!" As soon as those words left hyung's mouth , i became stunned.

The flower bouquet that i held in my hands fell as my mind refused to believe what he had said..

"You know hyung its not funny."

"I am serious."

"No , i don't believe this , hey!" I went towards y/n who stood their quietly , i held her arms as i made her look towards me .

"Hey look at me ! This cant be true right?" I asked but she didn't answer, her face had a serious and sad expression.

"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING?" Came her brother as he pulled me apart from her.

"Let me talk to her atleast! Hey y/n answer me , what is all this? Why didn't you tell me ?" I asked her with frustration but she still didn't answer.

"Yoongi , if your brother is here to ruin my sister's engagement then I will have no choice but to make him leave by force."

"Jungkook?! Stop it!" Hyung said in a calm yet stern tone.

"Hyung , you know i -." Before i could say anything further, hyung glared at me to behave making me go shut.

"Hey jungkook, stop for now." Jimin spoke in my ear as i gritted my teeth.

"I am leaving." I couldn't see it anymore, i couldn't hear it anymore , my heart was sinking every second at the thought of my brother and the girl i like together and so i left closing the door shut with a loud bang.

I walked towards my car thinking trying let in all whatever happened just now . My mind felt numb and my heart ... my heart felt empty!

For a while i couldn't believe what i had just listened to..

The scene just now left me disconsolate ..

How did this happen? Why did y/n agree to get engaged to my brother? Why did hyung agree? Couldnt he tell that i liked her soo much.

Brain : how is this his fault? You never made your feelings clear , its your fault alone

Heart: yes , if you had not been rude to her brother the other day , who knows it would have been you instead of your brother.

I leaned at the wall as all the regrets start to pour in my mind..

What do i do now?

It was all my fault? This was the karma that i was experiencing right now?

I sat down on the pavement as all the Thoughts and images poured in my mind , from our time in school to the time she left and then whatever i did with her in university.

"Aghh." I let out an anguished cry as I held my face in my palms ..

"You are worse jungkook." A single tear trickled down my cheek as i recalled how i had treated her uptil now.

Not long ago i heard few claps from inside that made my heart further heavy , my mind was feeling cloudy now .

Not being able to take all this anymore i got up from the pavement, sat in my car and drove away.
