《My Quirky Love》Chapter 8: Intelligence

I am bored. I am playing tic tac toe using rocks by myself.
Pitiful.
My playmates are not here.
I think they have a class.
How I wish I could go back to school but whenever I remember all the things my teachers and parents said it discourage me.
I mean they are right. I am just wasting their money beacause I am dumb. I can't blame my parents when they kick me out.
Who wants a useless and dumb child.
Anyway, it's in the past. I hope they are all happy and well.
I was surprise when my surroundings darken. Is it going to rain?
I look up and smiled.
Mr. Hoodie is here.
I was surprise when he hold out his hand. Without thinking which I rarely do, I accept his offered hand excitedly.
I dust off my yellow dress after I stand up. I can't afford to dirty this dress because I'll wear it again tomorrow.
"You're early again!" I started.
Mr. Hoodie shrugged his shoulders.
His hands brought warmth through my whole body. How's that possible?
He gently guide me towards his usual place. Once we reach his "bench" I reluctantly let go of his hand. I stop myself from demanding him to hold my hand again.
Mr. Hoodie open his bag and brings out big contaniners. It's more bigger than yesterday!
He layed out all the food and it barely fits on the bench. I can see that there's still container left inside that bag. I hear him sigh in irritation. Mr. Hoddie glance to his right.
I look on where he's staring but I can't see anything unusual.
"Are you okay?" I ask.
Mr. Hoodie look at me and nodded.
I was surprise when a bulky man wearing a black suit and black sunglasses stops in front of us holding a foldable table.
Mr. Hoodie nodded to the man.
"Is that for rent Mister?" I ask.
The man just stare at me.
Does he not speak? I hear Mr. Hoodie clear his throat. I look at him worriedly.
I grab the bottled water inside my bag. I open the bottled water and gave it to Mr. Hoodie.
"Here. You might get sick." Mr. Hoodie accept the water I offered and drink it. Once I am assured that he finished it all I look back on the man beside me but he was gone. The white table already assembled with white cloth laid out on top of it. There's also carefully arranged cutleries and plate.
I roam my eyes around to find the man but I can't see him. Where did he go?
"He's real right? He's not a figment of my imagination?" I ask Mr. Hoodie.
Mr. Hoodie shook his head.
He carefully transfer our food on the table.
I was amazed at the amount of food in front of me.
"Oh my gosh. I've never seen this much food in one table." I said amazed.
Mr. Hoodie pointed at every dish and I nodded to everything. I don't want loose this chance to taste all of this food.
Am I a glutton?
Everything is so delicious. The whole time I am eating I let out an appreciative nod at Mr. Hoodie.
"Did you cook this?" I ask him.

He shook his head.
"Please tell whoever cook this that he's so talented and I am so lucky I taste his dishes."
Mr. Hoodie nodded.
As we are eating I told him what happened last night.
"So this momma is old like old old and she's a regular at the shelter. I always help her washing her hair if her art-something whatever that's called act up. You know what she wants to give me money but I refuse because she needs it more. She's nice."
The whole time Mr. Hoodie just nodded. I'm used to it. It's better than nothing.
I ate only one serving. With my thin body that's used to eat small portion of food, I was surprise I finish all the food that Mr. Hoodie place on my plate.
I rub my belly in satisfaction.
"I feel like I can't eat dinner anymore." I murmured.
I was shock when Mr. Hoodie rub my head affectionately.
I grin at him.
I love this feeling.
Mr. Hoodie packed all the containers inside his lunch bag. I swear that bag is like the pouch of Doraemon. A japanese cartoon I watched when I was young.
"How about the table?" I ask.
Mr. Hoodie just shook his head.
"Do you want to walk around?" I ask. Mr. Hoodie nodded.
He left his bag on the bench without any care if it will get stolen.
We walked around the park. I can see several people bonding with their family and friends.
We reach the area where there's a man made lake. We sat down near it and stare at the water.
I was starting to tell something to Mr. Hoodie when a gust wind pass in our direction.
My hair suddenly covered my face.
Great.
When I swipe my hair out of my face I look at Mr. Hoodie beside me and gapes.
His hoodie was removed.
His face was expose.
He's so "Beautiful" I blurted out.
I immediately cover my mouth.
Mr. Hoodie arch his brow first then furrow his brows in confusion. He's still did not notice that his hood was off his face.
All this time I am talking to God's ultimate masterpiece?!
He still can't figure out why am I staring at him like an idiot so I shakily pointed at his hoodie.
He touch his head and realized what I am saying.
I can't take my eyes off his face. His bluish-grey eyes partnered with that breathtaking face is so lethal. Black glossy thick hair, aristocratic nose, prominent jaw and cheek bones. Pink pouty lips.
Lethal. Too dangerous for the female population. His looks alone will kill us.
God we need a serious discussion tonight. Where's the justice?
I was disturb from my daydreaming when he wave his hand in front of my face to get my attention from his face.
I blink and shake my head.
So embarrassing.
"Sorry. I am not used to be graced by gorgeous creatures."
He roll his eyes.
He doesn't believe me?
"You don't believe me?" I ask incredolously.
He shrug his shoulder.
"Look." I pointed to all the people surrounding us.
"It's mean to stare but they can't help it because your gorgeous!"
He just shook his head but I saw his eyes lighten. He's amused.

I already mention it before but Its a mystery how expressive his eyes were.
He doesn't need to talk his eyes alone can convey every emotion if you look closer.
I pout when he starts to lift his hoodie to cover his face again.
He stops midway when he saw my expression.
He sigh and shakes his head.
I smiled brightly when he let his hoodie down.
He raise his eyebrow silently saying happy?
"Very." I replied happily.
We stood up and walk back to our bench.
Our? Since when Sunshine?
As we are walking, more and more people are openly staring at the gorgeous specimen beside me and for the first time I am feeling irritated which is so unlike me.
I stop walking which makes him stop and look at me.
I signal for him to bend down which surprisingly he followed without any complain.
I lift his hood up to cover his face again. The whole time I am doing it I saw him smirking.
"Don't smirk mister. I am just protecting your virtue."
Virtue? Really Sunshine?
Mr. Hoodie stands up straight.
He hold my hands as we continue to walk back.
I swing our hands back and forth. I even have the urge to skip so I did.
We sat down on the bench. Skipping all the way back made me tired.
"Hey before I forgot what's your name?" I ask.
Instead of talking he bring out a piece of card just like Sir Bradford gave to me but this card is black not gold.
I stare at it then I narrow my eyes at him.
"You know that it's hard for me to read right?"
Once again he shrug his shoulders.
I have no choice. I need to read it if I want to know his name.
Gryseon Bkale Rsoen-Hwoer
Don't give up Sunshine you can do this. It's just a name.
"Grison?" I look at him if I am right. He shakes his head.
" I am wrong. Wait. I can do this."
I squint my eyes and carefully mention each letter.
"Gr..e..ysss...on?" I look up at him.
"Greyson?!" I ask hopefully.
He nodded. "Yey! I did it!"
To my delight and to the surprise of Mr. No it's Greyson I hug him. Then I stand up and dance my victory dance.
"I did it! I read it! Thank God! Can you believe it? It took me more than 10 minutes but I did it!"
Greyson nodded and smile. Once I sat down from exhaustion Greyson rub my head which made me giggle.
"You like doing that." I observed. "It's cute. I like it."
I did not notice that it's way past 5pm. This is bad. I grabbed my eco bag and stand up.
"Hey I need to go now. It's an hour walk, so I need to get going." I told Greyson regretfully.
He furrow his eyebrow and nodded but I can see he wants to say something.
"Bye! I hope to see you tomorrow! Oh wait it's weekend tomorrow so I understand you'll be with your family. Well see you when you're not busy!" I waved at him in goodbye and walk back to the shelter happily.
Yey! I know his name!
Another goal met! I cheered internally.
Wait a minute. I just remember. Where did the table go?
💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓
The whole way back to the house I am rewinding what happened at the park.
She's so fucking cute.
She knows my name. I internally smile.
She calls me beautiful and gorgeous but she's those things and more.
I was startled when I heard my name called.
"Master Greyson we're here."
We are? I internally ask. I look out of the window and saw Albert waiting on the front door patiently.
Whoops. We are.
I've been staring at a damn air for 30 minutes? How unlike me.
I open the car and walk inside the house. I hand Albert my lunch bag.
My smirking dad welcomed me.
I roll my eyes at him.
"You got it bad son."
I wistfully nodded.
He's right. I do.
"Did you talk to her?" He ask while following me to my room.
"No." I grumbled.
We reach my room and I scan my fingerprint to open my door and my dear father followed inside.
Daddy comfortably sit on like he own it. I mean technically it's his.
"So tell me what happened."
I walk inside my closet and change my clothes to my sleepwear. I folded my hoodie and placed it on one of my empty drawers.
She hugged that hoodie.
I walk out and saw daddy patiently waiting for me like an old woman thirsty for a hot gossip.
I sat on my bed and made myself comfortable.
"Well?"
"We ate lunch but the bench is small so the MIB brought a table." I started.
"She did not suspect anything?" Daddy ask.
"No she's somewhat like mommy. She's oblivious. Anyways after we eat, we decided to walk a little bit and we sit in front of the lake."
"An annoying wind blew out my hoodie and my face got expose." I mutter annoyed.
"Hey! Be thankful you got my looks!'' Daddy protested.
I roll my eyes. I bet he'll like what I will say next.
"Well she said I am beautiful and gorgeous."
"I love her already!" Daddy exclaimed.
"Of course you would." I deadpan.
"She ask for my name and so I gave her my card. It took her 10 minutes dad to read my first name."
My heart hurt but at the same time proud when she read my name right.
"She can't read or write or what?" Dad ask.
"She's dyslexic. I figure it out early on." Dad nodded in understanding.
"Well from your story I can say she's precious Grey so don't fuck it up. I know your mom will love her too." Dad stood up, he scan his fingerprint and was going out when he stop midway through my door.
"Son word of advice. Start talking to her. Your good looks can't woos a woman alone. I know are gorgeous you can even ask Gabriel since he's the narcissistic one in the family but it's not enough. Show her you're intelligent and a catch. Use that Rosen-Hower brains to good use." He winked and goes out of my room.
My intelligence?
Should I teach Sunshine the theory of relativity or quantum physics next time we saw each other?
