《The Mafia's Weakness》Birthday party

We were all sitting in the living room where Axle made us a fire. A few more of Coltons men had came to look around the place.
"There was two of them?" Red asked as she handed me a bowl of water and a rag.
"The one is dead." Axle said pointing over to the kitchen but I didn't dare look.
"Neck is snapped."
How did Colton over power him? I had seen this man about to take his life and somehow Colton won.
"The other one got away." Colton hissed as he sat down in front of me on the couch.
He had glass and blood all over his back from jumping out the window. Stupid him he didn't have a shirt on to protect him.
"I sent some guys out to do a search with in 40 miles from here in each direction. You shot him so he can't get far."
"So he's still out there?" I opened my mouth and wished I didn't.
"Do you guys think I could talk to my wife alone."
"Yes sir" they both said getting up. I pleaded with Red not to leave me but she gave me a sorry smile as she walked out.
I put the cloth in the water and held it up to Coltons back making him jump a little from pain.
"I thought I told you to stay where you were." He hissed through the pain.
"I thought I could get out through the back door."
"You could have gotten hurt!"
"I'm not the one with glass in my chest and back am I?"
That silenced him as I continued to clean up the blood all over. As I got to his front I stood in front of him cleaning him off as I went.
He pulled me so that I was between his legs which helped me see the glass better.
I grabbed some tweezers and grabbed a pice of glass that was really stuck to him pulling on it.
"THAT HURTS!"
"Well if you would hold still it wouldn't hurt as much!" I screamed back at him as he looked up at me holding onto my wrists to stop me from doing my work.
"You really are something you know that! I mean you don't listen to a thing I say and then you cry when I get mad"

I realized that I was crying now. How couldn't I? I almost got killed again and he is treating me like a kid.
"I tried to protect you and you disobey me!"
"I'm not something you can control Colton." I hissed throwing everything to the side.
"If you want this then you need to start giving me some respect back!"
He stood up slowly which was a lot more scary when your standing in front of the devil himself.
His dark eyes pierced into mine as he towered over me completely.
"I-I'm not just a toy." I stuttered as I stepped back a little and he followed.
"I don't like to be played with." I said softly but even I didn't believe my crap.
"Is that so?" He asked raising his eyebrow at me.
"Because I think a small part of you loves when I take control." My back hit the wall behind me and I cursed myself for not running.
Coltons arms came up to the sides of my head keeping me just where he wanted me.
"And if I recall you liked the feeling I gave you..." he stepped even closer if it was possible taking any space we might have had.
I felt my cheeks heat up when I felt Colton Jr. on my stomach making my mouth drop a little. Just from that I could tell he would never fit me. He would break me in half.
"I do respect you Ruby." He hissed knocking me out of my train of thought.
"And you standing up to me not only makes me want you pinned to my bed but it also shows me that you can be a mafia Queen."
Ok he was smoking something because I was the weakest person I knew. I mean I could trip over air.
"You have so much strength in you that made me fall for you when I first met you."
"Which was when?" I asked. He sighed and stepped away a little and went back to sit down. I decided to get back to finishing up his back.
"You were six and I was twelve so you probably don't remember me." He started.
Flashback:
My sixth birthday party was a hit. Mom has thrown the biggest princess party that she could with everyone we knew there.

I had spent most of my party running around with friends and eating cake with my friends. I was six and didn't know any better when I was told not to go down to daddy's office.
I had wanted to dance with daddy and he wasn't in the ball room. I remember I had to jump up to even reach the handle to the door.
As I pushed it open I had seen a man standing over daddy desk looking through it and his computer.
"Who are you?" I asked making his face drop as he looked up to me.
"Umm I'm a friend." He smiled as he got up and moved closer to me. I was little so I didn't even thing to run.
"You don't look like one" I had never seen this man a day in my life and I knew most of my dads friends.
"Baby girl you need to promise me not to tell anyone I was here."
"DADDY!" I screamed as he got closer to me and I turned to run. Once I did I ran right into a wall. I was ready to fall but felt two arms hold me up.
Looking up I saw a boy a little older then me in a nice suit and tie. He smiled down at me before he faced all his anger to the man in front of me.
I wrapped my little arms around this boy for he was my only safety at the moment.
"What the hell do you think your doing Paul." The little boy hissed. Daddy said that was a bad word and that you shouldn't use bad words like that.
"You and your little princess better keep your mouths shut boy if you want what's good for you."
"And if we don't." The boy hissed and I held onto him a little tighter as I got scared.
"Then your going to have some big boy problems on your hands one day kid." The man pushed past us and walked out of the room leaving me with my knight.
He pulled me away a little so that he could get down to my size.
"Hey baby girl are you ok." He checked my arms for any cuts or something and then put his hands to my face wiping my tears off my face.
"Don't worry about that man princess. I'll take care of him and I can't take you back to your mommy and daddy."
I nodded my head wanting to go back to them now.
"Can I carry you baby? It will get us there faster with our your little legs." I nodded my head and he picked me up carrying me back to the party.
"What's your name?" I asked him playing with his tie that he had on.
"It's Colton baby girl."
"Colton." I smiled.
We walked into the ballroom together and people started to stare but I didn't mind.
"Does this mean we are friends!" I asked making him chuckle.
"Yes it does."
"Ruby!" I heard my mothers voice and looked up to see her and my father running to me.
My mother took me from Coltons arms and held me close hugging me tight.
"Colton thank you for finding her." My father sighed patting him on the shoulder.
"Sir there is something I would like to talk to you about." Colton said to my father who looked back to him.
"Yes of course. We should get your father as well though son."
I watched as my father and my new friend walked away together and I waved thanking him again.
End of flashback:
"You were so brave. You didn't care that this big man had threatened you to be quiet. You were going to run and tell your father. You didn't cry till he had left. Another thing you work on is trying to hid your emotions but you fail that with me." Colton said as I remember that time again.
I was so young I'm not surprised that I had forgotten about it.
"That day I told your father about Paul Weston and his men. Told him how his You were a brave little thing. Then we made an agreement. I would get to marry you."
I stopped cleaning his back and froze when I realized what he said.
He turned to face me and my body went cold from the look he was giving me.
"So baby you really have been mine for a long time."
