《Dorming With The Jocks》Chapter 9-

If it wasn't for the bright sun shining through my window shades I could've slept all day. I was awake before my alarm clock began ringing next to my bed. Normal people would carefully shut off the alarm, yawn peacefully, stretch with a smile on their face and thank the good Lord for this blessed day. That's not really me though. Every morning when my alarm starts screaming I slam my hand down on it so hard it shouldn't work anymore, although it always does. Not to mention without coffee in the morning there's no possible way for me to form a coherent sentence.
Classes started in an hour and a half so I had plenty of time to get dressed and go get some breakfast from the cafeteria. I rolled from my bed slowly, slipping into a pair of my black skinny jeans, a gray sweatshirt and some sneakers. Throwing my hair into a messy bun, I grabbed my school bag and left the room, trying not to think about Kent and why he hadn't come back to the room last night.
When I got to the main floor and eventually made it outside into the beautiful, crisp morning air I was greeted by the only person I wanted to avoid. Missy stood, leaning against the steps railing, playing with her polished fingernails. When she noticed I had come out of the building her face lit up and she smiled a bubbly smile my way.
"Sadie, there you are," Missy rushed up to me and I abruptly stopped walking and glared at her.
"What do you want?" Couldn't she take a hint and realize I did not want to be around her?
"I wanted to talk about yesterday, with you having to leave early and all I didn't get the chance to finish," Missy said with a sweet smile that I so did not buy. This girl was pure drama, from her $800 extensions to her fresh nails and designer jeans.
"Maybe another time we can talk drama, alright?" I pushed past her and began walking down the sidewalk towards the cafeteria. Missy was right on my heels.
"I know what you're thinking, Sadie! I totally get it, you think I'm crazy and want nothing to do with me," Everything she had said so far was the truth. "But haven't you ever been crazy about a guy before? Don't you know how that feels?"
"I don't understand what your feelings towards Kent have to do with me," I replied, not bothering to slow my pace so that she could catch up. She tried anyway.
"You're living with him, what sane teenage girl isn't going to be upset to find out their boyfriend is practically living with a girl?" I guess in a way Missy had a point, there was just one problem.
"Kent isn't your boyfriend, you two broke up," I snapped at Missy, finally slowly up a bit so she could be in step with me.
"It was just a misunderstanding, we are working on it," Missy said and I rolled my eyes, hoping she'd see. Suddenly Missy was sprinting in front of me and stopping, forcing me to stop. "I really like Kent, hell I'm in love with him alright Sadie. There is nothing I wouldn't do for that guy so that's why I wanted you to know. So you wouldn't get in the way of anything,"

Was Missy actually threatened by me? She really thought Kent and I were going to end up together or hook up just because we live in the same room. I couldn't deny that Kent was extremely attractive but I couldn't see him as anything other than an annoying control freak.
"Missy, you have my word that I am not going to be standing in anyways way," I muttered, stepping forward and thankfully Missy moved out of the way. She walked with me all the way to the cafeteria then we parted ways and I was free from her for the moment. So Missy really liked Kent, I get it, but that doesn't mean she needs to track down every single girl Kent talks to and threaten them.
Throughout the day I didn't run into Kent once, even though we usually see each other in the halls passing from 3rd to 4th periods. As much as I didn't want to think about Kent and where he was or where he had disappeared to last night, I couldn't stop myself either. I also didn't want to ask someone and risk having them run to Kent and let him know that I was asking about him. The guys got a big enough head as it is.
With classes finally over for the day I was walking back to the dorm when I accidently ran smack into someone's back, knocking myself backwards. I looked up to see who I needed to apologize for and saw Chunk smiling down at me, a bag of salt and vinegar chips in his hands. My favorite.
"Sorry about that pretty lady," He said with a mouth full of chips, wiping his hand on his pant before helping me up.
"Thank Chunk, and really I should be the one apologizing," I said getting slightly embarrassed. Chunk was a pretty heavy set guy so I wasn't surprised he didn't fall down and I did. Before I knew it, the twins and Squid showed up next to Chunk, greeting me with winks and high fives, nothing unusual.
"You look a little down, Princess, would you like some cheering up?" Squid asked with a flirty smile.
"Well that all depends on what you have in mind for cheering me up," I replied, feeling uneasy and taking a step back.
"We know a great place that'll help cheer you up," Jayden called out, pointing between his brother and himself before Squid could answer my question first.
"I have a pretty good idea myself," Chunk commented.
"You guys are sweet and all but I really should just go back to the room and study," I said, part of me wanting to go out and do something fun but also knowing I needed to study for a test in a couple of days.
"Oh come on Sadie, have a little fun," Squid whined and attempted to give me puppy dog eyes although they weren't very good. "How about this, we check out my place, then the twins and then see what Chunk has in mind? We'll have you back before 7 tonight,"
I glanced between the four guys and already knew I couldn't say no to them. Besides, I haven't had the chance to get off campus yet.
"Alright, fine you win," I gave in and the guys cheered and ushered me quickly towards the parking lot in front of our dorm.

"We can take my rig," Chunk announced as we got closer. The only thing I was hoping for was that these crazy, goofy, attractive guys could actually cheer me up and also keep me alive.
I was smashed between Jayden and Jace in the middle seats of Chunk's 2009 Hummer as we drove away from the strip club. It was Squid's idea. I never thought that a 15 year old freshman boy in a private high school would be so obsessed with girls that he would actually try to sneak himsef and four of his, underage, buddies into a strip club. We all were obviously not 18, even Chunk couldn't pass and he was the oldest out of all 5 of us.
"You're an idiot," Chunk muttered under his breath, for the tenth time, as we drove quickly away from the club. We were now headed to Jayden and Jace's place that was supposedly going to cheer me up. So far this trip wasn't doing so good in that area. I have to admit I was entertained.
"Don't worry Sadie, my place will be a lot better than that," Jace said as he casually draped his arm over my shoulders and traced his fingers on my arm. I found myself holding my breath as Jace's fingers lightly brushed against my arm, he was staring out the window, purposely not looking over at me. I carefully shrugged my shoulders in a certain way so his arm slid off of my shoulders finally.
The car ride was silent until Chunk finally switched on the radio and the silence was quickly replaced with all of our terrible, out of tune voices screaming at the top of our lungs. Within 10 minutes we were pulling into the parking lot of a huge building.
"Where exactly are we?" I asked Jace as he helped me out of the car, his hand grasping mine a moment longer than normal.
"The trampoline park," Squid answered my question before Jace and I could feel the inner child inside of me beginning to scream. They didn't have any trampoline parks where I grew up so I had only ever heard about them.
Jayden and Jace were kind enough to cover the cost for all of us when we got inside, we signed a quick waver they required you to sign and then we all were tearing off our shoes and rushing towards the trampolines. They had them everywhere! Even on the walls. They had a large strip that you could bounce down and land in a large foam pit. Whoever came up with the idea of a trampoline park is an amazing human.
Between watching Chunk attempt a back flip, and finally succeed on the fifth try, Jayden shoving Squid into the foam pit and Jace twisting his ankle trying to do some fancy trick, the last thing on my mind was Kent and the drama with Missy. So far these boys were doing amazing at cheering me up.
We only paid for an hour and that had to be one of the quickest hours I had ever experienced. Before we knew it we were being kicked out and jumping back into Chunk's car to head to our final destination for the night.
"Where to now?" I asked, starting to feel the adrenaline fading from my body.
"Trust me you'll like it," Chunk replied, looking at me through his rear view mirror and smirking.
A few minutes later Chunk was parking his hummer in front of a place called "Todd's Arcade", a small beaten up looking building that was obviously closed due to the huge CLOSED sign hanging on the front door.
"Why are we here? It's closed," Squid pointed out, even though we all could obviously see that.
"It's still better than your idea," Jace jabbed at Squid with his elbow and Squid shot him a dirty glance.
"Cool down guys," Chunk said starting to sound annoyed. He grabbed his cell phone, typed a quick message and then stood confidently in front of the door. In a moment a guy was opening the front door, he looked just like Chunk, just a bit thinner and slightly taller.
"I was wondering when you all would get here, bro," The guy asked, glancing me over once before opening the door wider for us all to come in. "Nice to see you again Squid,"
"Clark, my man, it's been a minute hasn't it?" Squid greeted, slapping his arm and chuckling. I could tell that those two had a history by the way they spoke, like they have known each other for a while.
"I'm Clark, Chester's older brother," Clark introduced himself to Jayden, Jace and I with a big smile and held out his hand for me to shake.
He winked at me as he shook my hand and I pulled my hand from his grip.
"You know I get hit on enough just because I live in a dorm full of guys, I don't need it from you too," I playfully snapped and Clark laughed even louder.
"I like them feisty. Alright guys, come on, it's all yours," Clark flipped a switch that turned on all the lights and let us examine the place. Games were everywhere, from skee ball to candy vending machines and those cute photo booths you take pictures inside.
"Chester, huh?" I elbowed Chunk in the side playfully and he shot me a quick glare.
"Keep it on the down low, please," He begged quietly and I couldn't help but laugh.
"Don't be shy, everything's free tonight," Clark encouraged us and we were off. Squid and I tying each other to the skee ball machines, Jace and Chunk beginning to race and Jayden killing zombies.
"So do you work here too, Chunk?" I asked after we had been there for a good 45 minutes.
"Nah, I mean only if my dad needs my help. My dad owns this place and right now he and Clarke run it," Chunk explained to me. "Enough talking though, let's have some fun!"
And we all did. I jumped around the arcade from game to game, racing with Chunk and playing air hockey, and winning, against Jace. Around 11 at night we were finally piling back into Chunk's vehicle and on our way back to the dorm. When Jace decided to daringly drape his arm across my shoulders again I was too exhausted to shy away from it. Besides, it didn't mean anything to me at least.
