《Dorming With The Jocks》Chapter 7-

"Is there actually any logic behind this or are you purposely torturing me?" I tried not to scream as Kent continued to laugh and pour yet another bag of ice into the tub that I was sitting in. He had been laughing for the past half hour now as I had tried to get enough courage built up to slip into the freezing tub.

"Just sit still already, moving around isn't going to help," Charlie commented from where he stood, leaning against the door way with his arms crossed and a smile on his handsome face. At least someone was enjoying themselves.

"The quicker you stop moving around the quicker your body will go numb," Kent said reaching into the water to hold my legs down.

"You suck, do you know that?" I growled wishing I could punch him in the face and force him to sit in this tub instead. My comment and glare did nothing to dampen Kent's joyful mood as he stared at me from the end of the tub and continued to laugh.

"Why are you torturing the poor girl? Isn't it bad enough that she has to share a room with you?" Charlie asked as he moved into the room now and glanced down at the tub full of ice.

"If she doesn't do this she'll be extremely sore from being tackled by your fat ass, I'm being nice and helping her," Kent defended himself with a snicker.

"Oh so this is Charlies fault too?" I asked and Kent nodded. "Then you're a jerk too," I said to Charlie who looked offended but started to laugh as well.

"Quit laughing already. When can I get out of here?" I think any sane person would be just as annoyed as I am if they were being held against their will in an ice filled tub.

"Just five more minutes, sweetheart. Try and focus on something else," Kent mumbled, still holding on to my calves.

"Don't call me that," He was holding me captive and Charlie was doing nothing about it. This is illegal.

"So you saw who princess was talking to tonight right?" Charlie suddenly asked, changing the subject.

"It wasn't some douche-bag right?" Kent asked, not seeming all that interested.

"Nope, it was Missy. Right before she came over to talk to you,"

"She was talking to Missy?"

"Yup, the Missy," Charlie reassured.

"You mean, Sadie," Kent nodded his head towards me but didn't make eye contact. "was talking to Missy,"

"Yes, the one and only,"

"You're joking,"

"I am not,"

Then, as if they rehearsed, both Kent and Charlie turned to look at me.

"What's the big deal anyway?" I asked, feeling even more annoyed.

"Don't talk to her," Kent demanded, red beginning to rise to his face.

"You can't tell me who I can and can't talk to Kent," I fired back, getting upset now more than annoyed.

"No one in this dorm talks to her which means you can't talk to her either. We hate her, so you hate her. Got it?" Kent said. I stood up abruptly, ice falling every which way, and placed my hands on my hips. The instant warmth that washed over my body was almost enough for me to relax. I'm glad I had chose the black sports bra and shorts instead of my white ones.

"If you think you can control me then you're in for a rude awakening, buddy. Who you hate has nothing to do with me, got it? Don't try to order me around," I said, having to crane my neck almost all the way back just to make eye contact with him. He crossed his arms and stepped closer to me.

"When she stabs you in the back I'll be waiting for you to come crying back and tell me I was right to begin with, you naïve little girl," He growled down at me, his glare colder than the ice I had previously been sitting in.

"You're such an asshole," I replied, stepping out of the tub and nearly sprinting from the bathroom, down the hall and into our dorm room. A trail of ice cubes and water leaving a path behind me.

"Where are you going?" Kent yelled, he was right behind me but luckily I had enough of a head start that I was able to get into our room and lock the door before he could catch up. "What do you think you're doing Sadie?"

"You aren't going to treat me like a child, got it?" I yelled through the door. Kent pounded on the door some more.

"If you continue acting like a child I'll continue treating you like a child! Open the door!" Kent yelled back. "I'm serious!"

"So am I!"

"Unlock the door Sadie," His voice was a bit calmer now but he was still extremely upset.

"Not going to happen until you apologize,"

"I'll break this door down!" He threatened and I couldn't help but laugh.

"You'll have to pay for it later, smart one,"

For a few seconds he didn't reply and finally I heard him sigh.

"Whatever, you just wait, I'll get you back," I heard his footsteps walking away and waited a few more seconds before unlocking our door but not opening it. I'll just let him continue thinking it's locked.

The harsh, white glow from my alarm clock on my nightstand pierced through my skull as I cracked my eyes open slowly.

2:45 am.

Not this again.

I felt the rock in my stomach begin to form as my chest tightened with each breath I took. My head was already pounding with a severe headache and my fingertips began to tingle. Why did this have to happen now?

As quietly as I could, I slipped out of my bed, the cool linoleum floor felt amazing on my hot feet while I stumbled from our room, hoping not to wake Kent up. My head continued to spin. I just needed to sit in the shower for a little bit, calm down some and then I'd be able to go back to bed. No one would have to know anything.

Even without any lights on I could still see shadows and I made it to the bathroom just as my breathing was becoming shaky. Pins and needles shot up my legs and neck as I yanked the first shower stall's handle to turn on the hottest water possible.

Without waiting for the water to warm up I plunged myself into the stream of water and collapsed onto the tile floor. As the water warmed up, I allowed the water to pour over my face, relaxing into the familiarity of my comfort. The shaking was still there but within ten minutes I'd be as good as new and ready to go back to bed.

"Sadie?" I jumped at the sound of my voice and immediately my head began to pound again, "It's just me,"

Kent was standing somewhere behind me where I sat on the shower floor in my soaking clothes, his voice sounded muffled though.

"W-what are you doing?" I managed to whisper, pulling my knees up into my chest and hugging them tightly. Embarrassment began creeping up my neck. Kent probably thought I was the weirdest girl ever, escaping in the middle of the night to sit on the showers floors.

"I woke up and you weren't in your bed so I wanted to make sure you were okay," Kent's voice was low and if I had to guess I would even go as far as saying he might be concerned.

I finally turned my head back to look up at him. In the dark I couldn't see him very well but what I could tell was that Kent was standing at the end of the stall, back facing me while he leaned against the edge of the tiled wall.

"So? Are you okay, or what?" Kent asked after a few moments of silence, now he just sounded annoyed. Who wouldn't be annoyed if their roommate had woken them up in the middle of the night to go sit in a shower?

"Uh, yeah, I'll be fine. You can go back to bed now," I tucked my chin back into my knees and tried to relax back into the hot water. Kent didn't say another word but he also didn't leave for a few more minutes. After my stunt earlier, locking him out of the room dramatically and all, I couldn't imagine why Kent was being kind to me. I was thankful for it though.

Ten minutes later when I finally turned off the water and stood up, Kent was gone but a clean towel was hanging on the wall and I knew for a fact I hadn't grabbed a towel before.
