Yawning and stretching I push my laptop out of the way.

I've watched like four movies back to back and I don't even know if anyone has came back home yet.

Should I go and check?

I'm kind of thirsty so I guess I'll just check downstairs.

Flinging my covers off my body I slip into my slippers and casually walk down the stairs to the kitchen.

Opening the fridge I grab a small bottle of fresh orange juice.

Sipping my orange juice I scroll through my phone.

Someone walks into the kitchen. Looking up from my phone I see someone wearing grey sweats with no shirt on.

His bare chest fully exposed. Stretching, his muscles flex making him look more bigger than he already is.

I quickly look away from him.

I hear him opening a drawer and grabbing a glass, soon the tap water is heard.

"Um Scarlett," Derek say's with a raspy voice.

My eyes go wide.

I ignore him, why does he need to be the one I bump into?

"Scarlett," he say's again.

Ignoring him again, suddenly I feel his hand lightly wrap around my arm.

He turns me around to face him, I slightly gasp looking at his face.

Now able to get a closer look at his face I see a big gash below his eyebrow showing the flesh inside the cut, his bottom lip is cut with dry blood around it and he has a huge purple bruise on his cheekbone.

I remove my arm from his hand and take a step back.

"Umm," is all he say's as he looks at the first aid kit laid out on the counter and then back at me.

What? He wants me to help him with his injuries?

Well I think not!

I shake my head no to him.

He sighs, picks up the solution to clean his cuts. Pouring the liquid onto a cotton pad he dabs it on his cuts making him hiss in pain.

I scrunch my nose as if I could feel his pain too.

I roll my eyes at him and take the cotton pad from his hand.

I don't even know why I'm helping him.

Am I really that naive?

He sits on a stool at the island facing towards me so that his face level with mine.

I lightly dab the cotton pad on the gash below his eyebrow, he winces and moves back.

"Stop moving," I say slightly annoyed.

"Sorry," he say's and leans forward.

"I'm sorry," he say's again but I ignore him.

"I'm sorry Scarlett. I'm sorry for what I did to you and what I said about you," he say's looking into my eyes as my eyes catch his.

"I don't accept your apology," I say and continue to dab the cut on his lip.

"Okay I understand that, but I am really sorry. I don't- actually think about you like the things I said," he say's.

Instantly I aggressively dab at his cut causing him yelp in pain.

"Ahhh fuck!" He say's looking at me in disbelief.

I don't say anything as look at him with blank stare. I aggressively grab his face with one hand pulling him forwards and continue to clean his cut but a bit softer this time.

"Okay I deserve that," he say's.

"You deserve more than that," I say sharply.

"I agree actually, Damon actually let me off easy," he say's.

"That was being let off easy?" I question confused.

"Well yeah, he would have fucked me up even more but he could tell that I was on something," he say's.

"What do you mean?" I ask as I put a small bandage over his cut.

"I did take some drugs this morning before I came into your room. And Damon could tell from looking at my eyes, that's why he kind of went easy on me," he say's watching me closely as I'm focused on placing bandages on him.

"Stop staring at me," I say sternly but he continues to stare.

"I'm sorry I did that to you, I guess I felt a lot more impulsive that's why I did what I did. But that doesn't excuse the fact that I was going to do something really bad to you," he say's truthfully.

I finish cleaning him up and take a step away from him.

"You really scared me Derek," I say looking at him.

"Like-like you really scared me cause I just got away from Caleb and still dealing with what he did to me. And then all of a sudden you did that to me" I say sadly as a tear slips from my eye.

"I know I'm really sorry, that was so fucked up what I did," he say's standing up and taking a step closer to me.

He stands so close to me. "I still don't forgive you,"I say wiping my tears away as I push one hand out placing it on Derek's torso and push him away from me.

He takes a step back.

"That's okay, I just want to let you know that I truly am sorry," he say's genuinely.

"Okay," is all I say as I don't know what else to say to him.

"Can I get a hug," Derek say's teasingly all of a sudden as he holds his arms out.

"No," I say shaking my head.

"Come on please," he say's like a child which causes a smile to play on my lips.

"No," I say again while swatting his hands away from me.

"Aww come on please," he say's again as he gets closer and tries to catch my arms but I keep hitting his hands away.

I laugh as he keeps teasing me.

All of a sudden Devon walks in and me and Derek freeze.

"What are you both doing?" Devon asks suspiciously.

"Nothing," Derek and I say in unison.

"Okaaay," Devon say's as he looks at us weirdly.

"Well I'm going to bed now, Goodnight," I say quickly and rush out of the kitchen and straight to my bedroom.
