《His Angels》sequel: chapter forty-two

"Breathe baby, breathe," I told Brynn as she laid on the hospital bed.
"What do you think I'm doing jackass?" She snaps not looking in my direction.
"I wouldn't be surprised if she got up mid contraction and kicked your ass." Dylan chuckles.
I glared at him but my attention goes back to Brynn when she grips my hand harder. "I hate childbirth." She mutters.
"I'm sorry baby." I kissed her head. She leans into my body and I wrapped my arms around her to comfort her.
She was a little over her due date, but she didn't want to get induced since she heard it was painful so we just waited until her water broke.
Which broke while she was getting aroused. We've been here for almost eight hours now and she is trying to do it without the epidural. I don't know what else to say other than, my fiancé is superwoman.
Dylan came to bring us food well ice for Brynn and also because he wanted to be the first other than Brynn and me to hold the baby.
Brynn and I decided to not find out the gender until birth because why not? Our nursery was grey-themed so very gender-neutral if I do say so myself.
Our kids, however, were very upset when we announced that we weren't going to find out the gender. Sol and Bodhi threw a temper tantrum that lasted for almost an hour and Journey was moping around the house like someone killed her dog.
Over the past couple of our family has been great, more than great. The kids have been super helpful around the house and do what they need to be doing almost all the time.
Apparently one day Brynn was lecturing the kids on why wet toilet paper shouldn't be thrown on the shower walls. Mid-lecture she got cramps and according to the kids, "she almost died" and ever since then they haven't caused any more trouble.

At least not when she's home.
Brynn and I's relationship gets better and better every day. There is not a day where we've argued... I lied we argue every day but it's over little things like why is the toilet paper going out from under and not over.
Or why am I not cuddling her close enough. Regardless I just let her yell at me until she's done. Once she lets out all the anger for the day she's good to go.
"Alright, I think it's time to start pushing." The nurse says. Dylan struts out of the room while I continued to stay at my fiancé's side.
"You got this baby, I'm here with you." I kissed her head.
She squeezes my hand, "I love you."
"I love you."
The doctors instruct her to push, and she goes as hard as she can.
Before we came here, she "warned" how ugly her face could get but all I saw was strength and beauty.
She was laying here, about to push a whole human being out of her vagina. Women do not get enough credit at all.
I kissed her hand a couple of times, squeezing it when I knew she was in pain.
The sound of the baby's cry fills the room, making me smile. Our baby is finally here.
"You did such an amazing job baby, I'm so proud of you." I kissed her lip. I wiped the tears away from her face.
My poor baby.
"Congratulations, it's a boy." The nurse lays the baby on Brynn's chest.
A tear slowly slips down my cheek, as I slowly touch the baby's arm gently. This is such a beautiful experience, something that I haven't gotten with my other kids.
"He's kinda ugly," Brynn whispers making us both laugh, wiping my tears away.
"Did you say that with the twins too?" I asked, even though I already knew the answer.

She nods but holds the baby and looks up at me. "Thank you for having a weak pull-out game."
The people in the room fall into a fit of laughter while I playfully glared at her.
She winks, smiling and I can't help but put my lips onto hers.

"Where's my godson?" Dylan strides into the room holding a McDonald's bag.
"He's sleeping," Brynn whispers rocking the baby back and forth.
Dylan places the bag on the table and Brynn reaches out for it.
"No, you stay still. Jax feed her." He slaps the back of my head. I slapped his arm and opened up the box of nuggets.
I put one in her mouth, and she takes the whole thing chewing it.
"Mommy! I'm here, where's the baby?" Sol runs in the room followed by Bodhi, Journey, and Chloe who was holding baby Blake.
Levi, Issac, and the triplets came to visit already. The triplets fought over who got to hold the new baby before Levi decided to put them in time out.
That's the first time I've seen him yell and let's just say it was scary.
We've facetimed everyone else who couldn't come visit today so they were able to see the newborn.
"Was it a boy or a girl?" Journey asks standing next to me. I lifted Sol and Bodhi up onto the bed carefully and then put Journey on the other side.
"It's a boy." Brynn smiles.
"Oh, my gosh mommy." Bodhi starts before he finally gets a full look at the newborn. "Why does the baby look like that?"
Brynn snorted making Chloe, Dylan and I erupt into a fit of laughter.
"I'm not sure how to answer your question, Bobo." I ruffled his hair, making it a mess.
"He's so wrinkly." Sol shudders.
"You looked just like that too when you first came out," Dylan tells her.
She gasps dramatically, "I was this ugly?"
Journey nods her head, "Uglier actually."
I bit back a burst of laughter as Sol gasped again and then starts an argument with her older sister.
"So have you guys decided on a name?" Chloe asks.
"Sunflower Monroe." I smiled.
I watched as Dylan and Chloe's eyes widen. "Sun-sunflower? Are you sure?" Chloe asks trying to sound nice but her facial expression tells us that she hates it.
"Yep." Brynn smiles.
"Please don't, your child will get made fun of every day of his life." Dylan pleads. "I can't be the godfather if you name him Sunflower. I'll look stupid."
Brynn laughs and I give her my fist, making her bump it.
"We were joking." She smiles, "His name is Leighton Monroe."
"Oh thank god." Dylan breathes out and Chloe lets out a loud sigh.
"Well Leighton, Lei for short we're your brothers and sisters." Journey whispers, kissing the baby's head.
"Welcome to the family." Bodhi whispers.
"It's gonna be a long ride buddy." Dylan mumbles.
You got that one right.

I didn't write much about her pregnancy because I just felt like it would've been a bit boring since she spent the majority of the time throwing up anyways.
I'm not sure if I'm going to write another book with the characters in this one but I do have the thoughts floating in my head. I'll let you guys know when I decide.
I hope you guys enjoy your weekend/day. Please remember to stay safe, I love you. MUAH!!!
