"Brynnley, can I ask you a favor?" Jackie asks pulling me to the side. I nodded without any hesitation.

Jax was currently upstairs in his old room, watching tv with the kids while Jackie and I were making dinner.

Today, Jax was going to meet Carlos, who is Jackie's boyfriend. They met back when I was a sophomore year in college but they didn't start dating until a couple of months ago.

He does business internationally so he only comes home every two weeks before going back out to work.

"Can you please keep Jax calm? He's always been very overprotective. Carlos won't be intimidated but he'll make jokes which might piss him off." She tells me.

"Yeah, I can try. Why don't you just threaten to kick his butt or something? You're his mom." I asked jokingly.

"Well, I don't want to look crazy in front of Carlos!" She exclaims making laughter erupt from me.

I rolled my eyes in a jokingly manner, "Fine, I'll be the crazy one tonight."

"Thank you, baby." She kisses my temple.

Jackie and I split apart as she goes to open the door for Carlos while I went upstairs to get Jax and the kids.

Sol beams at the sight of me entering the room. "Is Carlos here yet mommy?"

I nodded, "You three can go downstairs. I need to have a serious talk with your dad."

I give Jax a pointed look. All the kids' eyes widen at the tone of my voice.

"Uh-oh papa, you're in trouble," Bodhi says patting Jax's shoulder who looks very confused.

He's probably getting some flashbacks, trying to figure out what he did wrong.

"Good luck daddy, love you." Journey kisses his cheek before running out behind Bodhi.

Sol walks over to me, pulling me down, "Don't be too mean to him, he's sensitive." She whispers making me laugh.

"No promises."

She giggles before running off. I closed the door behind me walking over to Jax. I sat down next to him but he quickly pushes me down, intertwining our fingers, then pinning them above my head.

Oh, how I love this position.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"I don't know what I did but don't hit me." He says scrunching up his face.

"Is that why we're in this position?" I looked up at him as he nods. "You act like I hit you every five minutes for fun."

"You do!" He argues letting my hands go and then burying his head in the crook of my neck.

"I hit you when you don't listen! Plus it doesn't even hurt." I hit his shoulder and he pretends like I just shot him in the arm.

I looked at him in disbelief. "You overdramatic big-headed orangutan," I mumbled making him gasp.

"You're rude too! I might just have to file a report on you for both physical and verbal abuse."

I rolled my eyes and crossed my arm. "And what? Get a restraining order on me?"

"Maybe, possibly." He says.

"But then who's gonna ride you when you're horny?" I asked with an eyebrow raised.

He stares at me while my smirk grew, "I should've thought that through."

"Yeah, you should've. Stupidity gets you one week with no sex." I pushed his off of my body, going to stand up.

Instead, his hand grabs onto the back of my skirt and pulls me back down. His other hand immediately slides under my skirt cupping my heat.

"Jax." I squealed. His green eyes, staring at me intently. They've darkened. "Not the time."

"Why? We can do a quickie."

"If your ass doesn't behave at dinner tonight then you get none of this." I motioned towards my lower area.

He rolls his eyes taking his finger to flick my clit against the little piece of fabric of my thong. I gasped and immediately removed his hand from under my skirt.

"You're an ass, Monroe." I kissed his lips.

"You like it." He smirks holding my face in place, giving me kisses on every inch of my face.

"Ugh sadly." I jokingly groaned making him place a nice smack on my right butt cheek.

We went downstairs where Carlos was playing with the twins and Journey was watching and laughing. Jackie was just observing holding a bright smile on her face.

It was good to see her happy and all smiley. She deserves happiness. A lot of it.

"Oh Carlos, my son is here." Jackie says catching Carlos' attention.

"Oh hey. I'm Carlos Hernandez, it's very nice to finally get to meet you."

Jax doesn't make a move yet so I pat his back really hard since I was standing behind him.

"I was getting there woman." He mutters turning back to look at me while I give him the world's innocent smile.

"I'm Jax Monroe, it's nice to meet you too." Jax shakes Carlos' hand.

Carlos keeps a smile on his face while Jax kinda holds a not-so-friendly one. Honestly, Carlos doesn't even seem fazed by it.

"Hi Carlos, it's good to see you again." I went to hug him.

"You too Brynn. How's the new marketing team going?"

"Oh, they are wonderful. Thank you for the suggestion." I smiled.

Carlos helped me gather the best marketing team. Since he has been in the business industry longer than I have, he had a lot of knowledge so he would give me a bunch of recommendations and suggestions to build the best team.

"Are you guys starving yet?" Jackie asks.

Carlos nods, "I'm famished."

Jackie leads him into the kitchen as the kids follow behind.

"Famished? Who even says that?" Jax rolls his eyes. I turned around and grabbed his balls through his pants.

He grunts lowly, looking down at me. "I know you're overprotective of your mother but that doesn't mean you should be rude to him okay? He makes her happy and if you scare him off and ruin this for her, I'll make you sleep in the guest room for two months without any sex."

He gulps while I have him my infamous smile. "Fine, fine you win." I let go of him and kissed his cheek. "I hate how you always threaten me with sex."

"It works though."

I turned to get ready to walk into the kitchen but he pulls me back. He wraps his hand around my neck. "Next time you grab my balls like that, I'm taking you right then and there."

"Okay." I winked making him groan. He places multiple kisses on my lips before moving his hand towards my backside ushering me into the kitchen.

For the rest of the night, Jax behaved, and Carlos kept making all of us laugh with his jokes.

Jackie held such a bright, big smile on her face it made me want to cry several times but I kept it in.

I'm so glad she's happy.

Bruh, I'm so jealous of Jax and Brynn's relationship. It's so unfair :(

If you've read the off-campus series let me know which one is your favorite book and who's your favorite guy!! Mine is The Goal and I can't choose between Garrett and Tucker. I love them both.

I also hate how underrated Tucker is, like he is a REAL man. I cried after finishing his book because he was just so beautiful.
