《His Angels》chapter thirty-six

"I'm not sure who gave me this black eye!" I yelled at Kyle who was fuming again. It's been two weeks and he's still asking me.
"Not even the color of his eyes or his hair?" He asks pacing around the lunchroom.
"No. It was pitch black when I was walking home." I laid my head down on the table.
I remembered who but I wasn't going to tell them. I didn't want them to get in trouble for jumping a guy.
Kylie gives me a sad look before combing my hair with her finger.
"Hey, guys!" Paris' annoying voice chimes.
I turned around to look at her. Her eyes land on my black eye and she starts smirking.
She's been suspended for two weeks so it's the first time she saw me with a black eye.
"Who did that to you? Oh, you poor baby." She reaches out to touch me but I moved back.
"If you touch her I will gladly beat the shit out of you." Kylie threatens.
"Whatever. Anyways you so deserved that beating for all the embarrassment you've put me through." She laughs twirling her hair.
"Shut up and walk away Paris. We don't have time to listen to your annoying squeaky ass voice." Kyle snaps at her.
"I'm about to leave anyway. Make sure to watch your back." She threatens.
I got up quickly and pinned her against the wall.
"Do you have something to do with this?" I snapped.
She grins. "Nope."
"When I found out who's been helping you. I'll beat the dog shit out of you."
"Is that a threat Brynnley?" She asked.
"No, it's a fucking promise," I said through my gritted teeth.
"What about your perfect record?" She gulps when I pushed her harder against the wall.

"I don't give a shit about it anymore." I spat staring at her dead in the eye.
She gulps again, fear in her eyes. She knows I could stomp on her face. I just choose not to.
Blair was coming over today to meet my mom and to spend time with Journey.
Journey won't stop asking for Brynn.
There is a picture in her room with her and Brynn. She takes that picture to sleep with her now.
The doorbell rang and I went to go get it. Blair stood there with a face full of makeup. A very revealing dress and her famous dumb lip pout thing.
"Hey, baby." She winks at me. I mentally gagged.
"Don't call me baby. Please." I said nicely. I moved aside so she could walk inside.
"Oh my gosh! Mrs. Monroe, it's nice to meet you!" She runs over to my mom and hugs her.
My mom blinks and doesn't hug her back.
"It's not Mrs. Monroe. It's Ms. Moore." She corrects Blair.
"I'm sorry I didn't know." Blair apologizes and then turns around walking back to me. My mom rolls her eyes and glared at me.
"So Blair, why do you suddenly want to be Journey's mom?"
"I just missed her a lot and I realized that she need a mother figure so I came back." Blair smiles proudly as if she won over my mother with that one sentence.
My mom was tough. She doesn't just accept anyone anymore. It took her 5 months to let Kian come over for dinner.
"Do you want a relationship with my son?"
"Well yeah." Blair answers with a 'duh' tone.
"Why?"
"He's the father of my child and incredibly charming." She grins at me.

*gags*
"Hmmm. Do you think you'll be good enough for Journey?" My mom asks and I shoot her a look.
"Well of course," Blair says.
"Wrong." My mom says quickly. "A parent will never think she or he is good enough for their child. Well, I've got what I needed." My mom stands up and walks upstairs.
"Watch out for her." My mom mouths and I nod.
Blair looks confused.
"Let's just go upstairs." We went into Journey's room.
Journey was sitting in her crib playing with her stuffed elephants. She looks at me and smiles.
"Hey, baby. Your mom's here." I picked her up.
"No mama." She says.
"Yeah. She's right here." I point to Blair. Blair smiles at Journey who just looks away.
I tried to hand her to Blair but she holds to me tightly.
"No dada no!" She cries.
"It's okay if she isn't comfortable with me yet." Blair smiles. I give her an apologetic look.
I put Journey back into her crib. She lays down as I watch her slowly fall asleep.
We go into my room to discuss some co-parenting things.
"You could sit on the bed," I said. If only she was Brynnley.
"Sure." She sits down next to me. Very closely may I add.
We started to have a conversation about how our lives have been going. During the conversation, she places her hand on my thigh.
I just brushed it off. She starts sliding it up higher.
"What are you doing?" I spat moving away from her.
"You don't want to make love?" She asks moving closer.
"I don't love you."
"But we have a child together? Why not give her a sibling?" She smirks and batted her lashes at me.
"Are you crazy? I don't want to have another child with you." As mean as that sounded it was the truth.
"Why? Because you're in love with that bitch Brynney?" She spats.
"Do not call Brynn a bitch!" I defended.
"How come you love her and not me! We have a baby together!"
Is she serious?
"Just because we have a daughter together doesn't mean I love you."
"So what you're just gonna let her call Brynney up and tell her that she can be the mother figure to my Journey?!"
"Brynnley did a better job of being a mother. She was here more than you were."
"Because I didn't want that damn baby! I just wanted to have sex with you!" She yells stomping out. She leaves slamming the door.
My mother comes out of the room. "I called it."
"Mom," I said lowly.
"What's wrong?" She puts her hand on my shoulder.
"I miss Brynnley." She engulfs me in a hug.
"Then go apologize and show her how sorry you are." She says and I nod.
I was going to get her back. I don't think I could last longer without her.
