《His Angels》chapter seven

After landing back in Orlando, my mom had my limo driver pick Journey and I from the airport.

I definitely didn't miss the humidity here.

I saw Brynn's instagram story with her in that black dress that showed every beautiful curve on that sexy ass body.

I've had an on and off crush on Brynn since kindergarten.

I never had the guts to ask her out. I always thought I wasn't good enough.

She moved away in middle school but came back during freshman year of high school. When she came back my best friend at the time Braxton knew I had a crush on her so he asked her out and she said yes.

After that Braxton and I were never the same. He ended up cheating on her with my girlfriend at the time.

I was gonna walk up to her and talk to her but Rex and Kyle wouldn't let any guy go near her. She was devastated and I felt the same pain as her.

After so many tries I eventually gave up and became Riverside High's player. I wanted to make sure she would end up wanting me.

I still like her and think about her all the time but getting her wasn't my priority anymore, taking care of my daughter and making sure she has the best life is.

I still want Brynn though. I mean who wouldn't. She was gorgeous. Not only that, she was smart and kind to almost everyone. She has her moments though.

After arriving at my house I felt a sudden feeling that something wasn't going right at the party.

I've always had an instinct with people and parties. I rarely go to parties.

For example in the 5th grade I had an instinct that my mom got hurt, she came back home with a broken arm.

In the 9th grade I had an instinct that Brynn got hurt and I was right, she came back to school with a broken toe.

Last year I also had an instinct with my mom and she was in the hospital for a broken pinky finger.

My mom has broken more bones than I've had girls in bed to be honest.

I'd always get an instinct and most of the times I was right.

I wanted to go to the party to make sure.

"Hey mom." I asked going down the stairs with Journey on my hips.

"Yes love?"

"I need to go to a party." I asked nervously. She is the only person that could ever make me nervous. After all she is my mother.

"Why? What's going on? You look worried."

"It's just something feels off." I asked and she nods. She is the only one that knows. "I have it right now and I feel of getting stronger."

"Give me Journey. Go make sure everything's okay." She told me and I nod. I grabbed the keys and got in my car.

I drove to Ryan's house as fast as I can without passing the speed limit.

I feel like I have magical powers.

I parked my car and got out. I was greeted by a couple dry humping each other on the grass. That's just gross.

"Yo! Jax Monroe? What are you doing here?" Ryan says swinging his arm on my shoulder.

I don't even like him like that.

"Looking for someone." I took his arm off my shoulder.

"Who?"

"Brynn."

"Oh fuck she's with Braxton. He's trying to fuck her right now." He slurs. I clenched my fists.

"Why would she do that?"

"I can trust you?" He says spitting in my face in the process.

Gross.

"Yeah." I lied.

"We dared Braxton that if he can get Brynn in bed with him we will give him $500. We heard screaming but we didn't wanna interrupt them. I think they were arguing about something." He says before passing out.

I rolled my eyes and jogged upstairs, opening up every door available. I don't care if I knocked the doors off the hinges, I just needed to get to her before... I can't even say or think about it.

I opened the last door at the end of the hallway.

"Please." She pleaded one last time before Braxton's fist flies directly into her face, knocking her out.

I stomp over, my first connection to his adam's apple knocking his body off of hers. "Ayo, what the fuck?" He exclaims. His eyes flash up to me while I grab the collar of his shirt bringing him against the wall.

"Touch her again asshole and I'll kill you."

He chuckles, "Yeah right–" Before he could say anything else I smashed my fist into the same spot he did with Brynnley over and over again until I felt his body go limp. I threw his body to the side and immediately went over to check on Brynn.

Thankfully her dress was fully intact, the bottom of it laying above her hips and her underwear was still intact. I slid the bottom of her dress back down so it was covering her.

Her body jolts, "No! Please!" She begs, tears spilling out of her eyes.

"Shush, it's only me. It's Jax." I gently caress the top of her cheek gently.

She looks up, those glossy blue eyes staring right at me, "Jax? When– when'd you get here?"

"I had a feeling. Are you okay? Should we take you to the hospital?"

She shakes her head, "My face hurts but I– I don't know."

I gently wiped away the tears that fell onto her cheek, "Can I take you home? Or my house? Wherever you feel comfortable."

"I don't want to see my dads looking like this, would it be okay if I stayed over a few nights?"

"Yes, of course. C'mon," I hold out my hands. She uses my hands to lift herself up.

"Jax?"

"Yes, Brynn?"

"Thank you for getting here when you did. I could've gotten–" She looks away not being able to think about what could've happened if I showed up ten minutes later.

I couldn't think about it either, it made me sick to my stomach. How could he be so cruel?

"No worries, let's get you somewhere safer."

We walked by Rex who stops me, as he notices the bruises forming on Brynn's face. "Where the fuck do you think you're going with her? What the hell happened?"

He steps in between Brynn and me but she gripped my hand tightly.

I narrowed my eyes at him, "Move."

"Let go of her now." Kyle and Kylie walked up although Kylie is swaying a lot.

"He didn't hit me," Brynn whispered as she tried to lean on something. I shoved him to the side, wrapping one arm under the back of her knees and another one around her back and lifting her up. Her head immediately laid on my chest.

I blew out a breath, "Braxton got to her, he's the one that did this. I need to take her out of here."

"Where's he?" Kyle growls.

"Upstairs, last room at the end of the hallway."

"Brynnley?"

She turns her head to Kylie, tears in her eyes. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah."

Without letting them ask her anything else, I take her back to my house. They can bombard her with more questions when she feels better.
