A week has passed since we returned. And as Vaughn has said, he kept his promise. Although the last few days he had got more busy as he had some important projects to handle. He even came home at late night, after I slept. But still he is trying to spend as much time with me as he could. I am happy that he has kept his words.

Currently I am lying on the bed, reading. But my mind is drifting to Vaughn. So I decided to call him. I hope he picks up as he is very busy nowadays.

The bell rings, as I waited for him to pick. After few rings, the call answered, I was happy and was about to speak when an unexpected voice spoke from other side -

"Hi Aveliene, I am Veronica, Vaughn is with me amd we are busy in a very important........work. So don't disturb us." She said rudely and paused. And I stood frozen with disbelief, on listening her next words.

"Vaughn why are you away, come close, baby" , she said and before I could say anything she ended the call.

I stood there staring at the phone. Anger build up inside me. While my eyes brimmed with tears of rage. Is this the work he was busy doing. Is he cheating on me? My heart was saying that he can't cheat on me, but my mind was repeating Veronica's words. I don't trust her. She could go too low to achieve what she wants. And last time I check she wants Vaughn.

I don't know what to do, should I call him again? Should I go to his office and confront him? But what if he has lied to me about that also. I know he was a playboy but he said that it is all past. But I can't stop thinking. Maybe he lost his patience as I know we haven't consummated our marriage yet, and he is a man with his needs. But he said he will wait for me.

Gosh! What should I trust?

I took deep breaths to calm myself. And decided to talk to him tonight.

You have an important explanation to do ,Mr Vaughn Rodriguez.

It was around dinner time, while here I am standing in the living room looking at the beautiful garden ahead, waiting for Vaughn. I have already texted him to come early.

I could hear the footsteps behind me but I didn't turn. Instantly familiar cologne hit my nostrils, as warm hands slipped around my waist. But still I didn't reacted.

"I missed you, baby", Vaughn said in a tired tone. And instantly I pushed him away and turned.

Vaughn looked taken aback by my sudden action. He raised his eyebrow in a confused expression.

While I tried to calm myself as anger build up inside me as how dare he touch me, with his filthy hands.

I took a deep a breath and spoke-

"Where were you Vaughn?" I asked in a calm tone, not loosing my control.

He furrowed his eyebrows as if I have asked him a silly question.

"From office", he said in a duh tone and shrugged.

While I was still not satisfied with his answer.

"What were you doing there?" I asked again.

"Work?", he said and gave me a questioning look.

"So what work were you doing with Veronica?", I stated without further exaggeration as now I was loosing my cool.

He studied me for a moment then spoke-

"What do you mean, Aveliene?" He asked sincerely. While confusion was plastered on his face.

"Oh don't act that you are oblivious Vaughn, I knew you were with her, she told me when I called you", I scoffed, as my anger was increasing. His eyebrows furrowed as he spoke.

"Yes, I was with her, we were both in a meeting discussing about our project with her dad", he stated. While I was still not satisfied.

"Don't give me excuses, I knew you are cheating on me.", I stated as my breathing quickened. I can't even imagine him cheating on me.

"What?!" He said in shock and for once I wanted to believe him, but Veronica's voice rings in my mind and I shook my head.

"I knew you are cheating on me with Veronica", I said as angry tears brimmed my eyes.

Vaughn's shocked expression turned to calm one as he spoke the next words.

"Who told you this?" He said in a firm tone.

"Whoelse, I heard it when she picked up your phone?", I said as my voice shake.

"Gosh Aveliene , I don't know what she told you but I didn't cheated on you. I can't even imagine cheating on you. Maybe she just answer my phone when I was busy in the meeting, it's just a misunderstanding. I would never cheat on you", he said each word sincerely. I looked into his eyes searching if he was lying but no, there was pure sincerity.

I sighed with relief but still, I was angry at Veronica. She deliberately tried to create misunderstanding between us.

Vaughn hugged me breaking me from my trance.

"I only love you, I haven't slept with anyone since we have married. " He whispered in my ears.

"I'm sorry, it's just Veronica, she is-- just forget it", I said as I don't want to think about her.

Vaughn pulled apart as I spoke again-"Why don't you cancel this project. I don't want her to be anywhere near you. I don't like her. She is just a bad news for us." I said as I know Veronica she would not stop until she gets Vaughn.

Vaughn sighed and spoke-"Love, I can't just cancel it, I have signed an agreement with her father. I can't back away now", he said and I frowned now also he is thinking about his business.

I pulled his hands away from my waist.

"No, I don't want her near you, and if you are not canceling it ,then I am not talking with you." I said sternly.

Vaughn ran his fingers through his hairs frustrated.

"Aveliene, it's a business deal, I can't just back away. Its not good for our reputation", he said.

I felt my anger rising again.

"You are just like my dad. Now also you are just thinking about your reputation. You don't care about my concern. You know what we are done", I said and turned my back towards him. While I heard him cursing under his breath. But I don't care. You forced me in this, Vaughn Rodriguez, now face it.
