"How long have I been out?" I ask him as I play with his hand.
"A week." He mumbles into my neck.
My eyes widen at his words.
"Really?" I say shocked.
He nods his head and pulls away.
"I'm really mad at you." I tell him seriously.
He sighs and leans his head on my chest.
"I know. I'll make it up to you." He says as he plays with a curl.
"You better," I say shaking my head not having the energy to be mad at him right now.
Landon and I were now resting on the small hospital bed, we stay quiet for a little while enjoying the presence of each other, until he breaks the silence.
"You took a bullet for me." He states as he looks up at me.
I smile down at him and kiss his forehead.
"And I'll do it again." I tell him.
His eyes darken and he squeezes my hand lightly.
"No, you won't." He says coldly.
I roll my eyes at him and smile to myself.
"Is it over now?" I ask him quietly.
He glances up at me and slides his hand through mine.
"Yes." He answers and takes our entwined hands to his lips.
"I won't leave you again." He tells me.
"Never?" I say looking down at him.
He looks up at me with promising eyes and takes his hand to my cheek, brushing his fingers over my skin gently.
"Never."

The next day the doctors did a check up on me, telling me I was okay to go back to my dorms now.
Though I had strict rules not to do anything too physical for a couple of weeks.
I also had some medication to take daily for the pain.

Landon had been taking care of me, not leaving my side once, though I didn't mind it at all.
Once we arrived back in my dorm everyone was asking how I was.
Eliot and Violet had been just as worried, apparently, they were visiting me nearly every day too.
Landon had gone out for a bit while I skimmed through the Netflix shows.
Violet and Eliot both had night classes so they were out.
I wasn't allowed to go to any classes until late next week, which meant I was going to be bored out of my mind for the next couple of days.
My phone started ringing just as I started playing a movie.
I groaned and reached for the phone and pressed it against my ear without looking at the Caller ID.
"Hello?"
"It's Landon." His deep voice rings through my ears.
"Hey." I say and smile through the phone.
"I'm taking you out in 20." He says as I hear the sound of keys jingling.
I glance at the clock on the wall and see it's only quarter to seven.
"Okay, I'll see you soon." I say and hang up.
I jump up from my seat and quickly go over to my room but wince as the pain in my stomach courses through me.
So much for not doing anything physical.
I grab out a casual dress and throw on some converse before grabbing my purse and heading towards the door.
Landon comes into view just as I open the front door.
His eyes casually rake down my body before trailing up to my eyes.
He looks at me emotionlessly and leans down to my cheek giving it a soft kiss.
I blush and my heart twitches at the small gesture.
I close the door behind me and take my hand in his as we walk towards his car.

He opens the door for me and I get in.
He strides to his side and does the same as he starts driving off.
"So where are we going ?" I ask him curiously.
He glances at me and turns back to the road not saying a word.
I roll my eyes and just lean back in my seat enjoying the ride.
Eventually, we make it to a broken-down building.
"You're not killing me are you?" I say jokingly.
He scoffs and rolls his eyes.
He then gets out of the car and goes to my side taking me by the hand as he helps me out.
I look around the place completely confused but he starts walking towards the back of the building to which I can't see.
I follow behind him as he turns a left corner and we then make it to the back of the building.
We walk through some bushes that were held high so I couldn't see what was behind them.
Eventually, we make it out and my eyes widen in surprise as I see a small deserted beach.
The ocean here was calm, the soft noise of the small waves crashing onto the sand brought me peace.
Only then did I notice the large blanket and basket sitting on the dry shoreline.
There were candles surrounding the scenery which made it look even better.
I watched as a figure moved away from it in the distance, only to recognise the figure as Andre.
He held two thumbs up at Landon and walked away.
Landon rolled his eyes at that and dragged me towards the picnic.
Once we made it, I looked around taking everything in.
I couldn't help but smile at this.
I looked up at Landon through my lashes to see he was already looking at me.
"I told you I'd make it up to you." He says smirking.
I shake my head at him and laugh.
I stand on my toes and place my lips on his jaw.
"Thank you, Landon." I tell him and lean my head on his chest.
He twirls a curl of mine through his finger as he looks down at me.
"Anything for you, Love" He whispers.
He lets go and I make my move to sit down on the blanket that was sprawled out.
I cross my legs underneath me and Landon sits down opposite me.
I take the basket placed next to me and look in to see chocolate and strawberries.
I raise my eyebrows at him and he shrugs.
"Andre." That is all he says as he takes a strawberry and plops it in his mouth.
I laugh and take the strawberries and chocolate out and place it between us.
We sit and watch the ocean for what felt like hours as we talked and ate.
I laid my head on his lap as I looked up at him and watched him closely.
I moved my gaze towards the shoreline and closed my eyes.
"Layla." He calls me.
I open my eyes and look up at him.
"Yeah?" I answer him.
"Be mine again?" He asks me as he brushes the hair away from my face.
My heart flutters and I smile widely.
"Of course." I answer him and place my arms around his neck.
He chuckles and wraps his arms around my waist bringing me closer to him.
I wrap my legs around his waist and bury my head in his neck.
"I love you." I mumble against his skin.
He sighs and kisses my temple.
"I love you." He whispers and holds me in his arms.
