I watch the guy that had the gun to my head fall to the ground, as blood starts oozing out of him.

I gasp in fright and quickly run to Landon.

He grabs me quickly and pushes me behind him wrapping a protective arm around me.

I try to keep my tears at bay but failed as they started streaming down silently.

I watch Landon pull out his gun, and point it at the person who shot the 'pizza' guy but he distinctly put it away once he saw the man.

There was a bulky guy in a suit that had a gun in his hand, whom I'm guessing shot the pizza guy.

He stood a few feet away from the door and nodded at Landon.

Landon did some hand singles to him, as the guy moved to pick up the body.

Landon turned around to me and checked over me making sure I was okay, his eyes went to my face and his cold expression turned soft slightly.

He wrapped his arms around me and lifted me and wrapped my legs around him.

I snuggled my face into his neck as his arms wrapped around me protectively.

The tears kept coming down silently, he rubbed my hip in soothing motions and placed gentle kisses in my hair.

"It's okay baby, you're safe now." He whispered into my ear.

"I'm so sorry, love." He continues.

I shake my head and mumble into his neck,

"It's not your fault, Landon."

I pull my face away from his neck and look at him.

His eyes bore into mine, as he brings his hand to my face and wipes the tears.

He brings his lips to my cheek and gently kisses it lingering there for a bit.

All of a sudden he stumbles back and curses under his breath.

I look at him confused, he puts me down and that's when I saw it.

The blood.

I look down at his leg to see the end of his jeans soaked in blood.

I look to Landon in shock.

"Landon..." I say trailing off.

"Is that you're-

I say but then get cut off by him stumbling back again.

"Oh, fuck!" I yell and run after him holding him up a bit.

I bring Landon to my couch being careful of his leg.

I sit him down as I lift the end of his jeans and see blood everywhere, I lift it more to his calf and gasp as there was a hole in his leg.

"Holy fucking shit Landon, he shot you! Oh my, go-

He cut me off by placing his hand on my shoulder and rubbing his thumb over it.

"Layla it's fine, my doctors coming now, I've had far worse than this, it's nothing." He says assuring me.

I look at him like he's crazy.

Nothing? what-

I grab a cloth and some hot water dabbing at the wound with shaky hands, I clean his leg with the cloth making sure no more blood was around.

On cue, the doctor barges into the living room and nods at Landon.

I move out of the way so he could work on his leg.

I sit next to Landon and shake my head at him disapprovingly.

His cold exterior now back on as he watches the man emotionlessly.

I take Landon's hand in mine and trace his tattoos hoping to distract him a bit.

He turns his attention to me and takes my hand to his lips kissing it.

"Who was that guy?" I ask him.

His eyes search my face before he replies.

"Enemy." He says now looking me in the eyes.

I furrow my eyebrows at him and he just shakes his head at me as if telling me not to worry.

Landon doesn't wince once as the doctor works on his leg taking the bullet out and placing stitches in.

Once the doctor was done he gave Landon pain killers, though I'm not sure he needs them.

Landon takes them either way, swallowing them dry.

"Do you need to stay here tonight?" I ask him since I'm sure he can't drive with his leg.

"I can if you want me to." He says glancing at me.

I just nod in return.

"Do you need anything?" I asked him standing up.

He shakes his head and leans back on the couch looks up at me.

His hair falling onto his mesmerising hooded eyes.

Finest man alive that's for sure.

I turn walking to the kitchen grabbing some water as I heard the doorbell ring.

I stop in my tracks as I feel my heartbeat rise.

I peer into the living room seeing no Landon, and I run towards the front door.

I see Landon standing there handing money to the actual pizza guy.

I sigh in relief and take the boxes from him.

Landon shuts the door once the guy leaves, he walks back to the living room easily as if he didn't just get shot in his leg.

"Should you even be walking on your leg?" I say eyeing him warily.

He just shrugs and leans back on the couch tilting his head and pressing his forearm over his eyes.

I just sigh and sit next to him putting 'Friends' on the tv, and pull open the pizza box.

I nudge Landon with my arm and he removes his arm from his eyes, looking down at me.

I put the cheese pizza to his mouth, and he gladly takes a bite of it.

I take the second bite of the pizza turning my attention to the tv, and this continues until the pizza box is empty.

It was now around midnight and I was on the verge of falling asleep.

Landon's head was lying on my lap while I played with his hair.

His thumb was running over my palm, while our hands rested on his toned stomach.

I laid my head back on the couch and turned it slightly so I could still see Landon.

I watched as his eyes were closed, his black hair falling over his eyes and onto his cheekbones slightly, his face was relaxed and unnerved.

His always tense body was calm and collected, his other hand was playing with one of my curls that was falling onto his shoulder.

I closed my eyes as a small smile came to my lips, feeling utterly happy at this moment.

I let my thoughts wander off as I let myself fall into a deep slumber.

*

We walk through the empty streets in comfortable silence.

His hand in mine as we make our way to the park.

We sit down on the bench and I lay down resting my head on his lap.

He twirls my hair in between his fingers as he looks down at me.

I smile softly up at him.

"Have you ever thought what it would be like if life was different? Like an alternative universe perhaps." I say looking up at him.

He looks down at me with a small smile gracing his lips amused by my question.

Just before he could reply a loud gunshot rings through my ears.

I bolt up out of my seat as I turn to Landon, and see blood seeping out of his chest.

I stand there paralysed but break out of it once I hear another gunshot.

I scream and grab Landon's arm pulling him up as his eyes are starting to close.

"Landon, oh my god, Landon," I said panicking.

"Landon please, please don't leave me," I say crying as his eyes close.

I sob and sob as I watch his body become lifeless.

His eyes open slightly looking at me and taking my hand.

"Layla" His voice whispers raspy.

I continue to cry looking down at him through blurry eyes.

I bolt up from my position panting heavily as my eyes search around my room.

I look around my room warily as I see Landon next to me looking at me with slight concern.

His hand was placed on my shoulder rubbing it soothingly.

I jump on him hugging him tightly.

I hug him so tightly I seriously think he was going to have some cracked bones after this.

His body stills in shock but nevertheless wraps his arms around me.

He moves his arms to the sides of my face lifting them to face him.

He looks down at me with a blank face but his eyes held worry.

"What's wrong?" His deep voice rings through my ears.

I shake my head at him.

"Don't worry, bad dream." Was all I said as I felt sleep overcoming me again.

"Just hold me," I say mumbling into his chest.

He rubs his hand soothingly along my hip and starts placing kisses on my hair.

It wasn't long after that, I ended back in my slumber.

*

I woke up this morning with a bed-less Landon.

There was literally no sign of him being in my bed or with me at all last night.

The blood and everything was gone as if nothing happened.

It was now Lunch and I was sitting at my lunch table with Eliot and Violet.

"I forgot to mention to you guys, I'm starting my dancing again. I've got my first lesson today after school." I tell my friends while taking a bite of Eliot's mum's famous cupcakes.

They were literally the best of the best.

"Oh my god!, yes Lay. I'm so glad, you are so talented you can't throw it away." Violet says, beaming with happiness.

Eliot nods his head frantically in agreement.

"Yep she's right you've got true talent," Eliot says taking a sip of my milkshake.

"Thanks, guys." I say blushing at their comments.

"Y'all wanna go to the cafe this Sunday, I'm not doing anything," Eliot asks us.

"Yeah, I'm free, Vi?" I ask

"Yup sounds good girlies." Violet says.

Eliot scrunches his nose up at the name and I just laugh.

The bell rings and I make my way to class.

I was about to enter but something caught my eye.

There was a crowd of people forming outside the doors that lead to the grass area.

I walk over to the doors peaking through the glass windows as I get a good view of two people fighting.

My eyes go wide when I see Landon on top of another guy, beating the absolute shit out of him.

Landon's shirt was off, revealing his toned body as the sunlight hit his back.

His hair tripling down his forehead as his eyes held no mercy and no emotion, just pure rage.

His whole body tense and his emotionless face now faced with a death glare.

He continues to throw punches at the boy's now bloodied face.

Andre comes into view as he tries lifting Landon off of the guy.

Landon's eyes snap to Andre and flinch himself off of Andres grip and storms away towards his car.

He gets in and speeds out of the gates in no time.

What the fuck.
