"Turn around slowly." The intruder said with a voice laced with significant command.

"Plea-Please don't hurt me," I stuttered, blood running cold.

My breath hitched when a hand gripped my shoulder. The dire state had no chance to recede when I was jerked around for a face to face encounter. Fear demanded all of me, yet I had a moment of anticipation of whom I reckoned to see.

"Alfie," I gushed.

However, after I set my eyes on the person who just forced authority upon me, I was struck with bewilderment.

A male, similar to the ones I only had the chance to see on a poster five years ago now stood before me. His eyes were prominently alluring, his jawline was square and define. As I stood at a 5'7, my head barely level his shoulder, he was tall.

A slight glow shimmered in his unlit eyes and it earned him my stupefaction. What I didn't expect next was the sight of his lips quirking upward. The knife in his hand fell to the ground with a silent thud as it hit the floor. The sound howled me back to reality in a haphazard manner.

"Yes it's me, Alfie," he uttered.

The next thing I knew, I was pulled into a firm embrace. Although still confused on what was happening, my body protested against my brain's command to pull away.

"I thought you were... You--" Again I was caught in a staggering state, but this time it was by the overwhelming question.

The sound of the metal spoon clanking softly against the glass bowl was what drew my eyes back to whom just declared himself being my Alfie. Believe me, I tried very hard not to gawk at him, but it was an impossible mission even to start with.

After he removed his sweat-soaked hoodie sweater, I was dumbfounded even more. He was almost twice the size of my skinny Alfie. Muscles coated his limbs, and there was a strange bulge protruding at the front of his throat, which slightly moved every time he spoke.

When he caught me looking at him, he smirked, and it strangely made my cheeks heat up. I got confused and instantly shifted my eyes elsewhere.

"This is delicious!" He exclaimed.

When I turned my head to him, he had the spoon still in his mouth paired with a silly grin. I couldn't contain my amusement at the sight and deliberately a smile forced its way to my lips. I just nodded then averted my gaze once more.

Truthfully, I was trying to find the right word to ask him about the issue that had been aired on the news. But until this very moment, any idea I had in mind was hopelessly swept away when my eyes set upon his face.

What is wrong with me?

One way or another, I had to solve the massive puzzle in my head. When the clanking sound stopped, I took the chance to start firing question. "Are you still hungry?"

Even though I wasn't facing him, I could see him shaking his head before he voiced out, "No, I'm full."

I reached for his empty bowl and got off my seat, the opposite of him on the dining table. Somehow I was in a hurry to get out of the proximity. But once I stood at the sink, I felt a strange longing.

While I did the dishes, I glanced at the knife lying on the counter; the same one which had touched my nape awhile ago. Then again, it reminded me of the terrible news Peyrel had shared. A whirlpool of emotions was trying to sink me.

"So, how did you find me?" I started.

He sighed, "It's complicated."

Aside from the unsimilarity of their features, the advance vocabulary was adding my doubt of his identity. But what I couldn't understand was this tingling in my heart, the feeling was familiar yet it was odd.

"Where were you the past 5 years. What happened to you?"

The sound of rustling coming from behind was a sign of his movement. I was anxiously waiting for his answer, yet after what felt like forever he still didn't speak.

"Tell me," I urged.

"It's... Complex," he mumbled.

Disappointment arose once more when he simply repeated the same answer for my previous question. Along with it was suspicions and an increased pace of my beating heart from what I recognised was because of fear.

My eyes trailed over the pans hung on the wall and saw a reflection of him walking towards me. Drove by distress, I snatched the knife before turning.

Unfortunately, he was stealth, he caught my wrist and the knife fell to the floor before he kicked it to the side. I was helplessly trapped between him and the sink, both my hands were locked in his.

"Who are you? Now tell me!" I yelled. Anger and sadness were charging, telling me not to care of the consequences. I simply had nothing to lose.

Surprisingly, he was calm, unlike my outburst and distaste. His face held what looked like solace. At no distance between us, I could hear his unmatched heartbeat.

When his eyes strayed to my bare legs, thin lines appeared on his forehead. My body froze the moment his head bent down and his cheeks grazed over the side of my face. I could feel his breath fanning on my ears and it sent shivers down my spine.

"I finally know why Ma told you not to remove your clothes in front of me," he whispered.

My eyes widened in shock at the unexpected proof. There was no denying that he was my Alfie. However, the situation didn't seem right for me to celebrate.

To be continued...
