《Kisses For A Devil》Wild heart and sweaty palms

It was fifth time when I checked my wrist watch in past two minutes and Jane still hadn't arrived office. It was a big issue considering the fact that she had never been late for work before. She was a woman with great ambition and works hard. She was serious towards her job.

I was getting worried for her because she wasn't attending my calls. What if something happened to her?

Oh god, What if her big mouth had gotten her into trouble?

I picked up the box of cupcakes that I'd brought for her as apology and about to headed towards her office when my office door opened and Jane walked in.

The moment she entered I was damn sure my palms got sweaty and heart became wild, insanely out of control seeing her walking in a beautiful flower print dress and 'fuck me' high heels.

Holy Christ! Save me from these 'wrap me around your waist' legs.

Oh god, how much I wanted to see what she's been hiding between these sexy legs of her.

"I'm so sorry for being late. I promise it'll never happen again." She said sweetly after taking a deep breath. How much I wanted to breathe the same air as her.

"I-It's all right." I assured her maintaing the professional tone even if my wild heart and the thing under pants wasn't civilised anymore. I just wished she wouldn't notice it. "Where were you anyway?"

"Mom wanted me to come church with her before she went back Savannah." She answered, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear. Suddenly, her eyes flicked between me and the box in my hand.

"It's for you." I extended my arm towards her and she grabbed the box.

"For me?" She asked with a glint of amazement in her eyes. And I gave a nod in agreement. The second she opened the box her eyes lit up and a broad smile spread on her face that reached up to her eyes.

I swear I skipped a beat right now.

"Thank you." She exclaimed, devouring every inch of cupcake with her mouth.

Lucky cupcake

"It's nothing. I owe you an apology anyway." I shrugged, "Speaking of which—I couldn't bring you vodka. It would be sort of trouble if any employee gets a hint that their boss has brought a bottle of vodka for his assistant during working hour."

"Mmhhhmm you're right." She said with mouthful of cupcake turning her sexy appearance into a cute one.

I didn't realise when my legs moved and closed the distance between us. But she didn't seem to realise that as she was busy with cupcake. She had no idea how cute she looked with a flake of bread on a corner of her mouth. "But it doesn't mean I forgive you. First thing first—you'll buy me the liquor after work and then I'll think about—"

"What are you doing?" She whispered as I licked the flakes of bread off the corner of her mouth.

"You've flakes over there." I told her only to realise that her brows knitted together and she frowned, "What's wrong with your fingers?"

Hearing a dirty sentence from her at the perfect time, a smirk automatically played on my lips, "They are for different purpose, darling."

A sudden change in colour on her face didn't escape from my sight as she blushed and gasped.

"You're unbelievable." She puffed registering what I'd meant.

"Come to my place tonight."

I pleaded, but this time there wasn't any hint of double meaning in my tone. After enjoying the day on beach with her I really wanted to spend some more time with her. I hoped she got what I'd meant.

"W-What for?" She asked nervously, again assessing me as a certified manhore. It wasn't her fault though always think of me as a manhore. I was the one who made this image of me in front of the world to hide a miserable boy who had no one in his life.

I was about to tell her that I just wanted a company today since today was the day when my parents died. Besides, It would be good opportunity to know her. However, it seemed like fate wasn't with me as my phone rang and I had to come up with a lie that I was joking with which she immediately approved and then I dismissed her.

Once she walked away I picked up the call, "Hey man, I almost began assuming that you're dead."

"Shut up, Vincenzo." My best buddy Alaric McCoy, CEO of McCoy industries voiced. "I-I want to talk to you." The moment he stuttered I knew something was wrong, very very wrong. The Alaric McCoy, an idol for every single guy in our country—except for me,

Who was an epitome of a perfect businessman to a perfect son......stuttered.

"Is everything okay?" I asked concerned.

"Nothing is okay." He replied, "I want to meet you....as a friend like we used to do."

"O...Kay." Something is really bothering him. "Tonight then....at my place."

"Fine." With that he hung up the call.

*******

When I got home I showered and slipped into a comfortable attire black trouser and a grey shirt. I picked up Alaric's favourite wine and settled it on the counter with ice and two glasses. Memories flew back of the days when we used to hangout together and having uncountable drinks until we passed out on the counter.

"Leo, Mr. McCoy is here. Do you want me to let him in?" Iris voiced.

"Yes, Iris."

After a moment, Alaric entered, and made his way towards me. His dirty blonde hair that had been managed to look perfect every time wasn't perfect anymore as they were falling over his head and covering half of his dark brown eyes.

"What happened?" I asked worriedly taking a hold of his appearance once he seated himself next to me.

He was quiet as he poured himself some wine before gulping the whole content in one go and pouring next one, "She's quitting." He finally said and sounded as if he was confused.

"Who?" I asked, pouring some wine into my glass.

"Josephine." I saw his jaw clenched as he had his second glass and the next one was in the queue.

I remembered who Josephine was. His secretary —a cute and perfect one. Apparently, She was sincere and ardent towards her job. Perfect for Alaric's perfect ass. Then what made her quitting all of a sudden.

"Do you have any idea why she's quitting her job?"

"She hasn't given me any appropriate reason yet besides—." He let out an humourless chuckle. "What an irony—She works for me for almost five years, emerges out as a perfect employee and then she gives me a lame excuse that She doesn't want to spend her whole life as single and grow old with chopping my toast accurately into 3cm pieces."

"O..kay." I hadn't have anything to say but tell him to let her go because it was her own decision. "She's probably gotten tired with your perfect ass."

"She should be grateful for my hospitality that I turned her into a fine and incomparable woman." He said proudly.

"I think this time you pushed her too hard man, that's why she's quitting." I reasoned out. "She's a human too, wants to live her life and have kids with a guy. You can't stop her from quitting."

"Are you sure?" He asked raising a brow.

"About What?"

A smirk found its way on his lips, "That I can't stop her from quitting."

Hmm..seems like Alaric McCoy just stepped in a game.

"Well, this is gonna be interesting as hell."
