《A Sterling Silver Love》sandy beaches

at night, the Maldives air was still warm against Aida's skin. Her sky blue nightgown flowed peacefully in the wind as she stared at the rolling tide.
"Sweetheart," Draco walked up to her slowly, the pearly white sand crunching underneath his feet. "What are you doing awake?"
Aida remained quiet, her hues trained on the crystal blue water.
"Celeste," Draco tried again, fear racing through his veins. When she turned to him, Draco felt a part of his shatter. "Why are you crying, Sweetheart?"
But the Queen said nothing, instead she allowed herself to be pulled into the chest of her mate and sob.
His hands roamed her back, hoping to provide her with some comfort. "It's okay," he murmured. "Whatever it is, everything is going to be okay." Squatting down a little, Draco wrapped an arm behind her knees and picked her up swiftly. Her head bobbed against his chest as he walked them inside and towards their newly purchased getaway home. Settling on the bed, he tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and looked at her once more. The tears had stopped falling, but she let out the occasional hiccup. "Do you want to share with me, what's going on?"
Aida shrugged and her eyes flickered away from him, "it's nothing."
Grunting gruffly Draco forced her to look at him. "I should have phrased that differently—why were you crying?"
"I miss Doni," she muttered looking down at the hands that rested on her pregnant belly. "I know this is supposed to be our honeymoon, but I just miss him so much."
Draco nodded, "I understand. We only have four more days and then we'll be seeing him. Okay?" Draco kissed her forehead. "We should talk to him tomorrow too, since we didn't get a chance to do it today."
Kissing his jaw, Aida sighed and snuggled deeper into him. "Thank you."
The King nodded, "get some sleep, Sweetheart." When he was sure she was awake, Draco slipped out of bed and grabbed his phone off the nightstand. "Ma? Hi, it's me."
"Draco. It's late where you are, is everything alright?"
"Yeah, Ma, everything's fine." He let out a sigh and ran hand through his hair. "Listen this is probably a lot to ask, but I was wondering if you could bring Doni here."
"It's your honeymoon," Selene pointed out.
"I know Ma, I know." Draco sank down into the sand. "She won't admit how much she is struggling without Doni, but she is. I think she feels like she's a bad mom for adopting him and then right when he was getting comfortable."

"Well, that's kind of expected Draco. She's a new mom, it's normal—but I'll bring him in a few hours okay?"
Tossing his head, Draco let his curly hair kiss the sand. "Thanks Ma, I owe you one."
"Yeah, yeah," Selene muttered. "Go to bed, I'll mind-link you when we arrive."
Hanging up the phone, Draco slowly pushed his body to a stand and trudged back into the house. Stripping down, he slid into the bed and froze when Aida stirred. She let out a moan, something that happened at least once throughout the night and Draco chuckled. Pressing a kiss to her temple, Draco slipped an arm under her protruding belly and snuggled his face into her neck.
He wasn't asleep for long, four hours maximum, when his mother's voice rang through his head. Groaning, he pushed the covers back and stepped out of bed.
"Draco?"
His head snapped down as he watched Aida roll onto her back and rub her eyes. "Hey," he murmured, sitting on the bed and placing a hand on her thigh. "Go back to sleep, it's still early."
Aida groaned and sat up slowly. "What are you doing up?"
He smiled, "I need to run to the store and then I'm going to come back make you breakfast."
Aida hummed. "Can you hand me the remote?"
Placing the remote in her hands, he kissed her forehead. "I'll be back in a few minutes, Sweetheart."
Gripping his bicep, she sighed. "I love you."
"I love you too."
"Hi buddy," Draco grinned at his son who was clapping happily in his grandmother's arms. "Thanks for bringing him, Ma." Kissing his mother on the cheek, Draco and Adonis waved goodbye and then walked into the store. Sliding his son into the top of the cart, Draco walked through the front doors of the market. "I'm making pancakes today, buddy, do you want something special in them?"
"Pancakes?" Doni looked up at his father, big brown eyes full of wonder.
Draco nodded and ruffled his son's hair. "Yes, buddy, pancakes."
"Blueberry!" Adonis squealed.
Racing through the aisles, Draco made it out of the store and back to the house in record time. "Alright, Doni," he whispered, bending down to his son's level. "You have to be quiet if you want to surprise Mama, with me—understand?"
Adonis jerked his head up and down.

Picking up a tray with mounds of pancakes on it, Draco walked slowly to the bedroom, occasionally glancing back to make sure his son hadn't gotten lost. Placing a finger to his lips, Draco knocked on the closed door. "Sweetheart? Sweetheart, may I come in?" A muffled response floated through his ears and Draco pushed the door open. "Hi," Draco placed the tray at her feet.
"You brought me pancakes?" She looked up at him with wide eyes full of love.
"Not just pancakes," he grinned and stepped aside to let Doni into view.
"Mama!" Adonis tackled his mother's side in a tight hug. Pulling away, Doni looked down at her stomach. "Why are you fat?"
Draco stifled a laugh behind his hand. Despite the fact that he had one son and two more were on the way, he seemed to have forgotten how blunt children were. "Doni," he said when he regained composure. "Mommy isn't fat, she's pregnant."
"Pregnant?" The young prince furrowed his eyebrows. "What's pregnant?"
"Well," Draco stepped forward and slid onto the bed, pulling Doni onto his lap. "Mommy and Daddy went to a factory."
"A factory?"
Draco rubbed his stubble and nodded. "They gave Mommy this special juice that tastes like...cherries, yeah it tasted like cherries! And in a few months, Mommy is going to not be pregnant anymore and you'll have two baby brothers."
Adonis nodded. "Pancakes?"
Aida laughed, "a man after my own heart."
"I can't believe we're leaving this place tomorrow," Aida sighed as she leaned back into Draco's chest. They were sitting on the beach, watching the waves crash as Adonis made sandcastles beside them, occasionally running to get wet sand. "I love it here."
"Really?" Draco tightened his hold on her, his silver hues flickering to her profile.
Aida nodded. "It's peaceful. All my life, I've lived surrounded by other people; mafias and now packs. I think the peace and quiet out here."
Draco hummed. "Yeah, me too." They fell back into a comfortable silence before Draco spoke up again. "It's a good thing I bought the house then."
Aida turned to him shocked, her eyebrows almost disappearing into her hairline. "You what?"
"I bought the house as a wedding present for you—us. We can do short term rentals during the months we aren't here, that way it's never sitting empty for too long and people try to breakin."
"Is that why you didn't want to merge our bank accounts right away? You wanted it to be a surprise?"
Draco nodded sheepishly and rubbed the back of his neck. "We can set up an appointment to go to the bank when we get back home, yeah?"
"I think we should set up a trust fund too, for our kids."
"We never did talk about how many kids we wanted." They both turned their attention to the sound of Adonis coughing. "You okay little man?"
Adonis looked up and nodded. "I swallowed sand."
"Come drink some water, baby." Aida watched as he waddled over to his mother, his floaties not allowing his arms to touch his sides. "Two hands," Aida warned him. "There you go." Kissing him on the cheek, Aida watched as he ran back to his sand castle. "I know we're technically immortal but Gods can kill other Gods, and if there's a war between our kind I want our kids to be okay financially."
"Alright," he kissed her temple, with the hope to reassure her. "We'll do it." Pulling her back into his arms, Draco made patterns on her stomach. "How many kids do you want, Sweetheart?"
"Five or six," she murmured. "I like that Doni will be four years older than Percy and Cai. It comforts me a bit, knowing that they would be in good hands when they're older and we go out of town."
"How long do you want to wait? After giving birth to the twins, before trying for more."
"Six months? That way they'd be close in age but without overlapping birthdays." When the sun started to go, Aida called Doni inside and they walked inside hand-in-hand. "I love you," Aida whispered into the dark room she and her mate were occupying.
"I love you too, Sweetheart." Rubbing her back in circles, Draco's eyes didn't shut until he knew she had fallen asleep.
