(Bella's POV)

I laid there watching as the sun was barely peeking through the trees.

I couldn't sleep at all last night. Not because I know today is Eva's funeral but because I was scared.

Scared that if I close my eyes that all of this was going to go away.

That in some sick way the moon goddess was playing a sadistic joke and was going to take me away the minute I thought I was going to be okay.

So I stayed awake. I stayed awake and counted all of the 678 little glow in the dark stars that laid on my ceiling.

There was 678 stars, so I counted them 678 times.

I wanted to see how many times I could count them before the sun came up.

I barely made it to my goal.

But it's not like I'm tired or exhausted. Staying up through the night was a normal thing for me.

The longest time I have ever been awake was for 6 days straight. The average person can only go 72 hours before they start to lose it.

I was seeing a field of flowers, and a beach by day 5. On day 6 I saw myself being killed in here.

Knock knock knock.

I slowly sat up in my bed and stared at the door. I didn't say anything or try to move at all.

I didn't want whoever was on the other side of the door to know I was in here.

I tried to listen for breathing or even a smell but I couldn't smell or hear anything.

"Ms. Arabella? It's me Elizabeth."

Elizabeth.

I can't remember where I heard that name from but it sounded so familiar.

"I can hear you breathing child, open this door." You could hear the smile on her voice and for some reason I trusted her.

I got up from the bed and walked towards the door. But I stopped when my hand touched the door knob.

I waited and waited and waited for something to happen.

Like my mind was telling my body to turn the knob but it's like my body didn't know how to.

Finally I turned my wrist and the door opened a little.

I peeked through the crack and saw a nice, old looking lady with brown eyes and brown hair.

"Well.... Don't just stand there. Open the door child." I stared at her for a second and closed the door.

I took two steps back, slowed down my drumming heart, and opened the door again.

This time I just opened it and walked towards my bed keeping my back to her.

I heard her walk in with a bag that I think had a dress in it, and a box that was wrapped like a present.

"I know you probably don't remember me but I used to take care of you and Braxton when you both were little babies."

I didn't say anything as I listened to her continue.

"Your father hasn't said much about what has happened to you but I could only imagine what you had went through. We all missed you Bella."

I turned my head over my shoulder but I still wasn't looking at her.

"Why is Braxton so mean? What happened to him?" I asked.

I know I should be worried about other things but I wanted to know why my brother was so cold-hearted.

"You happened. When you were taken he lost everything. He had to bury your mother the day after and then it was like a switch went off in his body. He was happy, smiling, laughing, and being a kid one day. Then the next... he was an Alpha"

Was it really that bad for him?

"He was serious, responsible, dedicated to the tittle that all he did was train, work with your father, came home and eat then went to bed. He has been like this for such a long time that now the pack has a bad reputation. I suppose its good sometimes, we haven't had a rogue problem in quiet awhile up until now. But those are usually dealt with."

Those. God, its like they aren't even people anymore.

"Oh." Was all I said.

She cleared her throat and laid the bag next to me on the bed.

"Any who, your brother has sent this up for you, asked if you would join him today at the funeral for that poor girl." She said.

"Poor girl?" Was that all Eva was just a poor girl? She saved me and shes Braxton's mate. Well, was his mate. But yet she had no respect for her former Luna.

"Yes. The Alpha mentioned he was only attending because she was the daughter of your fathers former friend. Why?"

Just a friend? Then it hit me. He didn't tell anyone that he found his mate.

I wanted to scream at her. I was so angry. How could he be so careless? I've barely met Jackson and even though he is engaged to another I would be crushed if I found out he was dead.

"Well, she was my friend and she was a wonderful person who helped me escape that horrible place. So no, she isn't just 'that poor girl' she was a good hearted, strong person who sacrificed her life for me. Just like any Luna would." I said as I grabbed my dress from the bed and headed towards the restroom.

"Oh, I'm so sorry Arabella I had no idea."

I didn't even want to talk to her anymore. I know its not her fault that she didn't know the whole story but I just don't know what came over me.

"Just, you're excused. Thank you for bringing my dress." I closed the door and waited till she left. Not soon after she was gone and I decided to take a shower.

I turned on the shower and waited till the water got hotter. Its probably not normal but I love when the water is boiling hot. It feels so great against my skin.

It finally got hot and I jumped in. I washed my body down with soap and washed my hair. I think I want to cut it or dye it. Maybe not today but another day.

All I knew that it was time for some changes because I didn't like my hair right now.

I scrubbed until my skin was red, and washed my hair until I felt satisfied enough that it was cleaned enough.

I jumped out and dried myself off.

I wrapped myself in the towel and peeked opened the door to see if anyone was in my room. I really didn't want anyone to see me right now.

When I saw that my bedroom was empty I walked out and realized that I didn't have any clean underwear or Bra.

I didn't know what to do. I didn't want to call my dad or my brother that would be kind of awkward.

But then I remembered who I could call.

"Josh?" It felt weird to mind link again but it also felt kind of good to be able to.

He sounded panic and I felt kind of bad to worry him like this.

"Nothing. I just really need your help." I tried to say it calmly but it still came out shaky.

Not even a minute later there was a knock on my door.

I walked over to it and opened the door a little just to reveal a hard breathing Josh at my door, it looked like he was running for his life.

He put his hand on the door and pushed it opened. I squealed because I was only in a towel and he just basically pushed me out of the way.

"What happened?" He looked around the room and all I did was grab the towel that was wrapped around my waist tighter.

"JOSH! I'm naked!" I basically screamed embarrassed that he would just barge in like that.

"Huh?" He turned and covered his eyes with both his hands.

"God Bella a little warning next time would be great!" He screamed equally as loud.

I laughed just looking at how he was reacting.

"Dude this is so not funny put some clothes on" He said kinda annoyed but yet you could hear the laugh that he was holding in.

"That's my problem.... I don't have any uhhh underwear or bra.... to uhh wear." Still kind of embarrassed that I asked the other person that I saw as my brother for help.

"Seriously?! I thought you were in trouble." He said annoyed.

"I am! This is me being in trouble Josh! come on help me out here." I said basically begging for him to go get me something.

" Hold on." He didn't move or so anything. I waited then I heard a knock on the door. I went to answer it and it was a little girl with a bag in her hand.

"Here you go, my mommy said this is for you." She smiled at me, and I took the bag from her hands.

"Thank you...."

"Elly." She said with a smile on her face.

I smiled back at her and thank'd her again. I close the door and looked in the bag.

It was a black lace bra with matching underwear. I held them up and looked at the very..... small material that was suppose to be underwear.

"Elly's mom owns her own fashion line here at the pack house. It's a little...... revealing her style, but it'll do for now until we get you more clothes that actually fit you."

I put them on the bed while I still held my towel.

"You can look Josh you've seen me in a bikini before." I said as I rolled my eyes. With Josh I felt like I could actually be myself. I was just comfortable with him.

"Yea but you were like 4 and stuff. Now, you're actually a girl." He laughed and I threw my pillow at him and hit him right in the gut.

He doubled over and laughed but he finally looked at me.

"Man, you're abusive now huh?" he joked

I laughed and looked out the window that was near my bed.

" You know coming home I thought I would be more happy but its like I'm scared to talk to anyone especially Braxton." I said as I looked at him.

The smile fell from his face but he came and sat next to me.

"Yea its going to take him time you know? He's really not that bad if you really get to know him."

"Yea but his mate just died and he's acting like it was just my dad's friends daughter."

"You haven't really been around to know that, that's how he deals with things. When it gets tough he shuts everyone out and he'll act like he doesn't care but he does. He just doesn't know how to handle it that's all"

I sighed and was scanning the field until I said this little medal shed that stood kind of close to the woods.

"Whats that?" I asked as I pointed towards the shed.

"Its just a little shed that has stairs in it that leads into the ground. Its where we keep the rogues that we find purpose to hold on here"

"Hmmm am I allowed down there?"

Josh got up from the bed and shook his head.

"I don't know but I'm pretty sure the answer is no. Braxton wouldn't want you down there and honestly neither do I. Its not safe to go down there by yourself."

"Then come with me." I said as I got up and grabbed the underwear and bra from the bed.

"Why? Theres nothing right there that concerns you Bella just stay away from that thing. Okay?"

I felt like a child being told not to eat a cooking because it was going to spoil my dinner but I knew I had to do this.

"Okay, fine. I just wanted to explore but if you really don't want me to then I won't."

I shrugged my shoulders so It would look like I really didn't care about going and Josh bought it.

"Alright. Hurry and get ready we leave in an hour for the funeral."

I told him okay and he left. I put on my underwear and bra and looked in the mirror.

"You're still going to do it aren't you?" izzy said and by the way she said it I knew she was on board with what I was about to do.

"Yup."

"Are you ready for the punishment?"

"Nope."

"Any regrets after its done?"

"Nope."

"Okay, lets do this then."

She sounded more excited than I did but I was happy that I get to do this.

I threw the towel on the floor, and looked through my closet.

I borrowed a lot of my moms clothes so I know I have something I could wear for now until I get back here to change.

I found a black long sleeved shirt and black shorts.

I threw it on and it was a bit big for me but I guess it will have to do for now.

I found some regular sandals and put those on.

Now, time to sneak out.

"Take the window." Izzy said.

Genius.

I pushed opened the window and looked down, wow this a really long fall. But there was a tree next to my window so all I had to do was jump in a branch and slide all the way down.

Not too hard... right?

I took a couple of steps back and jumped through the window and onto the tree.

My left leg slipped and I almost fell off but I wrapped my hands around the branch above and held on and stopped myself from falling.

I took a breath of relief and started to climb down.

I was on the last branch and just jumped onto the ground. No one really noticed and I was thankful for that.

I walked over to the shed avoiding anyone and everyone, but I noticed guards were outside by the front door.

"Dammit." I walked around the backside and found a small window that I could climb through if I was being very quiet so I did exactly that.

I pushed opened the window and pulled myself up so that I was inside. I slipped and landed on my butt on the inside and I was scared I was caught but the guys didn't even hear me.

I quickly got up head down the dark staircase. It was quiet and I knew there were no guards here to catch me so I was okay for now.

I finally made it to the bottom and the cellar was scarier than the one I was in.

I didn't hear anything or anyone but I could hear about five or six heart beats.

"Hello?" no one answered.

"I came to find a women. I don't know your name and I don't know what you look like. But I'm here to help you." Again no one said anything.

So I decided just to walk down hall myself and find her.

I passed by one cell and it had an old man in it. He looked like he was on the verge of death but he had yellow eyes.

And I already know what that means. He's lost his humanity. Once you become a rogue the longer you are far away from a pack the more your wolf side will take over until they are fully in charge.

He growled at me but didn't move.

Next was a lady. I knew it wasn't Jackson's cousins mate because she was too old for him but she wasn't a senior citizen either.

She looked at me up and down and rolled her eyes.

"What are you looking at bitch?" She snapped at me.

I felt sorry for her at first but now not so much.

I kept walking until I came to a corner and I didn't know where to turn. Left or right.

So I went with my reliable source and did Eenie meenie miny moe and chose to left.

At first I thought I came the right way because I didn't see anyone but I heard a faint heartbeat and slow breathing.

I came across a cage and inside was a blonde headed girl who was dirty but looked healthy other than that.

I looked around and saw that there was no key in sight, crap.

"U-under the rock." I turned my head back towards the girl who still laid there on the floor.

"P-please... Y-you have to help me." She sounded so weak and so tired.

"Whats your name?" She didn't answer but closed her eyes.

"Look I know you must be tired and scared and afraid but If you are the person I'm looking for then I'm here to help you."

"You could get yourself k-killed."

She said as she opened her eyes to look at me.

"Yea well, It wouldn't be the worst thing right now. I'm going to ask a question and I need you to answer it the best you can okay?"

She nodded her head and I nodded mines.

"Okay. Do you have a mate and if so, what does he look like?"

She smiled and began.

"He's the most sexiest person you could ever meet. He has this voice that will melt your heart every time you heard him speak. He has the kindest eyes, and the brightest smile." She smiled like if she was looking at him right now.

"Is he a high rank?" She nodded her head.

"Alpha?" I asked just to see if she said yes then I would know she was lying to me.

"No. He's a beta. His cousin is the Alpha. Alpha Jackson. I think that was his name." She said as she sat up.

Found her.

I ran towards the rock and lifted it. There was the key.

"I found you. I promised your mate that I would let you out when I had the chance and I keep my promises. But you have to hurry, we need to get out of here before we get caught."

And just like that it was like a burst of energy had just entered her body she jumped up and when I got the cell opened she hugged me.

"Thank you... Thank you so much." I hugged her back but pulled away when I thought I heard something.

"Come on. We don't have much time. We need to get going before they come." She nodded her head and we ran towards the window.

"Ill go first and then you okay? Ill lead you off the perimeter and when you cross the line you'll be free. okay?"

She looked confused but nodded her head anyways.

" Wait you aren't coming with me?"

She sounded scared but I knew she was just worried about me being here.

"No, this is my pack and my brother is kind of the Alpha." she took a step back like if she couldn't trust me anymore.

"Look, you don't have to be scared." I looked around and no one was here.

"Then why are you helping me?"

she sound hurt like if I just betrayed her and I was just playing some kind of sick joke on her.

"Because I promised your mate. Look, Jackson is my mate and I told both of them I would help him get you back. And that's what I'm doing, But I can't if you don't let me help you. So either you return back to that cell or you come with me right now so that you could go back to your mate like you want to."

She nodded her head and I smiled.

I hopped out first and she followed. No one was around so we ran.

We ran into the woods and kept running. I forgot that the land was kind of big but then we heard it, we heard the bell.

"They know! Come on we are almost there!" I screamed as we ran and hopped over rocks, adn tree stumps.

We heard growling and I knew they were getting closer.

"Shift!!!" I screamed and then we did.

To my right were about three wolves growling and barking at us.

On my left was another three wolves just trying to catch up.
