《The Alphas Secret Wolf》Chapter 50

(Nate's POV)

"I love you" She whispered towards Braxton and then poof she was gone.

He was running towards her and dove into the turquoise cloud that was left behind.

No one really knew what to do at that point.

Arianna Started to cry and it took everything in me not to cry too. I grabbed her and brought her towards my chest. I could feel her tears seep through my shirt but I didn't care. I lost my baby sister.

My father shifted back and he did something I thought he'd never do. He broke.

He fell to his knees and started to cry. The women he was with earlier came inside and ran to his aid, grabbing a table cloth so she could cover him.

Danny and Alex were doing what I was, comforting their mates. How stupid could we have been to not see that there was something wrong.

We should have known that Eva was being weird for a reason and it wasn't because her mate didn't want her. No, it was because she was out doing what she always does. She was protecting us.

The room was being filled with the sound of people crying. My father was blaming himself, wondering what he could've done to protect her. Danny and Alex were saying comforting words to their mates. And I? I was here holding my pregnant mate, as she cries while I felt empty.

I seen David walk over to a what I'm assuming is a very distraught Braxton. You could tell by the way his body shook that he was angry. Every time he took a breath it was like his entire body moved.

David placed his hand on Braxton's shoulder but all he did was growl. Braxton got up from the floor, shifted and left. Hitting and braking every table, chair, and statue on the way out.

We watched as he ran out the room, only to hear a couple seconds later a howl. But it wasn't just any howl it was the howl for the fallen.

It's a howl that expresses that we lost someone who we truly cared about. Usually, mates and that howl was dedicated towards Eva.

My brothers and I looked at eachother and it was like we already knew what to do. We pulled back from our mates and shifted.

The guys followed my lead and we ran outside. With my father joining us.

We sat on the rock that Eva liked to sit on outside when we did the bonfire's.

First it was Alex who started, then Danny, my father and then Me.

We howled not because we lost her, but because we lost a sister. A friend, our protector, our love, our smiles on a rainy day, our laughs when skies were gray.

And finally we howled because we knew we would get her back no matter what it took.

The girls stood there and held each other as they watched as we howled our promise to our sister.

The pack came outside to see what we were doing and some of the men joined in. They didn't know why we were doing what we were doing but they could feel when the Alpha is in pain so its only instinct that they do what they can to make him feel better.

Finally when we were finished my brothers and I walked into the pack house. We didn't really care for the girls right now because we knew we needed time to ourselves to figure this out.

We ran up the stairs and into our rooms to get changed.

I walked in and shifted back only to find myself starring in the mirror.

I had the eyes that Eva had, the dimples that she had, the hair color that she had. I reminded myself so much of her that I couldn't even bother to look in the mirror anymore.

So, I broke it.

I watched as I threw my fist against the mirror watching it shatter in the process.

From there my anger only fueled more. I threw the lamp, against the wall watching as it broke into pieces.

Then it was my furniture that I tore into pieces using my claws.

I broke anything and everything I could get my hands on.

And even then, that wasn't enough.

By the time I was done furniture was ripped, bed was flipped over, blankets were torn into pieces, every glass was shattered and laid there on my bedroom floor. I looked down at my hands and realized that they had started to bleed.

There was still pieces of glass inside of my knuckles, and scratches decorated my hands. I went into the restroom and starred at my reflection.

How could I let things go this far? I should have known. I should have done more to stop her and him. And then I remembered what she said that got him to spare Braxton's life.

"I will bare your pups."God, what have I done. I heard a knock on the door and I knew it was my brothers.

I wrapped my hand in a piece of a plain white shirt.

I threw on a shirt and walked towards my oak doors.

I opened it up just for them to walk pass me and enter my room.

"I am still your Alpha you will respect me and not just enter my room without permission."

I turned to look at them but I could feel the anger that radiated off of both of them.

"Cut the crap Nate. You may be Alpha but you are our brother first."

"Yea and it's your fault shes in this position in the first place."

It was Danny who spoke.

"How the hell was this my fault?!"

I was not about to take full blame on this. I already felt bad but I didn't need them to tell me that.

"If you would have been thinking about Eva's feelings and saw the signs then she wouldn't have done what she did and we could have stopped them from taking her! But no. All you cared about was the life of your unborn child and your mate. No where in that plan did you include Eva!"

I could feel my wolf start to take over but I knew I couldn't let him out. These weren't regular pack members. These guys were my family and I knew going Alpha on them right now would make this better.

"I didn't see either of you disagreeing with me when we went over the plan with Eva. In fact you both argued on it. So this blame that you're passing around keep some for yourselves! Because that is OUR little sister! WE should have seen the signs. WE should have done more! and WE should have protected her." I whispered that last part.

We heard the door open and we saw our father walk in.

"Enough! This is not going to help us find your sister. Pull yourself together so we can come up with a plan. But if arguing is more important than your sisters life then get out of this office. I don't need children in here."

He walked passed us all and headed straight towards the laptop on the desk.

We all looked at each other and then decided that arguing wasn't important and that our father was right.

So, we followed him and watched as he started to type on his computer.

"What are you doing?" Alex asked.

"Contacting the other formal Alpha's. Ill have them have their son's start a search party around their territory. If we can have more packs help it'll increase our chances of finding her."

"I'll call Beta Jackson from Colorado. Its far but what ever address they gave Eva who knows where she could be."

Danny left and went to make his call.

"The third from Samson's pack is a good friend of mines, I'll call him. His cousin is the Alpha. He'll help us." Alex left to go call his connect and I stood there talking to my father about other possibilities.

"If he wanted to be some where no one would look where would they be?"

"Some where isolated. Where no one could hear a thing for miles."

"But where exactly could that be Dad?"

"If I knew Nathaniel, I would not be here talking to you about this." I could hear the fustration in his voice and then I realized that was kind of a dumb question. But I'm just trying to help.

So I began to make other phone calls to packs that I honestly didn't know. But I called anyways. Some were willing to help the best they could but others declined not wanting to be involved with rouges.

Which I understood but it still bothered me.

I heard the door open but didn't bother to look until I smelled who it was. I looked up and there stood Arianna in her Pj's, blood shot eyes, and messy hair. I knew she had been crying because I could feel it. But I went back to my phone calls.

She still stood there at the door and starred at me. I knew she needed me right now but I needed to find my sister I didn't have time to comfort her.

"Nathaniel, your mate requires your attention." My father said as he typed away on the computer not even bothering to look at me.

I started to dial another Alpha's number but decided I could multi task.

"Yes Arianna?" It came out harsher than I meant but I didn't bother to fix my tone.

"I miss her Nate. We were so horrible to her."

Her voice cracked and it took every ounce in me not to get up and go hug her but I needed to stay focus.

"I know. But we're doing everything we can right now to get her back."

She sniffled again and she began to cry. I hung up the phone and rubbed my face. As much as I loved Arianna I didn't need this right now.

"Athena are you busy?" I asked through the mind link.

"No Alpha."

"Please come to my office."

"Yes Alpha."

With that I cut off the mind link.

Arianna was still crying into her hands and I started to dial the number again.

"Really Nate!? Can you for once be a good mate and comfort me! I need you right now!"

Arianna screamed as tears ran down her face. That pissed me off.

"It was because I was being a good mate that I decided to send my sister off to another country! And now she's been kidnapped by some psychotic asshole who's going to do God knows what to her! I don't have time to deal with your mental break down right now I have other important things to do like find my baby sister Arianna!"

She stopped crying and kind of looked at me like I had just slapped her in the face. At that moment I didn't realize that Danny and Athena had entered the room.

"Athena please escort your luna to the kitchen. Make sure she is fed please." I went back to dialing another number.

"Yes, alpha."

She grabbed Arianna by the arm and dragged her out of the room.

Danny closed the door and I began to talk to another Alpha.

He respectfully declined my request because he had his own rogues to take care of.

I slammed down the phone and I kept redialing numbers.

Danny was doing the same. Calling any and all other Beta's to pass along a request to their Alpha. We didn't know how long we stayed in there for but it was long because when we started the sun was already up. Now, we could see the sun just coming over the horizon.

My father hasn't stopped typing since we've been here. I can tell he's more determined to find Eva then the rest of us are.

Finally, he stopped. He leaned back into his chair and rubbed his face with both hands. We heard a knocking on the door and Danny decided to get up to answer it.

When he opened it it was Destiny with a tray of coffee.

"You guys have been in here all night long. I figured you guys would need coffee to stay awake."

She smiled a little and set the try down on the desk.

"Thank you Destiny." My father said.

He got up and poured himself some coffee, and added what he needed. Danny kissed his mate and thanked her before he did the same.

Seeing Danny and Destiny reminded me of Arianna.

"Have you seen Arianna?"

Destiny looked at me and then looked down.

She didn't answer my question and avoided eye contact.

Danny kind of noticed the same as me and gave me a weird look.

"Babe? Is everything okay?"

She looked at him and then at me.

"Answer me Destiny." My voice wasn't as soft as the first time I asked and I knew danny would notice my tone of voice.

"Babe?"

Still, nothing.

"I said answer me." I got up from my chair and Danny put Destiny behind his back.

"Back off Nate."

His voice was threatening but I knew I wouldn't hurt them I just wanted to know where my mate was at.

"Alpha there's something you need to know." Her voice was sad in a way and it made me worry even more.

"Where is she?"

My wasn't mad anymore. I was scared.

"In my room."

I didn't wait any longer and headed towards Destiny's room.

When I got to her door I could hear a heart beat and I knew it was Arianna's.

I opened the room and Arianna was right there with the pack doctor.

"What happened?"

I ran towards arianna and took her hand in minds and looked around herbody for any injuries but I didn't find any.

"Is the baby alright?"

I looked at the pack doctor who looked at Arianna.

"I'll give you too a moment."

He packed up his things and left the room.

"Ari, are you okay? Talk to me baby."

I grabbed her face with both of my hands and made her make eye contact with me.

Hey eyes automatically got watery and I brought her head to my chest.

"Don't cry baby. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry for yelling at you yesterday. I was just so frustrated with everything and I didn't mean anything I...."

"She's gone." Ari cut me off and I was surprised at first.

"I know but we're going to get her back."

"Not Eva." she whispered as a tear slipped from her eye.

I didn't know who she was talking about until her hands slowly traveled to her stomach.

I took my hands from her face and took a step back.

"No...." Ari covered her mouth with one of her hands as she bit back a sob. But she nodded her head.

My eyes looked at her stomach. My baby. My baby girl. My first born was going to be a girl but now she was gone.

"How..."

Ari started to cry but she managed to speak.

"S-stress. I miscarried." I knew it wasn't her fault but I was so mad.

So mad that I turned around and threw the chair that was in the room against the wall.

Ari screamed and seconds later my father and Danny ran into the room.

"Dammit!!!" I screamed as I smashed the window.

"Nathaniel calm yourself!" I heard my father scream but I saw red.

I grabbed the bed and threw the mattress across the room.

I felt a hand touch my shoulder and it was my father.

"Look at your mate. You are scarring her Nathaniel! You can cause complications with the child!"

At that point I started to laugh.

"That's not possible because in order for that to happen there was to be a BABY! But there's not! Ari miscarried and now I have lost two people in less than 48 hours! I lost my baby. My baby girl. She's gone. She fucking gone." I could feel my throat tighten and I knew I couldn't cry.

Not even my father knew what to say at that point. He just kind of starred at me then he looked towards Ariannas stomach who was still crying.

"Nate you need to relax. I'm sorry. I really am but you are not the only one who lost their child okay? Arianna lost her too. So get it together, and be a mate to her right now. She needs you man, look at her."

And then I finally did. Here I was thinking about what I was feeling when Arianna was going through the same thing. I finally calmed down my wolf, and walked over to her.

I wrapped my arms around her and let her cry.

"I will join you all later."

No one said anything, they just left.

We stood there for a couple of minutes as she cried and I held her. We didn't have to say anything to each other because there was nothing to say anyways.

After awhile she finally stopped and looked up at me.

"I'm sorry Nate. I'm so sorry. I know how much you wanted this baby."

Her eyes started to tear up again and it honestly hurt me to see her like that.

"Hey look at me."

I grabbed her face with my hands and made her look at me.

"This, was not your fault. This wasn't anyone's fault ok? The moon Goddess does things for a reason. As much as I wanted this baby, it probably wasn't meant to be."

She nodded her head at me and I kissed her forehead.

We heard someone running up the stairs to the room and in barged Alex.

He looked white as a ghost and I knew something was wrong.

"What happened?"

He looked at me and with the most coldest voice he said

"We can see her."
