I don't know how long I decided to stay at the lake for. But I could see the sky starting to turn orangish yellowish so I knew the sun was starting to set.

If I run I'll be there in about 2 hours. If I walk it'll be 4. I could always teleport but I'm really starting to think all this power is getting to me.

So I guess I'll just walk. I need the time. So I started my journey.

I was walking when I heard this sound. It sounded like breathing but with my advance hearing it sounded like it was right next to me.

I turned my head and scanned everything. Nothing. I started to walk about but I heard a twig snap.

"I know you're there. Show yourself!" But nothing.

I listened and I could hear their heartbeat pick up. That only happens when you're scared.

"Look, I'm not going to hurt you. Please, show yourself? ."

From the bush came a wolf. But not just any wolf its the wolf I've been seeing.

I thought this wolf was a girl but now that it's standing 5ft in front of me I know it's a guy.

I just stare at him. His piercing blue eyes, dirty fur, and the smell was no better.

"My names Eva. Do you want to shift so you can tell me your name?" The wolf shook his head and whimpered.

I checked him over and he wasn't cut. So why is he making noise?

"Do you not want to change back?"

He shook his head no.

"So you do?"

Again he nodded his head. What the heck is he trying to say.

I forgot about that. But I don't want to do it.

"I don't know Rosie. Remember what the book said?"

She has a point. Here goes nothing. I have to focus as if I was trying to send him a mind link. I was starting to give up until I felt this intense pressure in my head.

"God, why can't she just understand me?"

He had a deep voice and he sounded really tired. I know I can't mind link him I could only read his mind.

"So why don't you want to shift?"

"I can't, that's the thing. I wish she understood me. I wish someone fucking did."

"Woah, let's not cuss dude. Why can't you shift?"

He titles his head to the side and growled.

"Can you hear me!?"

"Yea... Why you growling? I could just leave you know...." I went to take a step but he barked. That's what I thought.

"Because are you some kind of witch?! "

"And if I am? What's it to you!? Rogue."

"I'm not a rogue by choice!"

"So I've been told. What's your story?"

"It's none of your business's witch!"

"Hell ye it's not. So I bid you a good day." I smirked and started to walk off until I was thrown to the grown.

"Umph."

I turned around to see wolf boy tackle me.

"Wait! Don't leave! Look, I need your help."

"And why should I help you when you almost killed me!?" I was being over dramatic but hey, I actually liked this shirt!

"Because my mates in your pack. And your brother is the Alpha. Please, you're the only one that can help me."

I starred into his eyes and all I could see was love and honesty.

"Great. Now I'm playing match maker. Get off of me!" I pushed him but he wouldn't budge.

"Not until you help me!" He growled and all I did was push him again. Men.

"Ugh! Fine. I'll help. But you owe me. Now, get off!"

He did as I asked and was now waiting for me.

"Name?"

"Xavier."

"Eva. So. Who's your mate?"

"It's the feisty little thing you fought in front of everyone."

I stopped dead in my tracks. No...

"Jessica!?"

"Is that her name? Jessica. Pretty."

"No. Now I'm definitely not helping you. She's a no good, mate stealing, trashy whore who's done everything and ever---"

I didn't get to finish considering I was tackled again. Xavier growled at me and scratched my shoulder a little.

I hissed and he put more pressure on it.

"Don't talk about my mate that way!!"

Now, I was mad.

"Your mate, is a slut!"

I grabbed him from around the throat with a bare hand and picked him up. This new strength is coming in handy.

I finally stood up, with him still in my hand.

"The only reason you and your slutty mate are still alive is because I have a heart. Unlike your mate. Attack me again and I'll have no problem ripping out your throat. The only reason I'm helping is because no one should be separated by their mate. So I'll help. Hurt me again, heart or no heart you'll regret it. Understood?"

"Watever." I dropped him and he just kind of laid there.

"We're running the rest of the way."

He didn't say anything and I didn't care. But I remembered when I brought Ariana home... That was a mess. Better let Nate know ahead of time.

"Bringing a rogue home. His mate is in the pack. Be home soon."

With my powers I can block out even Nate's voice. Sometimes it's good to be me.

After while we finally made it home. Nate was in the front, waiting with about 30 guards including Danny and Alex. I saw the girls in the back, waiting for their mates looking worried. And the she devil herself was there. Bitch.

Danny threw a shirt at me and then a shirt at Xavier who looked at me.

"I can't shift back because I have a spell casted upon me for sleeping with a lot of girls and not waiting for my mate. One of the girls I slept with was a witch and she casted this spell. Only way to break it is with true loves kiss."

Great. A sleeping beauty story. Time to play messenger. I went behind a tree, shifted, and threw on the shirt.

"This, is Xavier. He's a rogue that's been following me for awhile now. He can't shift because he slept with a lot of girls including a witch. When she found out he didn't wait for his mate she casted a spell on him. Only his mate can break it, and that said mate is the one and only Jessica."

Jessica looked shocked, happy and angry.

"You're like that because you never waited for me?!" She was pissed but all he did was whine. Cry baby.

"Hey look at that, you both have something in common. You both have slept with a lot of people in and outside of the pack. See, chemistry already."

Xavier growled and Jessica ran towards me.

I didn't bother to move, when she got close enough she shifted and all I did was take a step to the right.

She crashed to the floor but got up quick. She lunged at me again but this time I just grabbed her by her throat.

"I'm going to tell you what I told your mate. The only reason you're still alive is because I have a heart, and I don't think mates should be separated from each other. But try to attack me again and I won't hesitate to kill you. Got it?" I smiled at her and all she did was whine.

"Release her Eva!"

Nate said it with power that even my wolf had to back down from it. So I threw her against the tree next to Xavier.

I looked towards Nate and bowed.

"Danny handle this. Eva, my office." Nate grabbed my arm and dragged me upstairs.

In his office was my father and James.

"Sit." Nate walked to the front of his desk while I sat on the opposite side of it.

"What the hell were you thinking? You don't get to teleport when you're in a bad situation, and you don't get to block us out either."

I didn't say anything and just looked at my hands. They were shaking and I couldn't figure out why.

"Eva are you listening?"

"Huh? What?" I looked up at Nate and he just ran a hand through his hair.

"I said you need to stop using your powers. We've read the book that we found in your room. This could kill you. And it's changing you. You're becoming cruel, and you're angry all the time. Look how you handled things back there. You've never acted like that."

Deep down I knew Nate was right so I just threw my head in my hands.

"What do you want from me Nate? I don't know what I'm doing ok? I'm trying to be who I was meant to be, without dying, without hurting me or you guys. I'm trying to protect you guys. I am protecting you guys, I wish you all could see that." I whispered the last part. It was more to me but I think he heard.

I looked up at Nate and he was looking at my father.

"Eva... I think, you need to get away. Maybe find a nice beach house you can stay at. Get your mind together."

What?

"You want... You want to send me away?" I was shocked.

This I expected from my father but Nate? Never.

"It'll be just temporary."

I shook my head. I can't leave. Not yet anyways. Tonight's the last night I can be with them. Be with my family.

"Look, ill make you a deal. I'll leave tomorrow after the ceremony. I want to see my Bestfriend take over the Luna tittle and see my other friends take over the beta and third position too. "

Nate looked at me and I could tell he was unsure.

"You... You don't want me at the ceremony do you?"

Nate looked away and I knew my answer.

"Oh. I won't attend if it makes you happy."

Nate sighed and looked at me.

"Ariana is pregnant. I'm scared she might upset you and... "

"And you think I'll hurt the baby." He nodded his head and I couldn't blame him.

"I see. Look it's just for tomorrow after that you'll never see me again, and then you'll all be safe. I promise. "

"Eva I'm doing this for your own good. I just want what's best for you."

I nodded my head and l could feel my eyes start to fill with tears.

"I know." I whispered it. I got up and a traitor tear fell from my eyes. I didn't bother looking at my father or James. Because they were just at fault as Nate was.

Before I reached the door Nate spoke.

"There's going to be a bonfire tonight. It just for the 6 of us. But we would like you to come." I didn't turn but I smiled.

"That sounds nice."

I walked into the hallway and up the stairs. I saw Danny talking to Jessica and what I think is Xavier since they're both holding hands.

Danny sees me but looks away when he notices I'm looking at him.

I go into my room, and lay down. I let the tears hit the pillow as I just cry. I came to make amends with Nate. When did my life become so hard?

I fell asleep crying. I woke up about 3 hours later and I noticed it was dark. I went to my window and sure enough there was Nate, Danny, Alex, Ariana, Athena and Destiny. Sitting by the fire laughing and smiling.

I wanted to go down there but I didn't want to ruin their plans or time together. My stomach growled and I realized I hadn't eaten all day.

I went downstairs towards the kitchen and decided to eat. I guess everyone else ate too since there was already food. I warmed up the chicken Alfredo in the microwave and poured myself some orange juice.

I was about to walk out of the kitchen when Ariana came in. She put her hands over her stomach when she saw me and that kind of hurt.

It was kind of awkward so I was going just going to leave. I turned to walk out the other door but she spoke.

"I'm pregnant." She sounded happy.

I turned back around and smiled at her.

"Yea, Nate told me. Congratulations."

"Thanks."

Again it was awkward.

"How far along are you?"

"Just a week. But it's an alpha baby so he'll be here soon."'

He. It's a he.

"You're having a boy?"

"Oh I don't know. I feel like it's a he you know? I was shocked when I went to the doctors to make sure. "

She was pregnant and I didn't know?

"Who went with you?"

She kind of looked guilty but then she kind of turned angry.

"The girls. Considering my Bestfriend wasn't here for me. I'm

Sorry Eva but where have you've been? Lately it's just been all about you. I'm pregnant and here you are, causing trouble and nonsense."

I didn't know what to say. Sorry that I've been protecting you? Sorry that I can't tell you all that I've been secretly doing favors for a guys who wants me, and is willing to put your lives at stake?

"I'm sorry Ariana." I could feel the tears come back again. She's right. I am a bad best friend. Nate came right in at that time.

"What's going on?"

Ariana crossed her arms and looked at me.

"I was just telling Eva how bad of a best friend she's been. Causing problems that the pack doesn't need. Problems this family doesn't need."

"I'm sorry Ariana really... I'm just.... you don't understand. "

She threw her hands in the air and laughed.

"Of course I don't! Because you won't tell me! You never do now, God Eva. " with that she walked away and joined the others outside.

"She's just angry right now Eva."

I sniffled and put down the food and drink.

"No.. She's right. I've been so busy doing what I have to do, and I didn't stop to think about her. That trip tomorrow, it's best if I just leave. No one wants me here, and I can see that now. I'm sorry Nate, I really am."

I let the tears fall, as I exited the kitchen. All of a sudden I wasn't hungry anymore. I walked up the steps and headed for my room.

When I got inside there, in my bed was a note and a dress.

"Enjoy the time you have left with family do not stress. They don't understand they never will but tomorrow wear this dress. Until tomorrow I'll see you again, but don't forget it's our little secret. - Unknown."

The dress was beautiful. Maybe leaving won't be so bad.
