I followed Nate to his office. He was quiet and didn't say a word.

He walked in first and I closed the door. I stood by the door waiting for him to say something. But he walked to his window and stood there.

"A rogue Eva. You brought a fucking rogue!?"

I was kind of taken back by his attitude. This should be a good thing for him.

"No. I brought you your MATE Nate. " he can't be serious.

"Did you know she was my mate?"

"No."

"So you were just going to bring a rogue into the territory and think everything was going to be ok?"

Well when he puts it like that it does sound ... Stupid.

"She's not just any rogue Nate. I've known her since Freshmen year of college. She's a good person. I was skeptical at first when i met her at the mall but come on. She's my best friend, what was I suppose to do!?"

I threw my hands up because we shouldn't even be having this conversation.

"Ignore her! There are laws Eva! You don't get to do anything you want because I'm Alpha. There is a council you have to go through! Don't you ever think!?"

"What if that were Steven!? huh? You wouldn't be happy that your Best friend is a rogue and you'd do anything to help him right!? She's of Alpha blood Nate!"

"This isn't about me Eva! This is about you being careless and endangering the pack! You should've mind linked me first and not just bring a rogue!"

"She is not a ROGUE! She is your MATE! Get your egotistical head out of your ass long enough to realize she is way more than a ROGUE! Just listen to her story! Then decide!"

"You're missing the point! She's a rogue! You should've said something! You don't bring random rogues over here without permission. You do realize she is technically trespassing? And Decide what?! I'm not going to reject her! I'm happy she's my mate but she was a rogue first. Next time tell me!"

"God what is with you Alphas thinking more about your reputation than your mates!?"

"My reputation has nothing to do with this! She is my mate and I will accept her regardless of her circumstances. Just because YOUR mate doesn't want you, doesn't mean the rest of us don't want ours! And have you ever wondered about that huh? Maybe he can see how careless, idiotic and naive, you are! That's probably why he doesn't want you as his Mate Eva! Because you do stupid shit like this to jeopardize the pack! If you weren't my sister id kick you out myself!"

"Nate stop!" He turned to see Ariana come in but I didn't bother turning around to look at her.

But there. The truth is out. Nate finally said it. And the truth... It hurt. My brothers... I'd die for them. Do anything to keep them safe. I've always wanted what was best for them. But I guess this feeling was one sided.

"Ariana... How much did you hear of that? And why are you out of bed?"

"I've heard everything. You mean it? You'll accept me?"

She walked in and walked towards him to which he wrapped his arms around her and closed his eyes.

"Yes."

"Oh thank god." She cried in his arms and he hushed her with soothing words.

My eyes began to water and I let the tears slide down my cheeks.

They broke apart and Nate looked at me. I could tell he regretted his words but it was too late.

"Is that what you really think of me? "

He was going to answer but I put my hand up to stop him,

"Don't." My voice cracked and it only made me want to cry more.

I turned around and ran towards the door. Danny and Alex were right there and they looked beyond pissed. But I know it wasn't at me.

I pushed past them and ran outside. My father saw me and tried to come to me but I shook my head and kept crying. I shifted and ran. I didn't know where but I ran.

I know I didn't run out of the boundaries of the territory I was still inside but I just kept running. I heard my father calling me but I ignored him.

I kept running faster and faster until my legs burned to the point where I couldn't run anymore.

I finally stopped at a river and collapsed. I was breathing hard and all I wanted to do was cry. So I did. I shifted back, found a log with clothes and put them on.

I sat on the rock that over looked the whole river, brought my knees to my chest and cried.

I didn't know how long I stayed there. It was sunny when I left but now the moon was out. I ran out of tears hours ago so now I'm just sitting here.

"Well aren't we a sad doggy tonight?"

I turned to see "unknown" standing by a tree at the end of the river.

"Go away." I wasn't in the mood to fight, argue or anything.

"And leave you here alone? What kind of mate would I be?"

Rosie growled at that and even I was a little mad that he would call himself that.

"You are not my mate!"

He didn't know even look bothered by the way I snapped at him. Instead he just smiled.

"No I'm not. But your mate rejected you. "

I was shocked that he even knew that. I looked at him and he was still smiling.

"Word travels fast." He shrugged his shoulders like if talking to him about this was like talking about the weather.

I didn't say anything and just kept looking at the river and the moon.

"7 hours. You've been out here for 7 hours... Excuse me, 8 now."

"Stalking me now?" I said raising an eyebrow up at him.

"Always my dear. But I just came to remind you. 6 days and 5 nights. That's all the time you have left with your... Family."

"I know." I whispered as I felt the tears pool up again.

"Don't be sad Mate. You'll be much happier with me. Plus, I came to have you do me a favor."

I laughed at that. The guy that stalks me, and is forcing me to leave with him wants me to do a favor. For him! The irony.

"No." I threw a rock in the river and watched it skip.

"I wasn't asking. Do it or Emily gets it."

I sighed and started to pull my hair.

"No! Screw you! You want me? Take me. But I'm done! I'm not playing your little games! You wouldn't dare touch her anyways. We have guards around the perimeter. You can't take them all."

"True. You do have guards but I can take them. Here, see for yourself."

He took out his phone and threw it to me. It was a live feed. It looks like a bonfire was going on outside and everyone was enjoying themselves. I noticed Nate was standing by himself at a tree. His eyes scanned through them and he sighed.

Was he looking for me?

Ariana went up to him and she placed her hand on his cheek. He closed him eyes and they were talking. Eventually he nodded his head and he joined everyone else.

But then I saw it. Emily. She was catching butterflies and there was a red dot on her dress.

"Is that.... "

"A laser beam? Yes. With one easy text she'll be dead the moment I give the signal. "

My heart rate was beating faster and faster.

"You're lying."

He whistled and more laser beams appeared on her dress. He went to whistled again but I stopped him.

"NO!"

He made this weird bird noise and all the dots were gone.

"I'm true to my word Evangeline. "

I dropped the phone and placed my face into my hands.

"What do you want?" I whispered it but I knew he heard me.

He went behind a bush and brought back this elderly women.

She looked so afraid and scared.

"Kill her."

My heart dropped. He... He wanted me to do what?

"What? No!" I shook my head frantically and he whistled. I knew that was the first signal on Emily.

"Do it, or Emily dies."

I looked towards the women and she was shaking. She looked beaten and starved.

"What did you do to her?!"

"Now Evangeline!"

"No! You're sick!"

He whistled again and I knew it was the second signal.

"Last chance, or baby Emily dies!"

I looked towards the old lady and she nodded her head at me. The tears in my eyes betrayed me as they fell.

"But you both are to fight. To the death."

He threw the women towards me and yelled shift.

"I'm sorry." I said to her and she smiled at me.

We shifted and started fighting. I was going easy on her and I let her get me a couple of times.

"Make it realistic!" He yelled.

So we started to fight foreal. I didn't want to hurt her but I was thinking of Emily.

The women shifted back and nodded her head at me.

I grabbed her neck in my throat and before I twisted it she looked up at me.

"Thank you." And then I broke her neck.

She went limp on the floor and I shifted back. I threw on the shirt and went towards the old lady. I laid her head on my lap and rocked her.

"I'm sorry.... I'm so so so sorry." I kept repeating that as I cried. I just killed someone innocent to save another life.

"Let her go."

But I didn't listen. He came up to me and pulled me by my hair.

"Ahhhhhhhh!" I screamed as he threw me like a rag doll. Two men came and took her body.

"Why!? Why did you make me kill her!?"

He bent down and grabbed my chin. I tried to move my face out of his grip but it was tight.

"Because now you are one of us."

He got up to leave but before he did I had to ask.

"Us?"

He stopped and turned his head slightly.

"A monster."

With that he walked out of sight until I couldn't see him anymore.

I let it all go. I screamed, I yelled, and threw rocks and dirt. And I cried. I didn't know what to do.

I stayed for another 2 hours until I decided to start walking home. I hurt moving.

I had scratches everywhere, blood was pouring out of all places, no doubt I was bruised. And my cheek stung from when he slapped me.

I've been walking for awhile until I finally saw the glow of the fire. I didn't care that everyone could see me. Right now I just wanted to be left alone.

I still haven't stopped crying. But it doesn't matter. I stopped at the tree line making sure to take a breath before I walked in.

I looked up at the stars and I knew my mom was looking down at me.

I heard laughter, music, and singing. So I started walking towards the pack house until Alex saw me.

"Oh my god Eva!" Everyone stopped what they were doing except me. I just kept walking.

I heard a lot of footsteps running towards my direction but I kept limping. I didn't care for any of them right now.

Someone pulled my arm and it was Ariana. I hissed at the amount of pain she caused but yanked my arm out of her hand and kept walking.

"Eva wait! What happened!? Talk to me!"

Soon my brothers, and their mates surrounded me. I didn't care to answer any of them, especially Nate.

I closed my eyes and leaned against the wall. I was starting to get tired.

"Enough! Everyone is dismissed except for Ariana and Eva."

Everyone listened to Nate And I finally had room to walk. I went to walk around them but Nate caught my arm.

"Stop. You WILL tell me what happened."

I yanked my arm out of his hand and looked at him. I was still crying but I was angry.

"No." I started walking up the stairs but he grabbed me by my arm and pulled me back down. But he pulled me too hard and I fell.

"Ahhhhh" I cradled my arm that was already fractured and Nate looked scared.

"Nate!" Ariana came to help me up but I pushed her away.

"Eva I'm only trying to help."

"I don't need help. I'm fine." I got up and started to walk but Nate wasn't having it.

"I am your brother!"

"Are you?" I whispered but I knew he heard.

"Just tell me what happened."

"I'm a monster. That's what happened. Now, leave me alone."

I got up and decided to sleep in the guest room downstairs. It had clothes and a shower inside.

"I'm your alpha you will obey me."

"Not for long." Nate started to shake with rage.

"Screw you Eva! You don't want to tell me. Fine! I don't care anymore."

And just like that he stalked off and left. Ariana looked at me and left after Nate. I walked towards the bed room door and headed straight for the shower.

The hot water hurt but it felt amazing at the same time. I washed off all the blood, sweat, and tears. After about an hour I got out.

I changed into my pj's and decided to head up stairs to my room.

When I made it I saw the light of the fire coming from my window. I walked towards it and I saw everyone around the fire hugged up.

Danny had his arm around Destiny. Athena was tucked under Alex arm so that she was laying on her side and he was supporting her weight. And Nate had Ariana between his legs. So her back was to his chest and he had his arms wrapped around her.

I guess Nate felt me starring because he looked up with apologetic eyes but I walked away. I turned off the light and headed towards my bed.

When I moved the blanket to get get I found a rose and a note.

"Do not be displeased that I have showed you some.... Frankenstein created a monster also out of love. " - Unknown.

I grabbed the note from last time, and the Rose and note from this time and threw them in a box. I locked it and threw it under neath the bed.

Why couldn't I just be normal?
