《The Alphas Secret Wolf》Chapter 18

"Eva wake up" I could hear Nate talking but I didn't want to wake up. I just wanted to keep sleeping. So I swatted his hand away.
"Shhhh five more minutes."
I heard and felt him shake as he chuckled to himself.
"Cmon Eva we need to get going remember?"
Opening my eyes and yawning while I stretched was a bitter sweet thing to do. Bitter because I knew I was going to be awake completely and there was no turning back. And sweet because hopefully Nate and I find our family or someone that could help us.
"Fine. I'm awake." I say standing up.
"Cmon we should probably get going. The sooner the better." Nate says running a hand through his hair.
So we did just that. We packed up our stuff which was some leaves, twigs, and the strawberries and headed out again.
The woods always reminded me of our mom. Just because when she wanted to go out and have family day we would always be some where private in the woods.
We lived by a lot of kids and families so we always had our own group of friends. We even had a school that was close by our house. It was about a 5 minute walk. It was cool from what I can remember. Kind to think about it, I don't remember a lot about anything.
"Hey Nate?"
"Yea?"
"What was mom like?"
He snapped his head towards me and he looked confused.
"What brought this on?" He said still walking.
"Nothing. It's just I can't remember our childhood before she died. It's like all my memories were erased and the ones I remember are the ones dad told us."
"I... I don't know a lot. I wish I did but I only remember bits and pieces of her."
He said looking down at his feet but never' stopped moving.
"Will you tell me about her? Like the things you remember?" I ask a little embarrassed.
"Sure. What do you want to know?"
"Mmmm what was she like?" I asked.
I looked over at Nate to see him thinking over what he's going to say.
"She was funny. I remember one time when I was about 8 the twins were 6 and you were 4 and it was Halloween. Dad had to work or something telling mom he'd be back later on that night. So mom dressed us all up. I was a banana, Danny was a green grape, Alex was a red grape and you were a strawberry. Mom dressed up like a cake and when dad came home she said who's hungry for desert and we attacked him. Dad laughed so hard and he never looked at fruit cake the same."

So dad did smile and laugh. And he wasn't always such a strict and emotionless person. But I guess when mom died he lost a part of him. I guess that's what true love does to you. I had to smile at that. Mom really did bring out the best in dad.
"Wow. She was really creative. If we make it out of here, you're totally putting on a banana suit for me." I said bumping my shoulder with his, well my shoulder to his elbow anyways.
"Haha very funny. Ok what else?"
"Who did she like the best?" I said smirking.
"The twins." Nate said smiling a little.
"What! Why?!" I screamed a little annoyed that my brothers were the favorite.
"Because the twins were funny and drove dad insane. Mom always found it cute how the twins would run around in diapers and mess up dads office with paint or markers. And dad couldn't yell at them because he found it some what cute too. The twins causing trouble has always put a smile on dads face and I think that's why they're her favorites."
We both started laughing at the twins expense. Imagine! My father the strict, emotionless, cold hearted person has laughed because the twins out of all people would paint his office with their hands and he couldn't do anything about it! Now that's pretty amazing.
"That's-that's so funny. Man I wish mom was here still. Maybe dad wouldn't be so hard on us." I said in between laughs.
"Yea I know what you mean. But he's only hard because he cares." Nate says sobering up.
"I just wish he was both a dad and strict parent not just one you know?"
"Yea I get you." Nate says kicking a rock with his foot.
"What else do you know?" I ask hoping he had more to tell me.
"She liked cooking. She made the most amazing fudge cookies ever. If I could have 5 minutes with her I'd use a minute for her to tell me the recipe so I could make them for myself! Oh and she sang this song, I can't remember the words but she always sang it when we were scared."
"Wow. I guess my cooking skills come from her then Huh?" I say smiling a little.
"Yup-p" Nate says popping the p at the end.
"Anything else?" I ask looking up at Nate.
He looks down at me and shakes his head.
"No. That's it. I'm sorry Eva I wish there was more."
"Don't be sorry. Thank you for telling me all you knew. It's hard missing a ghost you know?"
Then we heard it. A growling noise. Both Nate and I froze on the spot. Dropping the basket in the process. We turned around and there it was. The wolf that attacked me. Dad said he took care of it!

"Nate? What do we do?" I say shaking a little.
Nate pushes me behind him, and gets in a fighting stance.
"Get behind me and don't move until I say so got it?"
"Ok."
The wolf starts snarling and snaps it's teeth at us. Nate lowers himself a little ready if the wolf decided to leap forward. But then a light appears, and the wolf howls and leaves towards the other direction.
"Nate what's happening?!" I screamed on the verge of panicking.
"Stay calm. Just stay behind me like I said."
I grip the back of Nate's shirt while he stands protectively around me. Then she appeared and she was beautiful.
"Oh my god." I hear Nate whisper and he went from tensing to tensing even more.
The women before us stood with a white gown dress that fit her perfectly. She had a golden necklace on, with a turquoise diamond in the middle. Her black beautiful curly hair payed perfectly down on shoulder while the rest was behind her. She had these hazel green eyes, and a 100 waltz smile. She was just breath taking.
"It can't be." Nate said looking in awe at the women.
"Nate? Who is that?" I said whispering to him.
"Oh my. You've all grown to be so beautiful." The women's voice cracked at the end as her eyes filled with tears.
"Mom?" Nate whispers.
"Hello Nate." She says smiling at him.
"Evangeline, you may come out from behind your brother." I peak out to see them both looking at me.
"Nate it's a trick. This isn't our mother. It's a sick joke these people are playing on us." I say looking accusingly at her. Hurt flashes through her eyes but she's fast to recover.
"Wait this doesn't make sense. Eva's right. That wolf was killed I saw him die by my father. My mother is dead. This isn't real."
I could hear Nate's voice crack and I grabbed his hand with mines giving it a reassuring squeeze.
"My Name is Samantha Stines Everlast. Mother of Nathaniel, Daniel, Alexander and Evangeline Everlast. Luna of Dark Crescent Moon Pack. And Mate to David Everlast." She said with such pride.
"Luna? Mate? Dark crescent moon pack? What are you talking about?" Nate said.
"You guys don't know. I forgot. No matter, there's no time to explain now but you must leave. You all have to go." She said starting to panic.
"Wait! If you're our mom then why are we here? What's going on?" I said not really understanding what's happening.
"Please I can't explain. Not now. You must go!"
"Where? Tell us how to get home! Please." I barely said above a whisper.
My mother came up to both Nate and I and hugged us. I knew then when she held us that she was telling the truth. This was our mother.
"My babies. You guys are so perfect. I love you all but I will only explain so much since your father hasn't told you yet. You're not like other kids. You're different. A Luna is an Alphas Mate. Nate you're an alpha. You all are children of an Alpha. The first born son is to run the pack when the present alpha passes down the tittle. Nate you play in an important role for 1200 people. You will have the biggest pack soon if you choose so that is. Evangeline you will soon know you're fate and where your heart lyes. That's all I can say. But you both have a choice."
"Mom? Where are we?" Nate asked.
"Limbo. You're not dead but your halfway there. When I saw you were Introuble I asked the moon goddess for time. To help and guide you two. The moon goddess gave me only a couple of minutes and now I have 2 left." She says panicking.
"Dead? But... But how?" I asked.
"The blast from the noise damaged you two the most. I don't know why but it did. Now I have go. You have a choice stay with me, or return home to your father and become the Warriors I know you could be." She says touching both of our faces.
"Evangeline pass a message to your father for me please. 'Two hearts soar as one, until the time has come only then that they'll both know, true love shines and forever glows' he'll know what that means. And if any of you need my help again, there's a box inside the wall in the house, find it and I'm all yours. Now, what are your decision?"
We didn't want to leave, we missed our mom, and I could stay here forever with her and watch over my brothers. But my brothers and dad. I'm going to miss them. Nate and I looked at mom and we both knew what we wanted.
My mother knew what we were thinking and that's when she touched our foreheads and everything went black.
