Knock.... Knock.... Knock

"Enter" I look over as my Beta comes walking through the door. He bows his head as he acknowledges me.

"Alpha." He says

"Jeremiah, is everything set?" I ask while adjusting my tie.

"It is. Your father is downstairs waiting for you." I look over and Jeremiah is wearing a black suit, with a gold watch, and his black Italian leather shoes.

"Very well, I'll be down in a minute." He bows his head and leaves. I take a final look in the mirror making sure everything is alright.

I'm wearing a dark blue suit and tie, with my black watch and black Italian leather shoes. My hair looks as if I had just woken up, so I run my fingers through it to slick it back. That'll do.

I start making my way down the stairs and see my father talking to Jeremiah.

"Ahhh there you are. You look good son, although you do take after me so it's expected." I look at my father as he laughs with Jeremiah and I roll my eyes at the two. Children.

"Are you ready? Let's go and come back. I do not want to be gone for long." I say as I open the front door.

"Let's go then, shall we?" And with that Jeremiah, my father and I are off towards the Everlast house hold.

About an hour later we arrive at a three story, high class, house. I'll give them credit where credit is due, this house is beautiful.

"Please everyone be on your best behavior. This is an old friend. Jeremiah I do hope you keep your suggestions to yourself this time?"

"Yes sir."

"Well let's go then." I say as I open my door. This house has no protection, no wonder his daughter was attacked.

Knock.... Knock... Knock..

"Danny! Alex!" We hear from what seems to be coming from behind the house.

I exchange a look between Jeremiah and my father. Jeremiah looks tense, while my father seems calm. I don't know what to expect so I'll assume the worst.

"Danny you're with me, Alex stay with Eva we have guest."

We hear a sliding door open and I can smell two scents. One of oak wood the other apple spice. Suddenly the door opens to reveal two gentlemen.

They both look sweaty so it seems they were working out. Judging by there clothes and the dirt on them, they must've been training. One radiated off Alpha power, it was a little bit which was odd, but you could tell he was an Alpha. The other reminded me a lot of Jeremiah, he seemed tensed and yet composed at the same time. Must be a Beta.

"Hello son, I suppose you remember us from our last encounter?" My father says.

"I do. How can I help you gentlemen?" I watched as he crossed his arms over his chest, and parted his feet. His eyes moved from my father to Jeremiah, and then to me.

He stood about my height, 6'3, he was built, his grey eyes did hold a certain coldness to them. But I wasn't scared, he was just another Alpha.

"Well I'm here to see your father." I watched as both of them tensed even more at the mention of their father.

"I'm sorry you came all this way but he isn't here at the moment he's away on a business trip and will be back soon."

"Oh. Well that's a shame." My father started coughing and I immediately got worried.

"Dad are you alright?" I ask looking worriedly at my father who was still coughing.

"Danny, go get some water for him. Please, come in." I looked over at Jeremiah who looked unsure himself.

"We'd love too. Thank you." My father replied. He lead us through his house and to the kitchen. But I was suddenly hit with this intoxicating smell of strawberries. The smell was so strong Jeremiah had caught me before I could hit the ground.

'Alpha are you alright? What's happening?'

'Do you smell that? Why is it so strong?'

''Smell what?'

'Strawberries!' I screamed through the mind linked.

He lifted his nose and started smelling but he couldn't smell anything.

"Are you two alright?" I turn to see the one they call Danny looking at us suspiciously.

I stood up straighter this time and nod my head at Jeremiah in thanks.

"I'm fine. I just got a little light headed that is all."

We all started on our way again, towards the kitchen where my father sat at the table drinking coffee.

"Would you care for any?"

The alpha son asked me.

"Braxton and this is my be- best friend Jeremiah." I was going to say beta but I remembered they know nothing about our kind.

"Ahhhh Yes I remember. I'm Nathaniel, and this is my brother Daniel..."

He never got to finish because we heard the sliding door open and in flew two bodies mangled with each other. From what I could tell one was a girl and the other was a guy.

They both got up from the floor and charged at each other. The guy threw A punch at the girl but she ducked just in time.

She turned around and threw a punch at him which he caught with his hand and then pushed her away from him. By now she was fuming and he went to charge at her. They both fell on the floor but she flip them so that she was straddling him.

He being stronger than her Flip them so now he was on top. She kicked him off and twirled in the air to send a foot to his chest. Before he could hit the ground and land on his back he turned and landed on his stomach.

Just when he tried to get up she took that chance and jumped on his back. She held him down with her knee being placed in the middle of his back, and took his Arm and angled it so he couldn't move. Smart.

"Give?" She said out of breath.

"Never." The guy replied as he tried to move but groaned in pain when she pulled back further on his arm.

"I said GIVE." She demanded.

"I give." He tapped his right hand on the floor and she stood up triumphantly above him.

I haven't seen her face but by just looking at her back I could tell she was beautiful. Her curly midnight hair laid perfectly down her back, her some petite body told me that she worked out a lot. Probably training. But it's when she turned around that made my heart stop.

She had these beautiful grey eyes that were sparkling with amusement and embarrassment since she barely noticed we were here. We locked eyes and I swore on my mothers grave I thought I'd never hear that word pop into my head .

'MATE' my wolf yelled. While he was happy, I was angry. How could this happen!? I didn't want a mate, I was perfectly happy without her.

It was Nathaniel's throat clearing that shook me out of my thoughts. He looked disapprovingly at the two as if they were kids.

"This is my other brother Alexander who is Also Daniels twin." I looked away from my mate and to her brothers to see he was right. The two looked exactly alike, but you get more of the Beta power from Daniel.

"And this is my only sister Evangeline." She looked at her brother with scared filled eyes because she knew she had embarrassed him. I don't blame him if he was angry I'd be upset too.

"Care to explain why you two were fighting?" He asked.

I watch as my mates eyes grew even wider with fear, and I growled at that. Not purposely of course but my wolf didn't like anyone scaring what was his. He had the need to protect her.

She cleared her throat but nodded her head yes.

"Alex said I couldn't beat him, so I took that as a challenge." She said looking down at her feet, while cupping her hands together.

"I've told you many times Eva. Alex could hurt you. You can't keep challenging him like that!" He screamed in a disapproving tone. I had to hold on to the edge of the table to stop my wolf from surfacing. I could feel my eyes turn black and my father looking at me strangely.

"I'm sorry." She whispered hurt that her brother yelled.

I growled even louder this time and the only one who knew it came from me was Jeremiah and my father. The rest stood in front and behind my mate.

"It's back" she said.

"Alex take her upstairs to her room and wait till I get there." I growled even louder because who were they to stop me from seeing my mate!? I am to protect her NOT THEM!

'You will control yourself Braxton!' My father screamed through the mind link. It calmed me enough to reign in my wolf.

'Alpha?" Jeremiah asked. I shook my head at the two of them and stood up.

"We must be going. Please tell your father we came by and that James Came over. He'll know who my father is."

Nathaniel looked at me for a minute then nodded his head.

"I suppose I could pass on the message. Let me walk you out."

"Thank you again," my father said shaking hands with Nathaniel.

"No problem." We nodded at each other and left. When I got inside my car I could still feel the presence of my mate. I looked outside my window and saw my mate looking at sky. I hadn't realized it got dark so quick.

She had her eyes closed, and had both hands leaning on the railings. She turned around and out came Nathaniel. He put a hand on her shoulder as he talked to and she nodded with her head down. He lifted up her chin with his fingers and she threw herself into his arms. I growled at the sudden action they shared.

Both I and my wolf knew it wasn't like that but she was still an Alphas mate. Now, I had more questions for her father. Why were they so scared when they heard me growl? Had they really not heard a wolf growl before? Does she really not know she's a wolf?

How did her father prevent the change?

But most importantly does she know I'm her mate? Did she feel what I felt?

Shaking my head I knew not to think about it. I didn't want a mate, and I won't get one. I'll just have to do what I have to do. I'll reject her.
