I watched as Eva left the room, with a sad expression. It always angered me when he would upset her but I always bit my tongue.

He ran his hand through his hair and I took that as my chance to finally get a good look at him. My father is 45 now, but looking at him you wouldn't think he was even 30. It's sad to say but I took after my father. Black hair, grey eyes, height, nice built form. We were exactly alike, yet different. He stood with confidence, and power. His 6'4 made him look even more intimidating. But not to me, I've stood against my father before. I've disobeyed his wished. But we agree on a lot of things as well.

Clearing my throat I decided to break the silence.

"Was that necessary father?" I said while looking at him with a blank expression and crossed arms.

He mimicked my stance and raised his

eyebrow.

"It was. Please Nathaniel do not tell me how to raise my child. You know the rules no one is to go anywhere alone. Do not fight me on this."

I nodded my head at him and decided to sit at one of the chairs in the study. My father decided to do the same but he sat at his desk.

"This business you wish to discuss, what is it?" I ask.

He stared at me for a while, as if searching for something. He got up and walked over to the window that oversees the view of the forest.

" I need to ask you favor." He said, not taking his eyes off the view.

"What favor father?" I ran a hand through my hair, another trait I got from him.

"You will attend a meeting with me. You do not need to speak, only when.."

I cut him off "spoken to. I know." He looked at me and crossed his arms.

"You will do well not interrupt me again Nathaniel. Am I understood?"

'Hard ass' I thought. "I apologize, please continue" I said.

He sighed and said something I didn't think he'd ever say.

"You should be. But I am sorry as well, I know this interferes with your social life, work Ect. And it is last minute so please forgive me. But I need this of you. It will be held this weekend. Fathers and their first born sons are to attend."

To say I was shocked is an understatement, but I liked the idea of actually doing something with him. It might be a meeting but I didn't care. Maybe then I'll be able to talk to him about being more involved withDanny and Alex. They've missed him a lot but I can tell Eva misses him more. She doesn't show it but I can see right through her.

"Nathaniel? Are you listening to me?"

My father said.

"Yes, my apologies. I will attend this meeting with you this weekend. On one condition of course." I say leaning back into the chair.

"If you must, what is it?" He asked.

"You are to tell Eva goodbye before you leave, and that you promise to be back for the Twins birthday next month. And you are to KEEP That promise about the twins as well." He looks at me as if he's pondering the question.

"Evangeline" he says.

"What?" Has he lost his marbles?

"Evangeline. Your sisters name is Evangeline, not Eva." He answered.

"She prefers Eva. But I don't expect you to know that."

Dammit. That was a little harsh. I sit up about to explain but he beats me to it.

"Fine, I will come for Daniel and Alexander's birthday. And I will say farewell to your sister as well." He says packing up his belongings.

"I'll be back tomorrow to pick you up at 3 the meeting starts at 5:30. You will dress appropriately Nathaniel. And I'm talking about a suit and tie."

He clicks his briefcase close and starts to walk to the door.

But before he walks out, Danny busted through the door, panting. Immediately I know something's wrong.

"Danny what the hell is going on?" I basically demanded him.

"Eva." He says

And that's all it took for my dad and I to go running down the stairs through the woods looking for my sister.

"Alexander!" My father calls out.

"Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!"

We hear Eva scream and we're sprinting through the woods to the sound of her voice.

When we get to the clearing we see what I thought was my worst nightmare. Eva's on the ground, blood coming out of her head, and a 5 foot wolf standing above her snarling at us. As if he's daring one of us to come near them. My father is physically shaking, and Alex decided to make an

appearance right then and there. He's panting with cuts, all around his body but he looks pissed.

"Alex are you ok?" I ask

He looks at me & says "no! I just beat up an oversized wolf that was attacking me!"

He turns his head towards Eva and he starts shaking as well.

"You fucking mutt! I'll kill you!" He runs at the wolf but my father stops him.

"Alexander, you will control yourself! Your sister is at stake!" He takes a few deep breaths and calms down.

"You are trespassing mutt. You will do best to get off my territory or so help me, I will kill you." My dad says,

At this point Danny just arrived and we all heard him talking to the wolf as if the wolf can understand him.

Danny falls to his knees

"Oh god, Eva" he whispers. My heart almost breaks at seeing him like that, but no one has time for this. We need to get Eva to a hospital.

" I will not repeat myself. Leave or be murdered, your choice. Mutt." In all my life I've never seen my father so angry.

The wolf snarls at my father and looks down at Eva. Snapping it's teeth at her. At the corner of my eye I see my father pull something out of his coat and it's not until I hear a BANG echo through the woods that I know it was a gun.

The wolf falls to the floor and none of us miss a heartbeat go run and grab Eva. Eva and I have always been close so seeing her like this breaks my heart. I let a tear slip as I pick her up.

"Take her to the house, I will have a friend come over and check her injuries. No one is to speak of this ever again. Understood? I will clean this mess up.

A course of "yes sir" are heard and we run back to the house.

I place Eva on the sofa and she still hasn't woken up yet. I'm holding her hand while Danny and Alex are on the other side of the couch just watching. I look at my brothers and I can see the guilt in their eyes.

"It wasn't your guises fault. Those wolves came out of no where. You couldn't have known." I say without looking at them. Alex gets up and throws a chair and leaves the room. Danny gets up to go comfort his twin.

"Wake up Eva, I know you can." 10 minutes later the door bell rings. I get up and see a man in his late 30's at the door. He has a coat on so I know he's the doctor. He bows his head at me and walks in.

"Where is Evangeline?" I don't question anything but say "this way. Please, follow me."

When I get to the living room he bends down by her side and begins to examine her head.

This is going to be a long night.
